22:26 That’s Lorna/Polaris, Wanda is upstairs, that’s why their mom tells Lorna to go play with her sister. I think this short moment was also cut from the theatrical cut.
Great choice on rogue cut. They removed any mention of her from the original, except for the final hallway scene. They both make sense, but this version was so much better. Keep up the great reactions
Kitty’s reaction to finding out Bobby didn’t make it is so sad all she wanted was for him come back safe “please jus bring yourself back “he sacrificed himself for her to get her help at any cost
3:33 Logan had bone claws because Silver Samuri chopped his claws off, and they healed back without the Adamantium, but the rest of his skeleton is still coated in the stuff, plenty for Erik to control. 11:34 In the comic I believe Kitty travelled back herself, effectively she Phased through time and took over her own body, but both because, certainly for the Fox X-Men films, Logan is the posterboy, and because she wasn't alive at the time that they needed to go back to, Logan went back instead. In the theatrical cut, Kitty just soldiers on after Logan slices her up. I don't recall about Bobby, I guess he dies with the rest of them later. Aso if you're a Blink fan, as I recall she's a major charactrer in the series "The Gifted"
good concise explainers; Rachel Summers sent kitty's mind back in the book. I hope we'll get a take of Days of Futures Past thats more loyal to the book in the future (though Ill always appreciate the Fox x-movies, well at least 4 of them). The Gifted was almost better than some of the movies, though I wish they'd have joined that continuity w Legion (imo the best live x-show so far).
Yeah, I don't remember them explaining it in the movie, but the Sentinels have been around for decades, but these upgraded versions with Rogue's powers are what changed the game... or at least that's what I perceived.
Originally Quicksilver wasn't supposed to be the one to break Magneto out. They wanted Juggernaut but because Avengers Age of Ultron announced that they have Pietro, Fox asked to add him into the movie to one up Disney by having their version be on screen first before Disney. That's why he just goes off after his scenes.
Fox’s “The Gifted” was a pretty good show. It last only 2 seasons and was left off a cliffhanger due to low views. It has Polaris, the daughter of Magneto, Blink, and Thunderbird, Warpath’s older brother. It takes place in a state where the X-men have disappeared and a middle class family has a normal life til one of their children manifests powers and forces them to go on the run from the authorities, “Sentinel Services”. Even though it was cancelled I’d give it a watch on/off camera if interested.
6:50 Yah that’s Blink and Thunderbird, they actually went on to make a spin-off show called “The Gifted” that took place in this timeline prior to this. It featured mutants like Polaris who is Wanda’s sister, and Wanda is even referenced in this movie. Blink is played by a different actress in the show but Thunderbird has the same actor.
In the beginning, Charles told Logan that he would be the only one that would remember both timelines if he was successful in changing things. So yes, like you deduced, the Charles at the end of the movie has been waiting all these years for Logan to one day catch up with his alternate future self.
Namor was the first mutant to appear in the comics (though he wasnt a mutant until after the x-men introduced mutants) Apocalypse is generally accepted to be the oldest mutant at roughly 5000, however the very first and oldest mutant in the comics is Selene at 17 000 In the MCU Namor is the oldest known mutant and Ms. Marvel is the first one me meet (although The Marvels accidentally labels her as inhuman like she was in the comics up until recently)
Vary true; though Id like to amend the oldest mutant lore.... Apocalypse, Selene, the only reasons we think they were the firsts is cause they survived as Xternals all this time. For all we know, the first mutant was a kid like cypher, but he died after an average lifespan or younger back in 1 million BCE.
It would make more sense for The Sentinels to get their powers from Rogue. But you could argue that Mystique can change her DNA since she's able to replicate fingerprints.
fingerprints are not genetic. they are developmental. that said, they recently retcon'd mystiques metamorphic in the comics to be gene-morphing. I think they are just trying to polish the shapeshifting up cause they so over used her that her "mystique" is all gone.
This one has good writing and decent dialogue - which I thought "First Class" was strongly lacking of. Also cinematography and the creative use of powers is top notch. That's why to me it's easily the best X-Men movie out of all 6 (not counting Dark Phoenix💩).
