My son's SLP recommended this video to me. He is 2 years, 4 months old and has been attending speech therapy for 2 months. He has trouble differentiating vowel sounds when speaking. He has excelled at baby sign language and seems to learn words and sounds more easily when he has a sign to go with it. Thank you so much for providing this video, I'm sure it's going to help us
    :-)

As someone who is in speech for both dysarthria and apraxia, I never knew what these cues were, but while in therapy I always knew what I needed to do when my SLP showed me these. Now, I know the point of them.

Wow! I can't wait to go back to work next week to start trying this! I'm not an SLP, but I work with toddlers with autism. Unfortunately, our regional center doesn't generally provide speech therapy for the kids if they are also receiving behavioral services, so while we consult with SLPs, we are left to implement what we can, with little to no training in communication disorders. Thank you for providing this wonderful video to help people like me, in helping our kids learn to talk! :)

I know this comment is years old but the company you work(ed) for is unethical for not allowing More often than not, people in the ABA world act is if their field is the end-all-be-all for children's problems like, "We can fix everything so no need to get PTs, OTs, and especially SLPs involved!"
I have yet to meet a single ABA therapist or BCBA who knows anything about communication (not just behavioral scripts) yet they continue to think they're qualified to treat communication disorders. Unfortunately, the field is designed to employ young therapists who virtually have no educational background in behavioral intervention, articulation, and language development so these people have no choice but to blindly follow their BCBA's directive. ABA therapy can be useful for certain things but far too often it encroaches on other discipline's area of expertise. I'll never understand why so many ABA centers are resistant to referring to, and working with, SLPs.

Awesome! A different cue from the PROMPT method I have been using. I'm going to try this with my adult clients and see which I like better. Thanks so much for sharing. The video is so well done!

Amazing! Thank you for this video. I am currently working with a 4 yoa HH client that is highly unintelligible. The most frequent process he uses appears to be vowel deviation (substitution). I've decided to start from the "basic" and build up his foundation by means of vowels awareness and distinction. No doubt your techniques will be extremely helpful. I'd love to purchase your seminar but seeing that I'm a poor grad student that will have to wait until I can save some mula ;). Thx again

wow I am glad I found you! do you do personal sessions? can you email me your rate? I am a native Spanish speaker and in my language there are only 5 vowel sounds and in English there are 17 vowel sounds so I need to learn them and specially differentiate them cause i can't hear the difference in some of them. Thanks

Do you have a suggestion for the long "a" sound as in "wait"?
