Scott harrison is probably the biggest featherweight to ever box (due in part to adding a hell of a lot of weight after weigh ins). He won a lot of fights just purely down to being too big and strong for the other opponent, who were often at least 10 pounds lighter on fight night and 70% of the time at least an inch shorter. 10 pounds at this already light weight makes a massive difference, Harrison was naturally an 11 stone guy who somehow managed to make the 9 stone limit time after time.
Michael Brodie was a good fighter who should have stayed at Super-Bantamweight. He had the potential to become a World Champ at that weight. Once he moved up or was allowed to move up to Featherweight he was always struggling albeit he would always try his best. Taking nothing away from Harrison who in my view would always have beaten Brodie at the weight, but Michael was already a bit "Shot" and nothing like his early SB potential.
Featherweight at the time was absolutely stacked, one of the best divisions in boxing at that time along with Light-Welterweight. Darke says Harrison would be in anyones top 5 in the World. Well, Barerra, Morales, Pacquiao, Marquez and In Jin Chi. There's 5 guys who at the time I reckon would have beaten Harrison.
Fantastic fight, 2 fighters we never saw their full potential. Brodie unlucky not to win world title and Scott Harrison slipped of the rails.. old skool warriors..
Zeit Geist The IBHOF considers Benny Lynch the greatest fighter to come out of Scotland, He could had achieved allot more but he was forced to retire at the age of 25, unfortunately the booze got to him, he had the skills to drag himself out of the slums but a disease that took him back there he died at just 33 yeast old. He is already considered the second greatest flyweight of all time behind the great Jimmy Wilde, just think if he didn't have to retire at 25 of what he could have became.
DoctorBruceBanner ok - maybe you're right :) but Harrison was good and like lynch, i think if the booze hadn't got to him, or if he hadn't gotten to the booze he would have had great fights with the likes of Barrera at the time - i even think he would have taken Naz, especially post Barrera.
Brodie was shot from the two beatings he received from In-Jin Chi. A battle between Chi and Harrison would have probably been a classic, to bad it couldn't have been made. My money would have been on Chi by decision.
harrison what a waste of a fighter would of gave any too featherweights a fight of there life would he off beat barrera morales pacquiau marquauz maybe not but he would of gave them all a fight of there lifes
If Eric Morales struggled against Chi what makes anyone think that Scott wouldn't? Unless you believe that Scott was better than Morales. Scott never faced anyone of the caliber as Morales. The absolutely positively closest he came was Manuel Medina and he was schooled in their first fight.
Yeah and its amazing how big and strong the featherweight boxers can be (although they're probably just under 10 stone on fight night after rehydrating post weigh in).

he generates some huge power for his size, harrison does
Seriously, this fight should have hundreds of thousands of views

James Wilson don’t compere this Harrison with pacquaio or berera, morales, Marquez they elite and this Harrison is British, Europe level at best.

Harrison was a fucking animal, what a fighter! best scotland ever had!
Benny Lynch was Scotland greatest fighter
DoctorBruceBanner maybe, maybe not, and we will never know having no chance of seeing him in with harrison, buchanan, watt or any of the others.

Booze and the rest of the life style that comes with it affects Scottish sports till this day kids are more interested in drinking and taking drugs.
Great fight and great prequel to hattons glory the night after....seems like yesterday!!

you have to remember Harrison was addicted to the drink from 2003 and it ruined his career

Should have got up but easy to say
Amazing how scary 126 lb can be.
