- G'day,
Today I had to cut a metre off a LillyPilly hedge. The trunks were ranging from 40mm to 70mm thick so I used my Ego multi tool with pole chainsaw attachment which did a fantastic job.

Cheers … does it matter time of year when you cut back that hard? Should you not do a hard cut back in winter?
Hi, that is the correct way to do it.
I always advise customers that with hard cut backs coming into winter that the recovery is going to be very slow and it will be bald , in this situation 3 months before regrowth.
As we are not cutting the sides hard back the hedge will still look ok
The customer wanted me to do it anyway.
Then it becomes case of if I don't do it someone else will.
I appreciate your comment
Thank you
Scotty
Why use shade cloth
It dries quicker than a tarp, cheaper and doesn’t rip as easy.
Thanks.
