    Final Fantasy Tactics will always be my favorite Final Fantasy beside FF6. The story really was so much better compared to many of the numbered FF games IMO. I'm still waiting on the day you guys would do an origins video on Ramza Beoulve.

      We're all still waiting for a new Tactics game, Square... But seriously, I vaguely remember hearing something about Square working on a Tactics game for the 3DS early on, I think it might've been in Game Informer. Does anyone else remember that, or am I just an idiot?

      I love Tactics but I've got to say, I liked Advance 2 better. For me, the games were all about the crazy builds that you can do. The addition of sidequests disguised the grind needed to get you characters to the advanced jobs. More jobs and the race system also allowed a lot more crazy OP builds whereas the OP builds in the original were just Dual Weild and Arithmetiks, a lot more boring IMO.

    • @lancelindlelee7256

      @GamerGirl 1 Advance 2 (FFTA2) on the DS was much better than the one on the GBA. You had much more story characters (including Hurdy, Al-Cid, Vaan and Penelo from FF 12).
      You still learn skill from weapons but at least around early -mid game, you get a clan wide bonus that almost triples the rate you learn skills. This is actually one of the things that make it a lot better for me.
      Just my 2 cents. I get that people may still not like it.

While the main series games mostly (FF3, FF7, FF15 and especially FFX/X-2), the spin-offs are great too. From those spin-offs, Dissidia 012 is my favorite and is currently the game I’ve spent the most time with more than 450 hours

    Crisis Core and Dissidia Duodecim are two of my favorite Final Fantasy games and helped open up the vast world of FF and its many worlds and adventures for me. For that, I will always love both of those titles. I still hope that Square decides to remaster Crisis Core for PS4, or PS5, whichever will be next. I know it's doubtful in the near future, with the delays to the VII remake, but I can dream, right? XD

    No love for Tactics Advance? Probably the biggest change to the job system it brought was allowing the fans to legitimately play as an Assassin (the original FFT required some clever hacking via GameShark, and even then, only Celia was safe to use as Lede would crash the game).
    Hopefully that World of Final Fantasy mobile game will be friendly for free players and not more pay to possibly win garbage (assuming that they run the freemium model)...
    Also, I guess it's been said already, but War of the Lions did get ported to Android & iOS (and you'd better have LOTS of free space, this easily eats a couple gigabytes just like FF7&9).

    You missed FF Dimensions. It's by far one of the best games Square's made since the classic FF days that every single person reading this comment has been wanting and craving since FFX. It's a deep, 60+ hour epic classic ATB job system that has many more hours of post game content that challenges your party building skills for unlockable ultimate gear. Not enough people know about it, and the few that do automatically think the wrong things when they see it. They're missing out on a game that will hook them for years and years, I my self replay it at least twice a year and have every year for the past 4 years since I tried it.
    Stop reading this and go play it, right now.

      This!!!!!!

    • @genesisSOC
      @genesisSOC 6 лет назад +1

      Yeah, which really bothers me because people will see Dimensions 2, think it sucks, then think Dimensions 1 automatically sucks by proxy. Same with the bad FF5/FF6 ports using Dimensions' art style. That art style doesn't work in FF5 or 6 because 5 and 6 were designed with their original art styles in mind, so they're just getting the new style plastered on top of the existing game, but FF Dimensions was built from the ground up with that art style so it ends up working beautifully in that game instead.
      People also like to complain that $15 is too expensive of a price tag for an app, meanwhile they pay $60 for games that offer far less hours of content and no replayability. $15 is so cheap for how much this game offers, it's a full fledged epic console/PC experience, just happens to be on mobile phones. It even has the prelude chapter for free so you can try it out.

    • @sammyshehole
      @sammyshehole 6 лет назад

    Funny story - my first "Final Fantasy" game was actually "The Legend of Final Fantasy III" in 1993 on the OG Game Boy which was actually part of Square's SaGa series before its name change when ported to the west to capitalize on the popularity of the Final Fantasy name here. So not really a spin off, per se, but interesting factoid how games ended up with the FF name back in the day. It was also the first time I really got to the end of an JRPG on my own 25 years ago so it holds a special place in my heart.

    I hope they do a Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for Switch including music from Final Fantasies since The 3DS Two (I.E: 15, World Of, Mobius, etc) as well as expanding on the Games featured in Certain Call as well (I'd like to see them add God In Fire to Dissidia 012 Song Selection. Worlds Collide, Limit Break & Dash to The 13-2 Song Selection. etc).

    I love FFTactics and Dissidia 012, they are my favorite spin offs, and my favorite FFs along with FF7. Surprisingly as much as I love 7, I hated Crisis Core, or better said, I got totally bored with it.

    Dirge of Cerberus is technically a sequel( which I wish I was better at, but I play rpgs cuz I suck at shooters). I played Crystal Chronicles a bit as a kid didn't like it that much. I'm honestly not a big fan of games that "require" you to have other people to do things. I will say that Crystal bearers is fun, and enjoyable although because it's a Wii game it's a bit janky on the controls. I beat world of final fantasy, and while I enjoyed it the game levels were bland, and I was not a big fan of the stacking system. When I played final fantasy tactics for the first time I absolutely hated how hard it was. It just seemed like enemies always slaughtered you, but I grew to appreciate the strategy. Tactics advance while I love the game honestly took the difficulty away. Crisis Core( a prequel) is amazing I'm at the end of the game haven't played it awhile cuz I was grinding/doing side stuff.

    Crisis Core was okay at best. The story and a number of important characters left A LOT to be desired. The greatest desire being to rip Genesis' throat out to shut him the hell up in addition to being a very poorly written antagonist. We're supposed to feel sorry for him but he was impossible to feel any sympathy for. Then they shoehorned him into the Nibelheim Incident as the true instigator of Sephiroth's heel turn rather than what he witnessed at the reactor, reading notes and going insane. as for things I liked about the game, writing Zack to be the first SOLDIER Aerith dated was interesting. It was unnecessary, but I liked it. I also liked Zack himself, but I disliked how neither he nor Cloud were really the type to mess with people. It made Cloud seem out of character and if it was never part of his character, you'd think it would have come from Zack, but it didn't. He's just like that in the original game. I liked the gameplay as well.

    I would never tell people to pick up the PSP version of Final Fantasy Tactics. While it did clean up some text and added somethings, it suffered massive hits to frame rates when casting some spells. I would say the PS1 version, although not as polished, is a much better experience.
