I've literally been waiting for you to fix grond AI for years. In that time you've added a number of helicopters and maps. Most of which is still in early access. It's taken you longer to stop the AI from having laser accuracy than it takes companies to develop entire games. Why would you think I trust you to finish this map, or any of the other items still in early access?
Hi, we have release a number of improvements to ground AI recently, including pathfinding, their accuracy vs air units, and more. These continue to be worked on as well, I can assure your with maps like Iraq and Afghanistan, we understand how important this work is. Thanks! -NineLine/Norm
@@EagleDynamicsTV For example: The improvements to the ground AI have the same Quality how the tanker boom operator AI last year and that was worst work if you compare it with before and by then the tanker boom operator ai was already very bad! The old AI was better and more realistic as youre "rework". The PDLs are bad visible since Years. Thats unsatisfying! The F-4E clearly demonstrates the evilness and inertia of this mechanism. So you talk what you will do, but the results are rather sobering! Even the Changes of the A-10 HUD are rediculess for the game and you know the art how you do it and you know it! The projection of the HUD Data ist not bind on the glass and if you use SnapView the HUD does not scale with the position like the rest of the cockpit, but is moved together. If you move your head forward, the HUD font does not scale ... only the position for readability is shifted, font etc. remains the same - this is nonsense and you sell it as “realistic proof”. For your claims and statements for years, but the implementation is always more desirable. But every module are so programmed. That wouldn't even be a problem if you didn't keep putting forward this ‘realistic’ argument and ‘trust me’ when it doesn't fit. That's why I won't be buying any more products from you, because you make demands on your suppliers that you yourselves can no longer meet. There are always bugs and problems with every update. Sure, you need a cashflow for youre company but this way i dont go with it! Sorry, so much maps are not finished an have a bad performance > Kola Afghanista and nearly new Iraq. Deliver the quality you always propagate and no 1/3-Maps and call that "EarlyAccess!
Nope, I'm done. Not buying anymore partially developed products until you give me more reason to actually play the game. Like a dynamic campaign might be nice.
100%, I’m done flying around aimlessly trying to figure out what I should do to make my time flying around more fun. Scripted campaigns are not cutting it.
With you on that boat, DCS offers a lot of buttons to press, but not much to achieve with those buttons. Dynamic campaign is now "in progress" for 13 years!!
Maybe you should go play war thunder? You do realize this is a sim ? Also there's allot to do if ya have friends to play with on a mp server I agree with the unfinished stuff
Because that would take longer, and we need access to more modules and terrains rather than small fixes and changes to the terrain or pixels on a aircraft
OK the map looks pretty nice and will be a good area for missions but I'm not dropping any more money any early access modules until the F-15E situation is resolved and the other maps get properly finished.

@@damsonn True, it's always some kind of ups and downs. Especially if you're not on the cutting edge of hardware. I literally dumped DCS for several years when it ran like hot garbage on ATi cards and ATi refused to update their driver optimizations for "that ooold game". As of lately, it seems to be quite decent for me, though. And since I finally got my Moza AB9 now, I want to spend more time in DCS again. @@EagleDynamicsTVWell obviously they aren't doing a good job since they're not finishing the other maps first. Who cares who works on what. It's bad taste when you keep asking for money without finishing products already paid for.
ED products that still in early access: CH-47F: Early access. AH-64D: Early access. F-16C: Early access. Supercarrier: Early access. Mosquito FB VI: Early access. Mi-24P: Early access. Yak-52: Early access. WWII Assets Pack: Early access. Southwest Afghanistan Map: Early access. Afghanistran Map: Early access. I'm not including any 3rd party addons, if so the list will be longer. I bought all modules I listed above expect CH-47F, because I had enough, I don't want to pay almost full price to support a product that might remains in the early access phase for over 4 years, or even longer. I'd rater spend full price to buy OH-58D because Polychop was able to deliver a finished product on the release date, for somehow this became a rare virtue in DCS. I'm a software dev, when companies start releasing unfinished products like this, especially at this pace, it's usually means 2 things: 1) The company has huge technical debt. 2) The company has huge financial issues. Often this two things come hand-in-hand.
There is so much more that needs to be improved upon within core DCS, I just don't understand the focus on pumping out half baked maps, I guess its the most cost effective way to raise funds. There are still some hideous looking AI assets within the game, the AI itself needs a lot more work, the Dynamic Campaign seems to be a long way off, the ATC system is really outdated, the list goes on and on...... I really love DCS and my comments come from a yearning for it to improve and live up to its potential. I feel like maybe what we really need is a modern competitor to DCS that forces ED to focus on the more important stuff.
