    Get well soon , Gary. I had the same injury, torn meniscus, back in 2010. Had surgery and some physical therapy afterwards, no problem. Will pray for you to heal quickly!

    Get well soon. I like making my mom's chicken noodle soup in the winter, boiling a chicken for hours in water or chicken stock with a bay leaf, whole onion, couple carrots and whole celery stock to get that great bone broth. When the meat on the chicken is done, I pull the meat off and put the bones back in to boil some more. I boil my noodles and cook my veggies separately and then add them to the strained stock with the chopped meat so they all heat up together. For veggies i like to add chopped carrot, celery, fresh mushrooms, spinach, peas and for pasta i love to use seashells. Even my doc agrees the bone broth works at helping with colds. 😁 and I like the memories of my Mom.

    I also thought the cast iron pan underneath the aluminum stock pot was a great idea. They have an Induction single burner with pans you can use on them that cook faster. My most favorite soup is chicken with stock broth, sauté onion, celery, garlic in oil and butter, pour into soup, add baby carrots, then when done add a pkg of frozen spinach or fresh Kale with the large veins cut out. You can add small potatoes but I try to keep it low carb. Oh, and it would be great with your homemade sourdough bread! If I want it faster I use rotisserie chicken.

      Hi Tanya. Thanks for watching. We got to officially move into the house August of 2022. It still not 100% done but pretty darn close. We are still waiting on our gutters and need to finish painting the exterior. The house build videos will start popping up by this weekend.
      And thanks for the well wishes for Gary. He’s doing somewhat better. Still hurts but he’s working thru it.

      Yes when we first got the new channel established I posted a couple of current vlogs... and then decided to share our backstory and started the catching up the channel episodes. I can barely function with a daily release so we will go back to realtime episodes in 2024 as soon as we finish updating the channel. We should be back to regular weekly vlogs in March. Thanks for watching and be sure to checkout our Catching Up the Vlog playlist if you haven't already. 😘

    In Arizona, Fry’s (which is Kroger chain) is much more reasonable than Safeway on most items. I would think it would be close to the same there. Watch your Fred Meyer ads and their clearance items, because that’s where you can really save money.

    • @LivingFreeAlaska
      @LivingFreeAlaska  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah we do usually go to Freddy's here if not Costco or our local grocery chain Three Bears but lately Freddy's has had stocking issues and that is why we headed to Safeway. For example a week before Christmas Fred Myers didn't have any fresh (or frozen for that matter) turkeys for Christmas meals and they said they weren't bringing any more in before the holiday... so off to Carrs (Safeway) we went. Just another Alaska Factor we have to deal with since all our groceries are shipped up each week from Washington State.

      It sickens you that we have nice things? Well bless your heart! Thats awfully judgmental of you and just outright rude. You don't know us or what we have sacrificed to have a nice home or nice things. But thanks for watching... I won't let your trolling bother me because your the one who looks ugly in this situation. Have a great day and hope you feel better since your so sickened by us.

      @LivingFreeAlaska  9 месяцев назад +6

      @@Cajunbebe Oh this just means we are doing something right. Been 8 years on RUclips and well the haters are apart of the game. I don’t know why people think that people can’t have nice things. I’ve had my fair share of eating egg sandwiches for a week until the payday. Opening our private lives up for the public to consume isn’t always easy but I’ve learned to just let it go and throw a little snarkiness right back at them. Karma will do the rest. Thanks for supporting us! Have a great evening.

      I am jealous of what you have. From start to finish looked hard and I know it was. And I am happy that you have the support with you. But being alone changes everything. That word sickening was meant for me when I had no help and working hard like you guys.

    • @LivingFreeAlaska
      @LivingFreeAlaska  9 месяцев назад +2

      @@celiastich4529 I took your comment a completely different way. I’m sorry for my snarkiness. I am use to trolls and I took your comment wrong. Yes agree without a support system and the proper equipment Alaska can be hard… very hard. There is no way I could do Alaska without Gary! Hands down no questions asked. I also feel our support system of friends to show us how to “Alaska” has helped us tremendously to thrive.
      Thanks for explaining your original comment and again I apologize. Welcome to the channel.
