I don't really have any particular tips and tricks for paper 1 I'm afraid, but I guess I'd say master the calculations and that will definitely help. However, if you are going for an A/A*, my general advice for all 3 papers would be to make sure you know EVERYTHING in your exam board's specification, and do every single past paper, repeating questions you get incorrect until you can understand them and get them correct. Focus on your mistakes. For definitions, reagents, conditions, etc., and small things you find difficult to remember, use digital flash cards such as Anki or Quizlet.