The people that work on and create maps cannot do core improvements, it is not their area of expertise. The core guys are hard at work at things like weather, AI, DTC, Dynamic Campaign, and more. Even with Maps, Iraq and Afghanistan, they are two separate terrain teams, and one wont impact the other. Thanks! -NineLine/Norm
Guys look, I've supported this company since the early 2000s, the recent complications amongst partners and general instability are concerning and for obvious reasons ED can't speak openly about the true reality of these situations. It's just safer for me (and most) to just avoid modules for now until the partners situation is resolved publically. Map looks great though!
We totally understand and appreciate your concerns and continue striving toward a good-faith resolution on these issues. Thanks for taking the time to comment. -NineLine/Norm
Afghanistan didn’t meet my expectations. Trailer looked very promising like this one… Same with Kola map from Orbx.. I never buy a map anymore without seeing it on twitch and RUclips before.
@johnwicks4936 after the last update the mountains do have more jagged edges. But Scandinavian mountains aren't as pointy as other mountain ranges. It's one of the oldest in the world and has like a billion years of erosion. Vs the himalayas that are just 50 millions years old. So you're never going to get very jagged and pointy mountains on Kola.
Sorry, not pre-purchasing anything else. DCS is in a state of promises with very few accomplishments, it’s looking like a stock investment at this point, with the difference that I’m not gaining anything in DCS. Eagle Dynamics better start delivering or DCS is going to die.
@@EagleDynamicsTVwhen is the last time any ED module has been finished? Calling it "Out of EA" when there are clearly still features missing or massive bugs doesn't mean finished. Go ahead, we'll wait.

No thanks - finish the existing promised stuff first. For example, the Super Carrier that is in early access for many years and still doesn’t handle the iconic F14 properly. Too much new stuff being pushed while existing stuff hanging with little progress for way too long. No more early access for ED modules for me.
Caucasus would be awesome with our new tech, the issue is that it would require being done from the ground up as its our only map that still runs on hybrid terrain tech. @@EagleDynamicsTV "Rapid progress", hahaha. You all haven't been able to finish a single aircraft in the time it took Asobo to make 2 entire flight sims.
Sadly, in my view ED has destroyed their business model by showing that money spent on any of these DCS modules can end up being flushed down the toilet when contract issues mean they can simply stop supporting modules. At least that’s how it is for me now, as there have been quite a few new module releases now that I’ve not been able to bring myself to purchase, because I no longer have any faith that I’ll get the chance to enjoy them.
I have pretty much all of the modules except South Atlantic and the new peninsula but not one more dime until the R@ZBAM issue is 100% resolved. My Eagle awaits.
Nice map, but it will be same story for me: What to do on it if one is a single player? Three or four basic missions like free flight, cold start etc. and otherwise a big nothing. Sure, I can make my own missions, but honestly: I can´t enjoy my own mission where I know exactly what to expect.. Not mentioning huge amount of time spent on making own missions. So I have to wait for someone to make a campaign on the map... Weeks? Months? Years? Until there's a dynamic campaign, there's no point in buying anything for me. That's what I really miss about DCS - the career. Being able to experience conflict/war as a regular frontline pilot with squadron background, history of kills and missions etc. Simply having in DCS what Pat Wilson's Campaign generator offers in IL2 BOX. Not more empty maps and more half done airplanes...
Cant believe they are pumping out more content where basic functionality has not been imrpoved for a decade: - No DTC integrated to properly plan your sortie or configure your aircraft!!! - oldschool Comms menu using F-Keys - very basic ATC - No weather improvements - clouds not blocking AI LoS - No IADS and Skynet behaviour - bad AoE System - no implemented warehouse system - missing Dynamic Campaign.. - ... Hi, a number of those things are in development and we do understand the importance. DTC is in active development, ATC is planned, you can see some of the improvements on the Supercarrier module. Weather has been improved, and we are planning new fog very shortly. Clouds blocking LOS is no easy task, every AI unit needs to be able to see and understand there is a cloud there and how they should react. Seriously ED, please stop spitting out one new unwanted module after another and start finishing and fixing existing modules and deliver features that has been promised for the near future years ago. In 2023 you promised us for the near future a fixed ATC, real dynamic weather, dynamic campaigns, better AI for ground units, better models for infantry, and so much more. Nothing of that has been delivered so far and we are having the end of 2024. The ATC is more broken than ever. We still don’t have fog with the new clouds. There is no sign of dynamic campaigns. The ground unit AI is still dumb. Please ED, do us and yourself a favor and start delivering what you promised to us in the future and stop wanting more and more of our money before keeping your promises.
