lol more like thinly veiled..
Clever is a strong word for it. Lol
It says Edison Electric right in the intro credits. They weren’t trying to hide it.
TacoConsumer GE or Maytag or somebody else probably sponsored the show?!?
All this slang! Most I’ve heard in one video.
I liked watching this on my Xbox lol.
Here's my older brother... he's about 4 years younger than our mom.
Anne Bancroft was four years older than Dustin Hoffman when they made the Graduate; Angela Lansbury 5 years older than Lawrence Harvey when they made the Manchurian Candidate. In Hollywood, 4 woman years = 1 man year..
😆
He's 40 if he's a day! And he's got a completely different accent.
I highly recommend these while drunk w your sisters or best friends
I second that
I wouldn’t mind getting drunk with you Carly, or with one of your best friends - plus a sister or two. And I'm sure that I would have a good time no matter what I watched. Just a compliment.
I was just born this time ⌚ around. ❤
It reminds of my home. We had a pretty good , close family .. 2 of my brothers are gone now ,as well as 2 of sons, how I would love to have all of us together again.
Mom: "I don't know what time i'll be back tonight"
Adult Son: (incredulous) "Tonight?! But what about dinner?!?!"
LMAO!!
"We're going upstairs to catch a shower. We'll be down in a couple of hours..."
Ghey.
As Alex says “imagine having to do it the hard way...by hand”
And then at 6:22 Alex asks Bob in the shower: "You're not running out of hot water, are you? I stayed under quite a long time." So I guess that means Bob's the pitcher & Alex is the catcher. (His name should have been Neal.)
Golden,
1950 friends sound like a 2019 "couple"😁!
I like Alex, too. He’s as hygienically clean as the dishes!
I wish I was alive in those days, just to experience what life must’ve been like. What was school, university and work life like? And the things we take for granted today, were just coming in to our lives back then. Oh, and how the teenage language has changed….jeepers, the reds etc., lot different from hell yeah and WTF 😁
I always make it a point to discuss our modern kitchen appliances with our guests when they come over, emphasizing how they have made life so convenient and easy with quality results.
lol.....
I really do though 😂
Just like everyone I know with an instapot.
😂
Hahaha!
I thought product placement in 2019 was bad
1952: hold my coffee
*my electrically brewed coffee
Hold my electric cigarette
My electric mom and electric dad gave birth to me in an electric hospital so I could use my electric hand to take my electric coffee and tell some electric person to hold that electric coffee
It’s a long form ad
These are the same 30min ads i see pop up on youtube.
I had that stove in one of my broken down old apartments I lived in during college. I just remembered, there was a washer/wringer in the basement. It sure got the clothes clean. It was better than the one I have now as a grown woman in my 50’s!
The new front-loading, low-water-usage washing machines are a joke. Clothes have to be submerged in water to get clean.
my folks had a GE fridge just like the on in this film. finally got rid of it 6 years ago when fed up with defrosting. My great grandmother bought it new. it was still working when they parted with it.
If they say "electric" one more time, they're going to give me THE REDS!
🤣🤣🤣
Alanna White 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I plan to start using some of the lingo from here.
Warpath1337 Well aren’t you a real Cool Jonah? 😉😎
I laughed so hard at this comment! 😁
Judy: "I was just thinking."
Mother gives a horrified expression: "Thinking?!"
Oh no, don’t think. XD
You didn't listen properly. She said "thinking?about what? "
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My immediate thought was, "oh no, a woman thinking!" Hahaha I know it wasn't like that but seeing a show from the 50s I couldn't help it
Yo? Based mother?
These were the good old days. Now we live in a horror show.
It wasn't a perfect time, but in general I think it was a more relaxed and happier era for many folks....
@@yodservant Disagree. It was a very desperate time for 1/2 of the US. Things are MUCH better today. But Golly, the towels are fluffier so all's well huh?
@@TLo521 the women looked perfectly happy in this video. I think society has worsened significantly since then
Yes they have.
Awesome! Her dress matches the drapes in the background in the living room! So funny!
I just watched a 68 year old infomercial and loved every minute of it. Lol
Same. ^^
Two generations on, limitless hot water, private car and a mile of these gadgets boggles the imagination. The peak of human comfort.
"Judy i wish youd speak english like normal human beings"
i died
I tell my son this NOW with all these slangs these kids use
Lmfao

