Trevor's book doesn't delve too deeply into how truly terrible it really was if you were mixed and taken from your family. When mixed kids were taken it often wasn't to an orphanage as stated but more likely they were sold to sex slavery. I have family today that had a mixed child taken and they never heard from them again. They looked for years and there's no record of where those children ended up. So Trevor's family keeping him close was probably a fear of that happening to him.

Listen to the audiobook! He does his grandma’s accent in the many languages of his native country and it’s hilarious, I loved his autobiography more than I even like his show or comedy. Truly fascinating man and origins.

This may have been like y'all best episode !! idk why I enjoyed it so much I dont even really know much about Trevor. I understand why he focused on living in childhood. I dont know much about what it's like in South Africa, or the history. tons of people read and learned from this book and I think that was his goal.
