The glorious Blues & Rock of the 60's, 70's will NEVER be beaten for every genre of music.
Those of us who lived it knew it was a special era.

    Rest in peace Kim.
We enjoyed the time you spent booging in our town!
Detroit was definitely your second home!

Even the name "Savoy Brown" is 60's cool, they ARE pure rock & roll.
Chris Youlden's long asides to the audience stir the crowd into a frenzy.
Boogie 'til the break of dawn. In Edmonton! uhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh

"Upon the Detroit return of Savoy Brown at Eastown...The chanting began...growing stronger and stronger-“Savoy Brown” and “The Boogie, The Boogie!”-until finally the sound had become a roar. “THE BOOGIE!”
Yes, we all had heard “The Boogie,” but not just heard it, we knew it, for the album on which it appeared was a staple of any Motor-City music collection, owned by it seemed everyone in attendance. Savoy Brown had immortalized in vinyl their dedication of this song to Detroit, and this fact was akin to the band now hearing our call.
The curtains slowly parted in a hypnotic glaze, the colorful venue lights increasing in illumination to match our own enthusiasm. Deafening cheers bellowed out, and in magical unison we were all suddenly up on our feet, our screams surely loud enough to be heard throughout the entire city. The band opened with their first number…" Riding The Sky ~ Mischa

Ah...it was the late 60's, so many good bands, and the really good ones all had a 10 or 12 minute "boogie jam" track. There was the Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Love, Cream, Aum, Fleetwood Mac, (the Peter Green years,) Ten Years After, Savoy Brown, and my personal favorite, Canned Heat. I still own all this vinyl, I guess I will until it's time for my final Boogie!

Around '70 i guess, saw Savoy Brown and the Faces ( with Rod Stewart )at the Stanley Theater in Jersey City.Savoy Brown came on first, finished with an awesome boogie (audience was up and jumping and stomping and boogien')and they OWNED the show.Faces came on after them and tho they were real good they never quite captured the audience.Savoy Brown ruled that evening, tremendous performance!

"Dedicated to the people of Detroit." I was there at The Grande Ballroom, which is what he is singing about. We loved them there. And they loved it there, too.