If you truly died then how did you post.
@@sarahmartini13 are they Hispanic or blacks
The actress who played Judy Adams was Bonnie Baken, she died on August 24,2020 at the age of 89.
I love older stuff like this and I wouldn't mind having them in my house to watch it relaxes me LoL
When meeting a young woman you are interested in, use lines like, "That makes the dishes hygienically clean." I'm taking careful notes.
Yes take notes. Here’s one: load the dishwasher correctly and without us having to tell you to do it. Just do it especially if we cooked the food. Also the counters and stovetop, front of microwave and front of dishwasher and fridge gets wiped down as well as the sink when cleaning the kitchen.
Men sadly, just do dishes and leave it at that. Nope the whole kitchen is a part of dishes. 😊 do all that without having to be told or nagged about and every wife will be happy. You may have to prepare to being attacked (👀💕) if you keep doing it!!
Or a trans woman
Judy is swell 🤩😍🤗 70s ago 😄😃
@@SweetTea-Stephens Im assuming both of you are working full time in that relationship, because if hes the only one with a job, he shouldnt have to do any of that, except putting the dishes in the washer.
lol.....
when homegirl starts dancing and then classical music stars playing I about died.
I laughed way too hard at that part😂🤣
I know! It stopped being a nerdy ad for electronics and turned into a real sitcom.
@@KennyRider137 : yeah, but the narrative fails there: she should go over to the cabinet full of vinyl LP's (and older media) to help her swain Alex pick out the platter? A little Benny Goodman is probably the hottest thing in that pipe-smoker's cabinet?
@@jnathanj883 but then the dad's line, "the rhythm of big generators" wouldn't be funny.
I spat out my dinner when that part came on . It was too funny 🤣
That “ brother” doesn’t look like a teen….😁 For some reason I like this one.
They never do. I like it.
I love how Alex was bragging on her and is taking her dancing. Good job, Judy!
I cant stop binging on these. But seriously how come this family in the 50s has a dishwasher and i still have to do mine by hand 😭
'cuz they're living in 1950s upper-middle-class dreamland, and you and I live in the modern, real, dirt poor world.
Haha I know right, I am the dishwasher!! 😁
It’s an ad.
@@genli5603 we know 😂
Poor life choices?
"Wouldn't it be slick?" I'm going to be using that line from now on.
Heather McPherson Groovy!
You still using it?
I still use slick. We had one of those laundry baskets growing up too.
“D’oh!! BROTHERS!!!!”
The " reds" for me lol.
So much we take for granted today. What a charming movie ❤️
Omg the outfit Judy was wearing while vacuuming,,,too funny. I have watched this a few times.
I want a sequel....AFTER they have grown mushrooms in artificial conditions.
🤣😂😆
I kept thinking they were getting to an adult version. : (
LOL.
I love how her skirt is made from the same material as the curtains and chair upholstery
@Christina bowen either way she’s cute as hell…I’d date her in a heartbeat
@@tjlovesrachel Same, Even if society was really like this back in the 50's, It just seems like fiction today, which is sad.
@@emeraldwind4897 i didn’t live it… but my parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles did… and yes there were problems.. but nothing like today… but they all agreed that it was truly a better time for many more reasons then bad… but they are glad that certain things did change
The dress, curtains, and upholstery were probably all made by Mom -- which was so much easier with her new, electric sewing machine!
still way better than torn pants
This is really a nice movie
I adore these old kitchen equipment vids. ❤ I would so 💯 watch these if they were still made!! 🤩👍🏻
They are
Man, he’s positively frantic. A real cool Jonah.

That may be the line that sums up perceived 50’s lifestyle 😂

That chick has an egg she's dying to get fertilized. I've seen it.
I wish I could go back to this time 2021 sucks.
I was born only 22 years after thid film so i do remember things being a bit different. Realizing this makes me feel old. This is just weird stuff to young people these days.