21:20 Mystique can use physical abilities and simulate things like increased strength or bone claws disguised as vibranium. In different continuities her shape shifting is more powerful but I think scientists were the ones that were able to make it able to copy abilities fully. Also might’ve used Rogue?
I love how throughout this, you're using your love and knowledge of sci-fi to try and make the time travel make sense. For Agents of Shield, that's serving you well, but since this series' timeline is fucked, it's screwing you over. You're basically smarter than the movie writers 😂😂
They created this rule that the mind can only go so far before it collapses. It's not like that in the original comic. Just to justify Wolverine being the only one capable of going back in time, and being able to be the protagonist again. This justification doesn't even make sense, because Wolverine's powers have nothing to do with the mind. His mind has no power, it is the brain that can regenerate as it is part of his body, not his consciousness. It would have been better not to have placed this condition. In the comics, Kitty goes back in time and the one who sends her mind to the past is Rachel Summers, Scott and Jean's daughter. I love Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, but it would be cool to see another protagonist. But I understand that this was a smarter business decision.
It was a pretty long movie so choosing which scenes to put in was tough but I got mostly everything I wanted in here. Copyright is really annoying which is why there's so many fades and X-Men text on screen for a lot of it. I also just wanted to wait to be closer to Deadpool and Wolverine release week and be done with Acolyte and The Boys before posting this one so that took a few weeks
With how much I've seen you talk about time travel, and with the Acolyte and The Boys seasons ending, might I suggest Dark? Bit of a departure for your channel, and it's best in its' original German, but it is a masterpiece. And only 26 episodes total.
Don't try too hard to make the timeline make sense. The continuity was already pretty terrible before Days of Future Past. And at least the time travel hijinks serve to kind of explain away why there are so many continuity errors throughout the series. 😆
Haven't even seen the theatrical cut.😂 I'd argue that most people like me just like Rogue and that's all about it. Plus, it doesn't make the movie worse. :)
I think the theatrical cut is a tighter, leaner and meaner movie. There's no fat so to speak. That means there are no pointless or unnecessary scenes like Beast and Mystique making out. Fan boys love the Rogue Cut because they love to overanalyze the creation of the Sentinel X. They don't understand or respect the power of ambiguity in movies. I also hate how they ruined two perfectly good scenes by mashing them together. There was no reason the magnificent scene of Magneto raiding the Pentagon should overlap with a scene of Iceman and old Magneto rescuing Rogue. They just dont fit together. I also prefer Bobbys death in the theatrical cut. It adds so much more emotional weight to the climax of the film. To me, the theatrical cut to Days of Future Past is the greatest superhero movie ever made.
I had no issue with those both scenes mashed together. Actually I appreciated it for showing off Magneto at his best vs. at his worst. But yeah, maybe I'm a fanboy and I do like Rogue as a character a lot. :))
@@derberndvonthueringen Rogues part in the Rogue Cut is not good enough or essential enough to me. I LOVE the theatrical cut of Days of Future Past that much
THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST X-MEN MOVIE THAT " EVER EXISTS " !😑😒 ALL BLUDY TRASH! "Hugh Assman" I caught that 😂

The reason why the future sentinels can use mutant powers is because, besides mystique's powers, they also added Rogue's powers in the robots.

Magneto stopped Wolverine since his skeleton still coated with adamantium. Silver Samurai cut through his claws in The Wolverine.

it was indeed sunspot, different look like you said more human torch like also rip Adan Canto, the actor who portrayed him.

Smarter than the movie writers yet he couldn’t figure out it was William Stryker who triggered Wolverine lmao
Where to watch Rogue Cut? I can't find it online
41:33 - That line sounds familiar because Charles says it again in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
His body is still metal. Magneto is stopping his body from moving.
They created this rule that the mind can only go so far before it collapses. It's not like that in the original comic. Heard a lot of good things about Dark, I'll definitely put it on my list to watch sometime
I second Dark. He's gonna love it.
You forgot origins Wolverine
Due to it being forgettable as hell I don't think of this as a mistake.😂
He mentioned that in the video. He's already seen it multiple times as a kid.

This is where the X-Men films should have stopped. Best X film & perfect ending. Everything else after is trash or overrated garabge imo ✌😎
watch xmen dark phoenix
