Would a real president make the hurricane less destructive? Also you are aware states have to ASK for federal aid, it is not provided otherwise. The result would've been the same regardless of whomever the president is. POTUS is a placeholder, the Senate runs the country.

My prayers go to the victims family and friends in cedar key and elsewhere in idalia's path. hurricanes are no joke and it does not discriminate anyone of all sizes, ages, heights and backgrounds. As a man from NYC, why when we’re suffering from a disaster like the major flooding we had 2 years ago where the water came down so fast where we had families in basement apartments down because they had no time to get out. People above a lot of these basement apartments were breathing through their own floors with axes trying to save them.. ..the comment section is full of people from states like Florida mocking us. ‘Christians’ commenting how it ‘God’s punishment’ and so on. More likely to tell us why we deserved it than give condolences, but when it happens to y’all. You don’t see us making those comments?

Prayers for all affected by Idalia 🙏...Desantis wouldn't even pronounce the name of Hurricane Idalia correctly because it is a Hispanic pronunciation. Insists on calling it Eyedalia when the hurricane center's official pronunciation is «ee dal ya». The guy can't even stand for diversity in names!

What is wrong with this picture? I see so many homes built only a few feet above sea level in the Florida area. It is
only a matter of time for a hurricane just coming near raising sea level and they are flooded.
The state of Florida and Desantis is responsible for allowing anyone to build in these disaster areas.
If you are only a few feet above sea level it is only a matter of time before these guys are flooded by storm surge destroying
    homes and trailers.
Worse is: seeing the same structure built on the same spot just waiting for the next hurricane.
Florida has to require these places to build homes above the storm surge flood levels.
Look at New Orleans. The replacement homes are on stilts with under home parking and temporary storage with stairs to
the first floor. It is much better than destroying your home with the next hurricane event.

Eso sucede por construir a la orilla del mar y siempre sucederá, no se de construir a nivel cero del mar y lado de las playas, ni en escurrideros naturales, mínimo a 200 metros de estos últimos....
