Another great vlog guys, been away on Iona for 2 weeks so just catching up. It was our second visit to Isafjordur, first time I did the hike you did up the avalanche defenses but from Apex I did the trek to Bunarfoss waterfall and climbed that half way . Great views . We were so lucky with the weather that day . P.S. I am not caught dancing on this vlog but off to watch no 4 😅. Keep up the good work.
@andyandkirstie , mmmmm , it was our 3rd time on Iona , will be back onboard for New year and have Apex booked again for next spring . Apex wins hands down for food quality and variety in the buffet .
Envy you we went to Iceland 2014 on Arcadia in may had lovely weather, so beautiful a place apart from the Capital hardly any people which we love, would love to go back enjoy the rest of the cruise.
An enjoyable watch thank you both. Iceland on my bucket list. The crowds looked a lot better than when Andy looked rather grumpy at the temple in Bangkok!
Another cracking video of a place that is on my bucket list for sure. Ship looks great too. Glad to see you got good weather and that Princess Pizza still tops the charts! Look forward to the next one. Keep up the great work. 😁💖🚢⚓
Great vlog guys, gorgeous golden showers um I mean waterfall Lol 🤣. Such beautiful scenery and you were so lucky with the weather. Really enjoying this series and can't wait for the next episode. Thanks for sharing and take care you two. Paul and Marie xx 👍🛳️🚢
Thank you so much, a very interesting video and what beautiful views. I really understand that you also want to have a walk for yourselves once in a while. I have not been to Iceland but our neighbors have been there and have told about the nature up there. They breed Icelandic horses and they give the horses names from Iceland of course and I find the names quite difficult to remember !! Thank you once again and all the best to you both😊.
Thank you for showing us around. I have looked at flights to the UK with Icelandic Air where you can have a few days layover in Reykjavík. Noted some bars close at 2pm 😅
Hi Bazza. Iceland is somewhere we always thought of, but weren't that bothered to rush there. Have to say now though, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend it to anyone. A cruise was a good way to see some of it, but I definitely felt we didn't have enough time in some places.
The only passengers who didn't find the microbrewery in Isafjordur! Well worth it and it was warm enough to sit outside, although 6 x 100ml beer flight (just over a pint) of beer cost £25!
We did find it and recorded a short segment that didn't make the video. I didn't appreciate at the time that they did anything other than beer (being a brewery), which is why we didn't stop there. I really didn't fancy a beer as it turned out I was getting ill.
What did you guys think about the infinite veranda Andy? We weren't particularly convinced by it compared to a typical balcony. Pros and cons both ways I think but my preference is a traditional. What did you think?
For our cruise, it was ideal, as it was mostly cold. Sometimes, though, it was mild enough to open the 'window'. If it was hot out and you're relying on AC inside, then maybe it wouldn't be so good.
We stumbled across your first apex video last week and have really enjoyed all 3 so far. We are now subscribed. 👍🏻 We board the apex a week tomorrow! Can’t wait. What camera do you use by the way? Keep up the great work. And we will be booking the Eden restaurant based on your recommendations. 👍🏻 Thanks, Gareth
That's great! Hope you have a fantastic time. Sure you will. I use a combination of cameras. My main camera is a Sony ZV-E1. I also use a DJI Osmo pocket 3 and a DJI action 4 for some shots.
@peterlucy1519 Celebrity are one of the few cruise lines that allow you to carry a drone on and off the ship unhindered. They just don't want you flying within the port area. Iceland is an easy place to fly a drone. If they don't want you flying in certain areas, there is a sign (such as the waterfalls we visited).
Love your vlogs and your calm manner am Andy , we have visited Iceland in February when very snowy! You had perfect stunning weather. Interested to know if you tendered into Reykjavik? Would absolutely love to do this itinerary.
Really enjoying these latest videos. They're killing two birds with one stone, we're on the Celebrity Apex in a couple weeks and off to Norway and Iceland next summer on the Sky Princess. A quick question, would you recommend we take our walking boots for getting around the trails in Iceland?
Sounds amazing! I wouldn't worry about boots specifically, although I did take some. I wore a pair of Salomon Goretex trail runners most of the time, which were perfect. There are mostly very well maintained gravel paths around the tourist sites.
Love watching your vlogs. This is on my bucket list , I'm going on the sky princess in November first time on the ship always been on celebrity are they roughly the same ?
Thanks for this, we have been to Isafjordur but bad weather kept us out of Reykjavik. Considering Apex next year....Great quality video, you obviously have a talent for that, where do you get the music from, it is provided by RUclips?
Thank you! We'd definitely go back on Apex (or another Edge class ship). All the music I use is from Epidemic Sounds, which is a copyright free music provider, very popular with a lot of RUclipsrs.
Is the ship cold ? I was on apex for Norwegian fjords in July . Fjords were lovely warm dry but ship was freezing even in the solarium. !! I used to cold as from Ireland but ship air on blasted out really cold air !!
Actually it is not diesel? Edge class ships are more environmentally friendly and whilst in port use electric for power, edge class ships can be supplied from shore or produce it's own electrical power. What you can see is steam, or vapour, i know it dosen't look like it but thats all it is. I went on the ship tour and they explained the process, edge class ships are a lot more environmentally friendly than older cruise ships.
Hi both,
Lovely video of the scenery, great to be able to walk along side the waterfall😊

