- Callanish Stone Circle: Neolithic Mystery of the Hebrides explores Britian's most remote neolithic sacred landscape- not just a single stone monument but one of four stones circles, alignments and standing stones.
Scotland's rich neolithic prehistory is scattered across the country and islands, Harris and Lewis of the Outer Hebrides is remote so it was wonderful to visit such an enigmatic stone circle.

Excellent work Jules, beautiful presentation and such a fascinating topic! All the best to you my friend!🎷🎷
This must be the most overlooked region of the U.K.! Incredible scenery and history, yet gets very little attention.
What a brilliant, well made, informative video.
Last year I visited Brogar / Stenness. Thanks to your vid’ I’m heading Hebrides 2023. 💚👊🏼🌀
Thank you, I'm off to Brittany soon so will be doing more Neolithic locations.. and perhaps a few in Spain
check my channel and I have a couple of videos I did last year on Orkney.
Awesome presentation my friend! Lovely lovely lovely! 🌹
Excellent video. Off to Callanish in two weeks
It is surprisingly a very busy site ..if you can be there for sunrise at 4am !.. or spend the night there.. the site is free and open as are the other circles
@@julesdingle Thanks for the tip. Yes, I've already booked a sunrise tour there with a local can company. Praying it doesn't rain 😄
Hoping to visit here in 2025 on our next holiday......looking forward to seeing these stones and the island, Kia ora from Aotearoa/New Zealand
I was there 5 years ago and I got the strangest feeling that the Callanish stones area was used for human sacrifice, just a real weird feeling each time I went there.
❤
Fantastic presentation, love your drone footage, makes the sites part of a landscape and not an isolated collection of stone.
really glad you enjoyed the visit... it matters!
and good luck with your channel
Where is the circle showed around 13min40?
that is Callanish 3 [sadly they don't have romantic names just Callanish, then 2 3 4] it is 1 km east of the main stone circle
