That has been awesome house in its day. All of the built ins and cupboards scream Craftsman. Too bad it's in such bad shape. I could see me living in a house like that. Thank you for sharing this. Great video.

These sort of places were quite common in the Australian farmland, where they used shiplap for walls and ceilings. The inside windows could have been for airflow, or there may well have been extensions done as the family grew. This one was in fairly good shape mostly, and the cabinets were in good nick. I enjoy seeing people check these places out, as a view of something that once was.

Im surprised it hasnt been vandalized more than it has. I didnt see rain damage either despite the bad roof so it appears to be in a dry climate. There just could be enough left of it to be saved.

This home must have been full of life. I love the design concert, quite homey. I wonder if part of the home was used for some kind of class rooms,.... I envisioned it all fixed up and furnished. I wish the history could be found. I would think finding out the names of the original and last owners wouldn't be difficult. One could then take it from there with research.

These houses were originally built as two bedrooms and one bath. As families grew, the houses were added on to. I live in a 95 year old home that's had additions. The bathroom door keys are original.

Perhaps the house was built in stages" so windows were installed on an exterior wall. Later, another addition might have been afforded. New exterior walls, and windows were installed. For whatever reason, the owner felt no need, or reason to remove the interior walls and/or windows ... and like someone else noted, the interior windows could have been used as a sort of "ductless" air conditioning, using the current breezes .....

Great explore. I think you are right about there being additions. It looks like they just keep adding on, and left the windows between rooms. LOL. They sure did like windows. The wallpaper and the contact paper on the counter tops looks very 1970s to me. So I would guess it was abandoned about that time.

Either they had a big family or a place like that could have been an orphanage or something. The front doors don't look like the usual house style doors. But nothing in that place is cookie cutter, especially since there are so many windows to look into the rooms like as if to keep an eye on someone. Cool place. And those hardwood floors, I'm surprised someone hasn't come and ripped them out. I've seen houses with the floors ripped out. Now flooring like that is SO hard to come by and is so costly that they have this fake chemical crap wood. I'm so surprised no one has busted the windows out. Nice.
