+nick germ it is so hard to explain. Okay here goes: If 10 countries gave Ireland 3 points through televoting, but those juries voted it last, that would be cancelled out and the votes would be lost. Obviously some juries did agree with their televoters and gave it points (I know the UK gave it 1 (bless us!)), but not many did. The case with Spain may be that only 3 countries gave it points through televoting, but their juries also ranked it in the points, so those points would be retained and Spain would get those votes. If you get what I'm saying, Ireland had the public support but not enough jury support to get many points, whereas Spain didn't have much public support, but certain countries' juries also supported their public's decisions, so points were scored that way. Did this help or is it too confusing?
Rose Kelly Yes, I voted for this and it came last, voted for France, Slovenia and San Marino in 2014 and they came in the bottom 3. I voted for songs in 2011 which didn't qualify and Lithuania didn't qualify in 2014 either. I think I just have a better taste than the rest of Europe :P

It really didn't. If it was in a different year, say 2014 (that was quite a weak year, no offence), then maybe it would have done better than last in the finals, due to what it was up against.
Since Eurovision is going back to Sweden next year I must say, the song for Ireland in 2013 was literally the best and I was so pissed off when it eventually came out in last place. Why are so many commenting on how Spain deserved to end last? Dolan's song for Ireland was clearly better than many other songs, but SO was the Spanish one. ESDM was a bit weak in the performance, but the song was overall nice.