I remember Wags saying somewhere in 2018 that that would be the ultimate goal. There's a reason that Ugra left out the corner that's being covered by The Channel in Normandy 2.
How about to deliver promised next part of Afgnanistan? The promise was that after launch the next part in 3 months.... That was clear that you (ED) do not deliver on time which is not new fact. How about to update Afghan in terms of massive quality differences on the released map? Iraq looks for me like copy&paste from Afghan assets. There are tons of other open points. Solve them first.

I'm a software dev, when companies start releasing unfinished products like this, especially at this pace, it's usually means 2 things:
1) The company has huge technical debt.
Sadly another no from me until this whole mess is sorted, though now a stack of many modules I want to buy. No matter who is to blame, or truth lies somewhere in between, something needs sorting to restore faith
We get it, we really do. We are doing our best on working towards a good faith solution so all our customers can enjoy all their modules and all those yet to come. Thanks! -NineLine/Norm
Not buying anything else until my modules start working again , fix the broken modules before releasing new ones
What part of Iraq are you trying to recreate here? This doesn't look anything like the Iraq I remember.
See the FAQ for the full map forum.dcs.world/topic/359200-dcs-iraq-faq/ -NineLine/Norm
Now we need a Whiskey Cobra!
I'll pass thanks, last thing we need is more maps especially half baked ones. Dynamic campaign, maybe even a co-op campaign would give more life to DCS
The Dynamic campaign is in full development right now, we just shared an update over the summer and I am sure we will share more news again soon. Thanks. -NineLine/Norm
_Another_ early access map? again? It hasn't even been 4 months since the early access launch of Afghanistan
Really? complaining? 😂 bro tf?
As stated in the newsletter today: "Please note that the Afghanistan map is still being developed in parallel and is also making rapid progress on both improving the available Southwest Region and the upcoming East Region that includes such noteworthy locations as Kabul, Bagram, and Jalalabad."
@@MattWagner I've read the newsletter and appreciate that you've echoed it back here for clarity.
Actions speak much louder than words when it comes to updates in DCS as we've heard for years, across many modules, that "updates are on the way". In other words, I doubt anybody would hold their breath on receiving an Afghanistan update soon because it's very difficult to take ED at their word when talking about updates.
Furthermore, we know already that the Afghanistan trailer depicted a terrain that looked very different to what people received - that's a fact.
It's your business model and your decision but maybe finish something first before launching _yet another_ early access product. Nonetheless, that's a tale as old as time itself. You're clearly full steam ahead with this business model of having your fingers in many pies.
@@ColinM9991 Like you said, actions speak louder than words, I hope you enjoy the upcoming Afghan map update. Thanks.
@@ColinM9991 DCS is looking more and more like a ponzi-like scheme
hopefully the pacific theatre stuff is almost done. Many people want to fly that era! Would be great to fly those f6f's and corsairs on this map too!
Map looks amazing but please ED finish first some of the proyects like Afganistán, and make some assests with each map like units etc cause yes, you can fly a beautiful map but always against russian units cause there is nearly nothing else.
From today's newsletter: "Please note that the Afghanistan map is still being developed in parallel and is also making rapid progress on both improving the available Southwest Region and the upcoming East Region that includes such noteworthy locations as Kabul, Bagram, and Jalalabad."
@@MattWagner That is good news Matt but please make more assets for us editors. If had DCS for a long long time and we have very few assets for maps like Afganistan siria. Name you a few examples Afgan warriors with stingers, Ied bomb teams or rebels planting bombs, lots of crazy tecnicals with crazy old weapons and stuff like this could make this Sim alive.
Just waiting they finish the Caucasus. The most important map of the decade.... and is only half baked.
I have to agree, Dynamic Campaign, Dynamic Weather, Supercarrier! Please Address the core of DCS. I'm finding it hard to fly anymore "It's getting Boring"
I just supported you anyway! ED Please!!! ADDRESS Core of DCS!
The core is very important to us, the the Dynamic Campaign is making major improvements towards release. Not to worry, this map team is only focused on Iraq and others are working on these things. Thanks! -NineLine/Norm
May I add some :
1. Proper communication. ATC, AWACS, wingmans, flight member etc
2. Improve VR performance. Last update make my VR performance drop
3. Where's the DTC ?
hahahaha no! Not until you earn my trust back. No product or module purchase.
I would like they Finish the F-15E...i want they add more armament
"Dad what's a rack?"
"It's a country son"
Please please dont do th Early Access Afghanistan approach. This will be another map that we will have to wait another 5 years for any progress/details
Early Access is there to provide access early, meaning the map might not be fully development, but you get to try it sooner than if you wait for full release. We realize some may want to wait until its more complete, and that is ok. Thanks. -NineLine/Norm
And MSFS 2028 will be out by then, with photo real terrain and train, boat, and truck simulation.