How did Iona rate after Apex?
@andyandkirstie , mmmmm , it was our 3rd time on Iona , will be back onboard for New year and have Apex booked again for next spring . Apex wins hands down for food quality and variety in the buffet .
Yes, loved that buffet!
As always, your footage is just stunning. What a beautiful place.
Did well with weather ! Nice and quiet ..here and there ! Enjoy🎉
Envy you we went to Iceland 2014 on Arcadia in may had lovely weather, so beautiful a place apart from the Capital hardly any people which we love, would love to go back enjoy the rest of the cruise.
Thanks!
Just absolutely stunning video. Really loved it.
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it!

It was much hotter in Bangkok! 😂
Absolutely stunning vlog! Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks guys - your videography just keeps getting better and better and gives a real sense of the places you’re visiting. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This bought back memories of when we did the golden circle, amazing place to visit, looks like you got some decent weather.
Yeah, we we're very pleased it didn't rain! It was a great day.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! We haven't had a Princess pizza in a while, but have fond memories of it!

Thank you very much! It's a beautiful country, well worth a visit. The horses are cute too!
Beautiful weather, you really were so lucky..
Yeah, it was a great day.
Really enjoying your videos

We did this tour on P&O’s Arcadia , was so busy , the restaurant and Gidt shop were jammed , we think we caught covid that day .😊
Oh dear! I'm definitely not a fan of crowds.

What brand and model drone are you using? Thank you
It's a DJI mini 3. It's pretty good. I'd consider upgrading, but I hardly ever use it.
Did you have any issues taking the drone on ship & what are the flying rules for Iceland. Thinking about taking my drone to Norway next year on apex
@peterlucy1519 Celebrity are one of the few cruise lines that allow you to carry a drone on and off the ship unhindered. They just don't want you flying within the port area. @@andyandkirstie Upgrade to what brand and model?
@mikemurphy2112 The new DJI mini 5 pro (being released soon)
Love your vlogs and your calm manner am Andy , we have visited Iceland in February when very snowy! You had perfect stunning weather.

Thanks! No, we didn't tender in any of our ports on this trip.

For the game of thrones fans, Thingvellir National Park is film location for the wall obviously with some help of CGI
Didn't know that (we're not GOT watchers). Thanks.
Love watching your vlogs. This is on my bucket list , I'm going on the sky princess in November first time on the ship always been on celebrity are they roughly the same ?
We really enjoyed Sky Princess. In our limited experience, they're pretty similar.
Another fantastic watch with some stunning views.
Andy may I ask what brand/model are your sunglasses?
Thanks! Sunglasses are Oakley Clifden.
Many thanks Andy😎👍
@BiggyPR 👍
Good singers! ❤
They were 👍

Iceland looks lovely but not sure if I would do that itinerary tho. Too cold for me tbh 🤣.
Fair enough! It was chilly, but we had mostly decent weather.
Is the ship cold ? I was on apex for Norwegian fjords in July . Fjords were lovely warm dry but ship was freezing even in the solarium. !! I used to cold as from Ireland but ship air on blasted out really cold air !!
I found it OK, although we did keep cranking up the heat in the cabin. Kirstie was always cold and to be fair, it certainly wasn't warm!
👌👍
Lep pozdrav iz Slovenije
Stunning environment, amazing how much crap the ship is pumping out of its diesel exhaust pipe!
Yeah, a lot of ports will aim for quayside power hookup in the future to avoid the ships constantly running engines.
Actually it is not diesel? Edge class ships are more environmentally friendly and whilst in port use electric for power, edge class ships can be supplied from shore or produce it's own electrical power. What you can see is steam, or vapour, i know it dosen't look like it but thats all it is.

@stevewilson6390 Thanks for the info, very interesting 👍
