their dynamic is that they fell in love with how much they hate eachother. so their marriage is just a constant battle of who hates who more while praying for the others downfall. its a giant masochistic game of say uncle and the first one that gets the divorce loses. both of them want out but are equally as stubborn to admit defeat on their own. thats why when gaylord got the marriage certificate and couldnt "accidentally" burn it after the first few attempts, margret just flat out helped him. because atleast by it getting destroyed from an external source, it voids the marriage ending in a draw.
