This movie is actually quite accurate about including documented passengers. In one of the scenes if you look at the background characters, they even included a Japanese person to play the only Japanese passenger aboard. Sadly, the scene didn't the make the final cut and had to be deleted.

There was a scene in which he was actually rescued by the returning lifeboat, think he'd managed to find a piece of wood/ furniture to float on, but they definitely cut that scene - though you can find it on youtube.

I love this scene, it's so dreamy and magical. He is just struck by her, and she glances down at him then looks away. Then instantly realizes while she's trying to look straight ahead that she was struck by him too and can't help but look back a second time. Such a shame that women aren't like this in reality, you'd be labelled a creep and she'd walk away in disgust.

One of my favorite parts of this film is Rose's name. It's Rose DeWitt Bukater. Almost every fictional character has a shorter, two word, easier to think of name. Jon Snow. Harry Potter. Frodo Baggins. Even Jack Dawson. But many real people have random-sounding, long names. Like Rose DeWitt Bukater. It adds to the realism of the film in your subconscious. James Cameron is a genius.
