I love the fact that Teri, since she’s a doodled and cut piece of paper, can technically draw anything on her and it’ll WORK as long as it fits on the paper. Facial features, expressions, and even entire OUTFITS can be drawn on! Instead of a wardrobe, she just has a PENCIL! Imagine being able to do that in real life, it’d be so strange and amazing!
I think what I like about this character is the fact that she overreacts to everything and everyone, like it’s absolutely shocking how much she makes absurd details to basic objects, words and people.

As someone who used to have to deal with HUGE health anxiety, she's pretty accurate. You do pick up a huge medical vocabulary by googling your issues all the time. You do have high expectations from doctors and you do question why the hell this super simple thing didn't warrant a blood test, an ultrasound, a CT scan, etc. I know, because I've been there. And you do end up getting weirdass looks from people because your anxieties do make you look delusional. I love Teri.

Moments that stuck out to me: -Terri being teared apart in the middle. -The murder of her uncle to use in her birthday present -a stain of droll being formed when she kisses Darwin This whole show is both dark and hilarious, and I don't know how I never noticed those moments
I have a bizarre theory. My theory on why she's is afraid of germs comes down to three things. The first part,(the most logical one), is that they wish to pursue a dream of being either a doctor or someone within the medical field, thus explaining why she hate germs so much. The second part is that she may once been infected with a deadly or just as harmful bacterial disease, lying next to deaths door but was able to recover but mentally scared. And the third one,(the most bizarre one), is witnessing someone with severe bacterial infection seeing how gruesome without proper care or medication to stop it. And if I recall, her mother is a professional medical doctor in turn, took her daughter to see the horrors of what lies behind the close curtains. Thus concludes my bizarre theory.
The first one would make sense if she wasn’t overly scared of them. Something you learn very quickly in any medical field is that germs are just as important as anything else and it could be extremely dangerous if you didn’t have any germs inside you.
She is a piece of paper so she is delicate and her mom is a doctor so she just saw a lot of infections and stuff like that when she was young so she got traumatized, i don't think it's that complicated
As someone with many phobias you don't need something big to traumatise you, just compulsive thoughts and a constant influx of the information that scares you (looking online and rabbits holes)
As a hypochondriac, seeing how her constant fears of illness are portrayed as irrational helps me a lot, because not only do I relate to it, but I also see that despite her constant illness fears she is entirely fine. I struggle with constant irrational fear of ailments ; for months ive been fighting the fear of having a stroke, or a heart attack, or kidney failure, when really my body just aches sometimes. If food I bought tastes bad, i briefly think its poisoned. Every time I buy cooked food, I worry its undercooked and will poison me. Seeing how she constantly has these severe fears but is just as fine as everyone else just makes me feel better because it reminds me my constant worrying is truly irrational. I dont mean that people with hypochondria need belittling to feel better, but its clearly showed when shes irrational and completely fine, and the way she acts about her hypochondria I can actually relate to a lot. I like her.

I never washed my hands as a kid, i had ZERO hygene and would wash my hands maybe once a week, and take a bath once a week. i would barely ever actually get sick. i'd smell bad, but... my immune system is titanium. ive never had an illness besides a common cold, chicken pox as a child, and some ear infections when i was younger. beyond that i have a fucking amazing immune system. i could easily do stuff like blowing my nose on a stepped-on mcdonalds napkin or other shit like that and be completely fine, but my brain will go into overdrive if i so much as scrape myself a little bit on the ground and panic ive just picked up a flesh-eating bacteria. people tend to think this way because of stories. i personally remember hearing stories of people getting simple accidents that lead to life-altering problems. one that stuck with me is the kid who accidentally cut his lip on a basketball hoop, and got a flesh-eating bacteria on his face that wasn't cured. shit like that makes me wonder when a small injury i sustain will be deadly in a horrible way.

