after so many days of constantly searching, finally a full battery test! bozi only did until 80%
Hmm this test seems quite accurate. Just remember guys that pretty much everyone will have 4g or 5g activated on your se, even when you're just using wifi it'll use more battery. And bluetooth will most likely be activated and always on for things like airpods etc. So I'm going to cut off about 1-1.5 hours on both phones, which is still very impressive for the se 3!

I got the Iphone 2022 SE and from my last phone who had to be on life support on the wall all day it's a huge relief being able to wake up with 100% and come home from 10 hours at work and still have battery all the way till going bed. I use my phone during the entire day, music playing nonstop on 4g/wifi through a bluetooth headset, having a game that is a black hole for battery draining which I used about 2.5 hours during that entire day. My phone ended with 16% battery at the end of the day. So for medium phone use that included music, podcasts, some streaming on youtube/HBO, about 30 min of taking photos and playing around with settings and other apps was more than enough battery for my needs.
Finally someone who didnt game full time and used it as a person who consider SE 2022 would do
Please do a battery drain test between SE 2022 and the 12 Mini. Would be interesting.
Another way to think is that as the SE 2022 screen is small, you might not feel like using it as much as the bigger screen iPhones. So i think it should last even longer in real world realistic use.

Apple didn't lie it's a 2Hr. increase with just a 197mah battery bump and the latest A15, that's amazing.
For a medium user with non gamer like me,that SE 2022 would be a great daily driver,Thanks for the videos man,a lot of commitment there,i can see several times you have run out of ideas which apps to open just to squeeze the juices out

I just switched to apple from android and the poor battery life is shocking. Thank you for doing this test and confirming my suspicion that my iPhone se 2020 battery is seriously terrible.
Get the 2022 model it is amazing! The battery and performance is awesome, you could prolly do a trade in and get the newer model for 1-2 hundred bucks

@@kaarthuisplus honestly it is bad when you compare it to google pixel. I bought an SE 2022 and although the phone is not bad, I usually barely make it through the day. Last pixel I had was the 5 and I could easily pull through a day and a half, where as with the SE 2022 I have to charge up if I want to spend the night out after a day of regular use.
It's not bad, but it's also not amazing as what other people in this comment section would lead you to believe. It is deinfetly better than the other SE phones, but those really aren't good comparisons when it comes to battery life.

@@rodrigo.vaqueiro I would recommend you to upgrade to iPhone 13 mini than SE. I was thinking of buying the price but after I got the iPhone 13 mini after 3 years with iPhone 11. I can say that the iPhone 13 mini is one of the most comfortable phones to use. And the display is much better than the iPhone 11 and SE screen, and the battery is also much better. So if you decide to upgrade you better add another $100 on the iPhone 13 mini and you can find the iPhone 13 mini at very affordable prices especially after the iPhone 14 came out. Highly recommend.

Yea I read about alot of people having issues with the 2020 SE just not having good battery life at all. Good that Apple amped it up this year. Also for those who do have battery issues, you can get a "battery case" that connects to the phone like a case but it's also a power bank.

I like Iphone with home button, without notch, and with compact design. If battery can provide me at least 6. hours SOT, this seems ideal device for me. But price in Europe is very high around €599 for 128gb model. I think how much will battery last on 35% brightness settings? That's approximately how much I need indoor. 😀 Without playing games, and camera usage, only web browsing and social networking, with a lot of RUclips videos playback.

Or get se2020 with that case and you will save money :)))
@@Liviu15 depends... I will take iphone 13 mini over se because screen-to-body ratio, face id, higher resolution HD, and vibrant, deep black oled screen. Not to mention much smaller dimension than SE

Same. I am an Android user never had an iPhone before but Android phones are just getting way too big and too expensive and too complicated. This ticks alot of boxes. Compact, IP 67, wireless charging, good camera, great battery life, 5g, top processor and almost half the price of the s22
bro this is how apple demonsytes the efficiency of its 15 chips, by putting it into a tiny phone that lasts longer than the galaxy a22 with a 3700 battery and the se only has a 2018 millamp hour battery
My old phone only had 3-4 hours of video playback battery life and that worked just fine for me throughout my day.

