My players didn't stop the ritual, and let some dude become a demon. They ran away epically at least, and left the whole mess for their other, more heroic PCs to deal with.
About the phases, make a boss Like tinker knight from shovel knight, the first phase is Just a little engineer that throws wrenches and the Second is a giant, metal tank that has a drill as his left hand and a cannon on the other, he shoots platforms which the player must jump in to reach his drill hand, and the player Will slowly Fall down while on the drill. Then, jump on his shoulder to hit the head and so on
Good advice. I have two bosses in my current camapign, and I'm going to do a second phase on the first mini boss, and the phases for lair actions on the main BBEG
One of the coolest fights that happend during my campaign was, a fight with a forestwitch that had placed root traps around the house that could grapple the players. At the end they defeted her by burning her house down and one of the players slamed her in the wall causing it to colapse on her.
My dude I swear I am already subbed to you but you need to tone done with the constant "subscribe ring the bell" reminder, it's both grating and distracting. Find one place in the video, at beginning or the end and stick with it, dont force it all the time. I know it's a grind and all but overdoing it might have entirely different effect than what you want
I actually have a homebrew thing called mythic resistance, which when triggered, gives them that videogame/anime desperate move moment, as they proceed to critical success all saving throws for a turn. This includes death saves, so the boss will stay at one, and get to have a final turn. It stops first turn curbstomps, but lets the party know they have them on the ropes. I generally do not combo this with strong healing, but if you have a dude that have one of those in the tank still, go ahead. Everyone's gotta have a theme.

Thanks awesome!

Amazon video! I love your content 👀
Thank you!
I got at least three ideas for an upcoming boss battle from this. Thanks!

For the time pressure idea, you literally described the Severin fight from Rise of Tiamat or Tyranny of Dragons.
Great tips, thanks for the new ideas

I dont need this. Le goopz the fanged snail that shoots bullets from holes in its Shell is perfect
Did i mention Bob the light bulb
I remember in the good old day when we was chasing down tarrasques in an evangelion suit that our goblin npc gave us.
Did your characters go through the human instrumentality project?
good tips! commenting for algorithm
I made a mini boss that forces players to do wisdom saving throws to not see an illusion
I know Rime of the Frostmaiden has like 3 phases to that big boss fight . . . I'm gonna add a 4th

Ah so make somebody summon Tiamat’s aspect.
Why you're using a Green screen of your room?
It’s just the back lighting, but I didn’t realize that it was wayyy too strong when I recorded ^^’
