    Welcome to Gun City! In this video, Ferg shoots the GSG STG44.
    A classic replica of a WW2 era rifle for the everyday small game hunter and budding target shooter! The German classic - now as a true to original replica in calibre .22 LR! The famous assault rifle was developed in 1944 by Hugo Schmeisser and influenced many rifle designs of the post-war years.
    The .22 calibre full metal self-loading rifle features real wooden stock and wooden grip panels, as well as a single-action trigger, and is approved for sport shooting. The mechanical parts are made of high-quality steel.

    How amazing would it be to still be allowed the semi version of original calibre 😮‍💨

      You could, for at least a little while. There used to be a semi-auto copy called the PTR-44, in 8mm kurz.

    Very nice rifle. I have the same one but I mounted an ACOG clone on it, so everyone at the gun range looks at me funny. ^_^ It's a fun gun for me, I have the 25 round magazine version and reuse my kar98k mauser sling since they are compatible. This one reminds me of the G3 and CETME with it's short magazine. Still a cool video of a very cool gun. ^_^

    I was trying to figure out why you had to ramp up the rear sight for close in shooting, and it occurred to me that you're firing so close you had to lift the sights so your line of sight compensated for the roughly 1.5" difference in the line of bore to the line of sight. Meaning you're now intersecting as the bullet comes up in its arc through the line of sight, and will eventually pass through the line of sight again far downrange. This BTW is the method we use in the military as our zero at 25M is also roughly the zero for 300M, representing the upward and downward crossing of the line of sight in the arc of the bullet.
    How's that for getting technical.

    Which ammo do you use ? Cause for me it's the worst gun that I bought. The gun is A1 clean every time I go to shoot it and It always jam I dont undestand I just buy CCI at 1680 fps to give it an other chance.

    • @guncitynewzealand
      @guncitynewzealand  Год назад +1

      Hi Maxime, we used Winchester Powerpoint 40gr 22LR Ammo. Rated for the same fps as that CCI you mentioned. Might be worth a try! Also, try loading one less round into the magazine, as the pressure on the spring can sometimes force a jam :) - JK

    Hardly anything more unsatisfying then someone who keeps firing in semi-auto while everyone is waiting in vain for the full-auto mag dump.

      Hi Paul, sorry to disappoint. We're based in New Zealand, where on a standard Firearms Licence all we can have are semi autos! - JK