The battery life isn't great for the se 2, but still it's ok for most people i wouldn't mind charging it once in a while, especially now that the price is pretty good.
Just got the iPhone se 2 for £145, wouldn’t mind charging it once during afternoon and you are good to go for a day. Battery being small, it charges fast as well

I'm retired, have a couple external batteries and and bought a new SE2 (128GB) from my carrier at $150 below Apple's price; just about 2 weeks prior to the release of the SE3. I wanted to stay in the Apple ecosystem, not spend a lot of money, have no need for the fancy cameras & features. As it is the SE2 is an upgrade for me from the original SE (64GB)-that was at 79% battery health after 4.5 years. Yeah, maybe not the greatest battery life but, it does what I need, so It's all good. Looks like a good test ya did, but I'm not on my phone like that. As someone said, "The SE is the phone ya get your parents."

7 hours on wifi is commendable that puts it on par with iPhone 11, which people love the battery life on those. For a small phone, 13 mini excluded, that 40% increase over previous gen makes it useable
I wish I could get over 7 hours on my s22U! Imagine the A15 in the S22U, 12 hours plus! Apple at the moment are so far ahead in efficiency it is truly extraordinary. So those that clammered to decry the SE3 battery should be bowing thei head in shame at being such an Apple hater. I feel that most people buying the SE3 will only use 2-3 hours a day so could easily get 1.5 days use, maybe longer! So those whining about you do not need all the power of the A15, maybe true, but great future-proofing, the real reason is the wonder of the A15 battery life, and that is a killer feature.

The question is why noone makes battery drain on 4g? Without wifi? It means with 4G the phone can do the half of that. My iPhone 11 at 89% battery health makes 4:30 Hours with that brightnes with 4G playing 1-2 houers and using socials and watching youtoube

I still can manage on 2020 to last my battery from 6 am to 2 am and plug it 10%+, when its rough day, its really how you use the phone, if only for communication, paying, transport apps, some camera etc.

Appreciate the video. That 2nd Gen is still far superior to my 1st Gen. My battery won't last 2 hours watching video/camera/music/sending photos. Maybe I was given a generic battery when purchased July 2020. The battery life was 95% when bought, now 90%.
I'm actually buying the 2nd Gen today with twice the storage, July 2022. I prefer the 12 mini, but its over twice the price. This 2nd will be a nice upgrade for me. Perhaps the 3rd Gen may be my next phone in 2024.
How much did you spend on the 2nd Gen? Did you get a 2nd hand one? Battery life should be 100% if you purchased a new phone. My 1st gen SE's battery is now only 82%. When I take it out it won't even last half a day even if I don't do anything with it.

What was not shown in your video was the condition of the batteries, I think you should have taken that point into account.
Is the 2020 SE brand new as well, or has it been used since 2020? If used, then it's not a good comparison.
He says that the 2020 version is at 99% max capacity and the 2022 is at 100% max capacity at the start, so, shouldnt make a big difference.

Honestly, I'm impressed by the SE 2020'S battery life. The SE 3 is good, but the android competition offers way better and more where I'm living. Where I'm living the SE 3 is 43k ₹ ~ 570$. Phones like little half that price have a decent processor, much much much better screem, debatable camera and definitely better battery life.

I have a se 2020, I agree the battery life is bad, but I've made peace with it by keeping a powerbank on me always.
Make better choices people, you can save money and get a better experience. The SE 3 isn't worth it untill it's like 200₹ or 15-18k ₹

a big reason on why the iphone se 2020 ran out in 5 hours is probably because batterys degrade overtime and looking at a video from 2020 about the phone shows that it used to last an amazing 9 hours

I think the SE 2022 has more improvements because I think ever since the iPhone 13 was released. They decide to make the phones way better.
I have the 2020 se came from 2 6s’s and a 7 great switch over for people with almost obsolete phones and it still has the home button with the added bonus of since its glass it has wireless charging! Picked myself up a brand new otterbox at goodwill for $5 been great phone so far