It's wild to think that Asobo has made 2 entire flightsims in the time the Viper has been in early access.
@@EagleDynamicsTVYou know full well that's not the issue people are having with this business model.
Amazing. Now I can go find those WMDs my damn self
Who's gonna tell him?! 😬
@@nibbler2281 lol
Abandoned modules in the new map ad, lol
It seems ED needs it's own map, as the one that included respect to both end users and partners have been lost.
I know that ED does not care but...500 EUR budgeted for missing modules and maps in 2024 are suspended from early February.
Eat that Nick.
We are very sorry about the issues we have experience this year, I can assure you that we do care, and we remain focused on a good faith resolution to all this so that your investment into ours and RAZBAMs products will remain valid and worthwhile. Thank you. -NineLine/Norm
As much as I would like to do GW1, GW2 inspired campaigns and events it’s a hard pass due to low confidence.
No more early access. I’ll stick to buying products when they are finished.
Dear ED, I have invested hundreds of €'s in you and your partners , purchasing 10 aircraft, the supercarrier, 4 maps and 11 campaigns. I used to be a huge fan of DCS. I am willing to pay for a functioning (not early-development) dynamic campaign add-on that works for all aircraft and maps. I am not willing to pay for any more other stuff until the core has been upgraded and stabilized, and the dynamic camping is available. Thanks and regards
Nice! But how about putting full focus on Afghanistan first to complete this map?
Or do you manage to develop both maps with full focus at the price of a full price title
Afghanistan is being done by a separate map team, we have multiple. There is a huge update brewing for that map soon, thanks! -NineLine/Norm
@@EagleDynamicsTV Okay! Thx!
EDIT! Wow you delete my last message here with the link to your forums about the AFG map problems...
@@NoXiDLP I doubt that happened. RUclips usually automatically deletes any comments that has links to cull the bot problem.
If you've been around for any length of time you'd know they do not, but they'll say they do. Asobo will release their 3rd flightsim before Afghanistan is ever out of early access... If it ever is.
@@EagleDynamicsTVAfghanistan map has a ton of potential. I hope "soon" means this year.
RIP F-15E
Excited, but another split map launch and Afghanistan still awaiting content, hopefully this isn't splitting resources.
No, not at all, this is a different map team working on Iraq, thanks! -NineLine/Norm
@@EagleDynamicsTV that is an appreciated update thanks 9L
As stated in today's newsletter: "Please note that the Afghanistan map is still being developed in parallel and is also making rapid progress on both improving the available Southwest Region and the upcoming East Region that includes such noteworthy locations as Kabul, Bagram, and Jalalabad."
I think it is time to clean some of the dusty corners.
It looks amazing, ED! Is it me or did you add translucency/SSS to trees? Kind of looks like a atmospheric lighting overhaul as well.
I’ll sure check Iraq out after the release of Afghanistan. ❤️
Good eye, a number of those things are in testing in our dev build and hope to see them in release soon. Thanks! -NineLine/Norm
Seriously ED, please stop spitting out one new unwanted module after another and start finishing and fixing existing modules and deliver features that has been promised for the near future years ago. I am really a big fan of DCS World and enjoyed it for so many years. But your actual attitude really makes me sick. We, your community, don’t want anymore excuses or broken promises. We want you to deliver what you have promised us years ago.
If only we could combine Iraq, Syria and Sinai map to big middle east region
I remember Wags saying somewhere in 2018 that that would be the ultimate goal. There's a reason that Ugra left out the corner that's being covered by The Channel in Normandy 2.
Please say this is the last desert map.
Hi as we mentioned in the newsletter Afghanistan is being worked on in parallel and has its own team. The work is going well and we hope to share progress with you all soon. Thanks - Scott / bignewy
@@EagleDynamicsTV guys thanks for answering the community’s questions on this release. I think it’s pretty clear by responses across various socials of what the vibe is. I’ll leave it at that. But just wanted to say - please look after yourselves and don’t take the hate personally. Flight simmers can be a toxic bunch.
@@ratsac In my case i am not toxic or hater (mentioned it above).
Coz your comment is here so i dont wanna be somehow implicated as an hater.
yeah sorry for any confusion mate. Was definitely not referring to you or your comment.
Wow, looks great. Are we going to see the entirety of the Afghanistan map come out before this, however?

Can't wait to check out 34.3507 N and 43.7065 E.
They didnt show any "military" installations, makes me worry.
Maybe have the Map team improve our current maps before making a new one...
What a concept 😂
