holy shit watching this vid i was sure it's from some guy with at least like 10k+ subs. instantly subbing and waiting for more of this stuff, this is exactly how every 1st person run on yt should be done
Ah yes, a man of wisdom. I have an N/A that after sitting for 4 years and driving it for 2 years still runs great. Maybe they are reliable after all. or not and I just haven't experienced an engine rebuild yet.
hey man! amazing video, how do you maintain these cars? i’m thinking of buying one. my uncle is willing to sell me his 10ae fc t2 for a chunk of money and an rx7 is my dream car despite its reliability factor but i’ve also been told if you just take care of it you can daily it. i do want to make this my main car that i drive and actually rely on everyday, im aware of the jankness of a 30 year old car and im also gonna be moving to an area that snows. could you tell me how you maintain it? i noticed too that your car didn’t take 40 years to actually start 🤣 love the videos man
I only have experience with the non turbo models which are far more reliable than the non turbo models but the advice should be the same: education. Learn how these engines work inside and out. Understand what they like and don’t like. Learn to feel and listen to the way they run and always keep up with preventative maintenance. It helps to have a local rotary expert guide you through troubleshooting issues but everything I’ve learned was self taught through lots of reading online. I may sound like a boring old head but these cars run best when they’re kept stick with just a freed up exhaust. So many people I know end up running into issues with their car when they keep trying to modify their engines for the sake of modification. It’s definitely more satisfying to be able to drive these cars daily with no issues than run into problems every other week because of too many “performance” mods. Good luck with the 10AE! Very unique model. Treat it with care and respect and it’ll take care of you.
@ i appreciate that! if i do decide to get it i plan on keeping it stock maybe with cosmetics then im not even sure if im gonna keep it or not once i move to MA. no idea what to do from there. im very book smart when it comes to this as ive spent sooooooo many hours learning but obviously i’ll learn more with time as theres always more to improve. i NEED to get more hands on though, thankfully my uncle is a rotary expert like CRAZY cause he’s owned a bunch and rebuilt so many which is super cool, got a whole huge background full of cars so it helps a lot and influenced me with it. turbo models are scary because you’re not the only one who told me that they are not as reliable as the NA models. i will always treat it with care and respect since its a 10ae! maybe if it was not a 10ae i wouldn’t lol i love the culture around the FC being slid around for sure! the BRZ is a choice cause i could do both lol so we’ll see! thanks for input!
@@kakudogroup thanks! I've been cautioned against rotary engines or atleast been told they are higher maintenance than your average cylinder engine. How bad is it really?
@@poladib the apex seals blow up (not that often) but they require full engine rebuild in order to replace it, the engine is pretty sensitive when it comes to temps, you gotta always wait for a bit when turning it on or drive it below 2K RPM until certain temps and the engine overall does not deal that well with overheating... so you gotta also watch out for that
@@kakudogroup not bad, I’m definitely doing more with my 2016 golf 😂. I do drive it pretty hard all things considered. Cool video btw, wish I had roads like that near me. 🤙
this is exactly the kind of content i was looking for when i typed 'fc rx7' into the search bar
Ditto
Never knew FC has that adjustable belt

I personally fell like the this video could have really benefitted from some image stabilization and a higher ride height.
Finally a channel that is fan of the fc rx7, is too hard to find good pov drives with this car
Love from the UK! I have an RX8 R3 but the FC is 100% the next car on the list- very jealous!
New high quality channel added to my collection !
Top notch. The scrapes though 😭
Yeah looking at this vid i realize my exhaust on my fc is terribly loud. Definitely need to get a new one
I miss my FC.. glad there still out there being enjoyed by others.
Getting rarer and rarer by the day
I wish I had roads like these a lot closer 💪🏽

We use generic GoPro head mounts!
The ride looks so stiff and sketchy hahaha, keep it on the road!
