I was at the premier of Street Corner Talking Album held at the Palladium in Hollywood Ca. 1972. Great wild concert I'll never forget. Their use of the Whirlitzer electric piano and B3 organ was off the hook. Simmons was at his prime despite the band losing their super vocalist Chris Youlden. Dave Walker filled in just fine.
Damn! Actual moving film?! This brings loving this long player to another level.Any time tape like this surfaces,I feel as if I happened upon a hidden treasure. Because that's exactly what I've done.
in all the times I have seen Kim, and all his bands, I did get to see them do this in a small bar in Toronto, about 20 people were there, it was the same day they were one of the bands at a musicfest where a wicked thunderstorm came through at about thier 4th song, so we drove up, I heard Kim playing his guitar in a hotel room, explained the story, so me and my buddy followed them into the bar ( like we were with the band LOL ), anyway, it was the only time I've seen him play this, always has been one of my favorite tunes
People here need to be nice to each other.. Listen to Dave Mason "shouldn't have took more than you gave ".. great tune and really brings back incredible memories .. also his song " Mystic Traveler".. he did a number of great songs... it's a shame how many people really didn't get into him back in the day or even after.. he was big for a while but a lot of people don't remember him
I want to re-edit and improve this video since Ive come across some better footages but havent got time. Kim Simmonds is the one in white sweater right at the beginning of the video
"Dave turned over the mic....." lmao I happen to know, from Dave himself, he always hated singing this song. Why put his vocals over shots of someone else singing? Sacriledge......
the original guys are on 3 albums 1 of them being " Street Corner talking"" the " Lions share"" and " Hellbound Train." Thanks for the reply , Lavalley
Its actually dave walker's voice here. he sang in the original LP recording but the one in the video isnt him. This was overdubbed. I think he (Dave) is the one heckling him wearing a bonnet
this song I guess was originally recorded in a jamming type of session. I dont think it was ever reproduced this good in other live performances. I've seen/heard some live versions by them, its nowhere near as good as this one. In the recording of this song, everything simply fell into its right place. Hard to recreate it. May i remind all, this video was dubbed. Practice session in the 80s with the original version recorded in the 70s dubbed on top. Some members you see in the video are not the original members who made the studio recording like the vocalist.
Looks like that whacky terbacky stuff. Makes you play blues like a genius. I think these guys didn't need the help, although maybe it made them play even better. :)

On this particular download, who's the clowns lip sync'n? I'm sorry, it's just sad and lame. Savoy brown were young when this was recorded and this dude pretending, isn't. Dudes, get a life. I still listen to only the 60's-80's songs and I'm 65 why change a good thing? We had it damn good growing up in that era-loved it
It was just great Music....good music is eternal.
That is not Chris Youlden singing vocals its Dave walker .
what a gem of an album... priceless
Those were good times...thanks Kim..
oh how I long for my youth xoxoxo and all I can do is cry …..damn

Not Chris, it is Dave Walker.
Tim Reding: Distinct lack of 'Youlden's' on this album though!
@@brucereed4145 It is Dave walker singing yes, but the "basement video" doesn't look like Dave Walker. Don't think it is DW.
