- The only way to move these heavy beasts is to fold them in half and use 3 tie down straps or rope to hold it closed. They took this beast down stairs and loaded it into a pickup truck. A king size Purple mattress weighs over 200 lbs. DO NOT leave folded. Just for moving.

What made it so hard? Looking to move over myself
@@Claudethechiefsfanthey're extremely heavy compared to other mattresses and very soft so its hard to grab on, these guys were smart though. I didn't know you could fold it and we tried carrying it like a regular mattress and it was possibly the hardest thing I've ever had to maneuver .

what mattress bag did you use? would folding in half be possible with the purple2 king size?
I believe it was this mattress bag that I've used a lot (it was a few years ago) amzn.to/38IM6zO on Amazon. It's up to 14" deep and is heavy duty. Otherwise I bought it on a big roll from a wholesaler company. I moved a lot of mattresses so I bought them in bulk.
You can buy vacuum bags and roll them back up in bags the purple comes help move better.
It would never work for the hybrid that's so thick but I'd use it on the original or Plus!

can this be done with spring mattresses?
It needs to be a bed in a box type mattress. I’ve done this dozens of times with no effect. However, some mattress brands will say not to. And you do so at your own risk. If you do, don’t leave it folded for a long time.

Dang, I did too 🤣🤣. I just messed up my back by trying to lift my old mattress into my truck and then again into a large trash bin.
Yes, almost impossible to move the stinking mattress up and down the stairs. It’s too flimsy and heavy. I just moved a king upstairs and threw out my back. 2 guus
Looks like a good idea. I have to load a queen size into a pick up by myself. I think this will make it easier

Were there any long-term negative consequences for folding your king size up like this during the movement procedure? I also own a King Purple.
After doing this for 3 years there was 1 issue but it's tough to know what caused them. I mean they came rolled up in a tight ball...did this on so many Purple mattresses. I left them folded sometimes for months, but ideally, just for transporting and then lie flat.

@@cam5816 it was a manufacturing problem. The grid part was not even and there were big dips that caused the top to be uneven. That's covered by warranty though.

I’ve been sleeping on an old broken down spring since I was a kid and it’s taking a toll so I’m really eagerly wanting to buy a Purple Premier to finally have a really nice mattress to sleep on but I’m also young and not exactly rich so I’m pretty nervous about it. I think it would be a major quality of life improvement for me but I’m just so worried about making the wrong choice that I keep putting it off for months and months.
Wish I’d never bought mine. Hard to get rid of it.
They are very heavy but they're also SO COMFORTABLE

Next time vacuum pack the purple mattress. It shrinks it down to manageable size
What do you use to vacuum pack it? This has springs - I would try it on the kid or basic model but this one was thick...

How the hell did you guys get it in half so easy for the straps?? It feels damn near impossible to bend mine is half and the straps are like hell no lol
We had 2 people. But it can be a challenge!
I'm going to try and connect the ratchet straps and then ratchet the mattress closed.. shouldn't be too hard! Wish me luck. I have 3 flights of stairs, only a queen size tho😅.