TAWOG (besides being the only show that understood Zoomer "culture") managed to surpass any other comedy cartoon by even getting the torture humor right. In Spongebob, Squidward keeps getting tortured by those idiots and you feel sorry for him. Here, Teri is first build up as a hypochondriac (so harmless things are horrible to her), also it doesn't seem she feels pain rather than shock, there's no joke about consequences (not in bandages and a wheelchair or something), she's literally paper, most things happening to her are accidents. So its way less unconfortable than in other cartoons. And yeah it's mostly Nick cartoons with such humor.

I have a bizarre theory. My theory on why she's is afraid of germs comes down to three things. The first part,(the most logical one), is that they wish to pursue a dream of being either a doctor or someone within the medical field, thus explaining why she hate germs so much. The second part is that she may once been infected with a deadly or just as harmful bacterial disease, lying next to deaths door but was able to recover but mentally scared. And the third one,(the most bizarre one), is witnessing someone with severe bacterial infection seeing how gruesome without proper care or medication to stop it. And if I recall, her mother is a professional medical doctor in turn, took her daughter to see the horrors of what lies behind the close curtains. Thus concludes my bizarre theory.
The first one would make sense if she wasn’t overly scared of them. Something you learn very quickly in any medical field is that germs are just as important as anything else and it could be extremely dangerous if you didn’t have any germs inside you.
She is a piece of paper so she is delicate and her mom is a doctor so she just saw a lot of infections and stuff like that when she was young so she got traumatized, i don't think it's that complicated

As someone with many phobias you don't need something big to traumatise you, just compulsive thoughts and a constant influx of the information that scares you (looking online and rabbits holes)
As a hypochondriac, seeing how her constant fears of illness are portrayed as irrational helps me a lot, because not only do I relate to it, but I also see that despite her constant illness fears she is entirely fine. I struggle with constant irrational fear of ailments ; for months ive been fighting the fear of having a stroke, or a heart attack, or kidney failure, when really my body just aches sometimes. If food I bought tastes bad, i briefly think its poisoned. Every time I buy cooked food, I worry its undercooked and will poison me. Seeing how she constantly has these severe fears but is just as fine as everyone else just makes me feel better because it reminds me my constant worrying is truly irrational. I dont mean that people with hypochondria need belittling to feel better, but its clearly showed when shes irrational and completely fine, and the way she acts about her hypochondria I can actually relate to a lot. I like her.

@@photlam9769 to be honest, as a hypochondriac, it's often amazing to me to remember how good our immune systems are. we are told facts of the amount of germs on everything, if you go to a top 10 dirtiest surfaces in your house list, doorknobs, keyboards we type on, etc, might be filthier than the seat of a toilet... yet we put our hands on those and eat and we are all the same; fine. I never washed my hands as a kid, i had ZERO hygene and would wash my hands maybe once a week, and take a bath once a week. i would barely ever actually get sick. i'd smell bad, but... my immune system is titanium. ive never had an illness besides a common cold, chicken pox as a child, and some ear infections when i was younger. beyond that i have a fucking amazing immune system. i could easily do stuff like blowing my nose on a stepped-on mcdonalds napkin or other shit like that and be completely fine, but my brain will go into overdrive if i so much as scrape myself a little bit on the ground and panic ive just picked up a flesh-eating bacteria.
people tend to think this way because of stories. i personally remember hearing stories of people getting simple accidents that lead to life-altering problems. one that stuck with me is the kid who accidentally cut his lip on a basketball hoop, and got a flesh-eating bacteria on his face that wasn't cured. shit like that makes me wonder when a small injury i sustain will be deadly in a horrible way.

TAWOG (besides being the only show that understood Zoomer "culture") managed to surpass any other comedy cartoon by even getting the torture humor right. In Spongebob, Squidward keeps getting tortured by those idiots and you feel sorry for him. Here, Teri is first build up as a hypochondriac (so harmless things are horrible to her), also it doesn't seem she feels pain rather than shock, there's no joke about consequences (not in bandages and a wheelchair or something), she's literally paper, most things happening to her are accidents. So its way less unconfortable than in other cartoons. And yeah it's mostly Nick cartoons with such humor.
