iPads are a luxury item for most people. Play a few games, watch RUclips, check mail, etc. Not a lot of power users out there that need to upgrade every year. My iPad is several years old and still works fine. That's the same reason people are holding on to their phones longer.
or arguably for most people an ipad is all the computer they need as well as being convenient for youtube etc. I keep an old macbook around just for the occasional need for a proper browser (some sites need it) or excel work a couple times a year when doing my budgeting. But most of the time it sits in a drawer. Give me Macos dual boot ipad pro and I’ll update and sell the macbook
I would be surprised. Typical support time for iOS devices is 5 years and we're now 7 years in. Mine is still great, but I also don't know how many more updates it could handle.
I’m an orchestral musician and most everyone I know uses these. I’ve saved so much paper… the only thing that would convince me to upgrade is a larger screen size than 12.9.

Same here, altho recently ive come to appreciate paper way more since in the opera where I work my eyes start to hurt when im looking at a relatively bright screen istead of paper for 3hrs straight
I’m an architect, I make illustrations in the iPad, the new sketch up app is also nice, and AutoCAD is serviceable. For me the iPad is in a better spot for my workflow than the m1-3 Macs that still have compatibility issues and I’m even considering ditching the MacBook for a windows pc, but I’d never ditch the iPad.
Luke my dude, iPad is $449. It went down in price after 15 years of inflation. It's a solid device and holds down the spot the original iPad created. The Pros are a different thing. I expect the Pros will go up even further in price this year... especially since Airs are taking their place with Mini LED screens, M series chips, and 12.9 configuration. Pros are going to be positioned as truly premium pro products, with more impressive screens than ever, unique high end accessories, and more internal power than we usually expect from the pros. iPads are their own device category, not comparable to Macs. Expect the iPad Pro's price to blow past the MacBook Air, and catch up with MacBook Pro.
Yeah they're barely the same products anymore -- I think it's clear Apple is moving the Pro in a different direction and soon enough they will be the first and maybe only iPads to get MacOS. And the only way for that to make financial sense for Apple is for them to be $2000 machines. That way you aren't killing the MBA or lesser iPads.
That's very impressive in terms of longevity. I'm on a 2017 iPad Pro (2nd gen) and 2015 iMac 5K, so I'm also holding out, especially for an iMac >27inches with M3 or M4.
I think what we should be asking about the iPad, indeed all of the Apple products, is “what needs updating?” Do we really need a physical upgrade or redesign? What problems or limitations would be overcome by changes? I don’t think the timing of this May event is insignificant, just a month and a half (or so) before WWDC where OS changes and a new road map could be implemented to take advantage of possible hardware changes. We have all gotten so used to the marketing ballyhoo around a timed release schedule, that we have overlooked whether or not we NEED new devices, software. Isn’t the iPad, or iPhone, or Mac good enough? What more can we gain by adhering to a rerelease schedule without true innovation?
It's been the same problem for over 6 years now: amazing hardware, limited software. I have the m1 air and even then I only use it for note taking and the occasional 2nd display.
I feel like my MacBook and my iMac do everything that I need and more than the iPad, especially given how expensive they’ve gotten. In the past, I’ve had iPads and I felt like I haven’t really used them compared to my MacBook.
My coworker is an artist, drawing illustrations and stuff. She loves her giant Samsung tablet with Oled display, high refresh rate and small bezels. Apple got some serous competition here.
This is what I mean, before Android was unusable for tablet, but now is just enough and decent. Other way ipad is just a device that can be basic, of a entry level to start to get subscriptions in app store. (Media consumption, productivity apps, life style apps, creativity apps) In a nest of subscriptions!
The iPad is basically just a mini TV/ larger phone. It’s there to offer a larger screen at a compact portable size. That’s all it is. That’s why it’s popular.
"There have not been any updates to any iPads since October 2022." I am a bit nostalgic for those days when you could buy a 48K ZX Spectrum or a Commodore 64 in 1982 and use it all the way till 1989 or 1990... Must be that I am growing old...
That’s where it is today. Only that we’ve gotten used to shorter release cycles and the dopamine kicks associated with that. But that doesn’t mean that people are upgrading all the time. Heck I know several people who still use the Mac Pro 2009 professionally. As it was pointed out in the video, most people really don’t see any need to upgrade their iPads these days. Also RUclipsrs are pretty dependent on news and rumours to keep getting content and excite the viewers. That’s why they often make releases seem more important than they really are.
My last ipad is 10 years old and still in use. You don’t need to upgrade every year. Even laptops easily last a decade, of course with a battery replacement, and ssd upgrade
I’m still using a 2012 MacBook Pro and a 2012 Mac mini. If not for Apple limiting updates to newer devices, these would work fine with every app. For regular users, they still work well, with the main downside being you’re stuck with an older version of Microsoft Office. But right now it’s not that old and still easily shareable. It’s like the 2018 version of office that got updates till like 2021 or something. And Office frankly doesn’t change a ton from year to year, it just gets heavier in its demands on the system, for most users. lol
$499 Original iPad. You say you can get iPad mini, but you can also get the iPad 9th Gen (250) with Touch ID, the 10th gen iPad ($450 but on sale for $350), iPad Air is constantly on sale for 499. So comparing a non pro machine to a pro machine and saying it's more expensive is not really comparing equivalent products.
Agree, I think Luke is a bit unfair in his criticism over the $499 starting point (equivalent to ~$770 AUD). In Australia, the entry level 10th gen iPad is $750, and 9th gen is $550 and both are light years ahead of the original 1st generation wrt memory, CPU, displays, pencil-support, camera, wifi, touch ID security - for essentially the same $499. You can argue the Pro models are/aren't worth the major price hike, but they are in a different league compared to the entry level iPads. I agree that iPad OS is still limiting the device; the 'truncation' of file names, the lack of a real file directory tree, the clunky file management system etc. etc. is still geared for people who don't want desktop power to confuse them. But I appreciate that its hard nut to crack, because you could easily create a Frankenstein experience porting Mac OS to the iPad.
Yeah the iPad has actually gotten cheaper. It's just that the Pro models are the Lexus to the base IPad's Toyota. So of course they're going to be pricier.
This comment broke my brain. Because of how many iPads they created. There are so many of them that even I, as an Apple fan, wanted to buy one and simply gave up cause i was lost. When a company has 10 versions of their product - it simply shows that the company is not confident in what exactly they want. At this point their products becoming iPad R724ABG instead of being iPad 15 one and only, and it’s just ONE cause it’s the best one.
I don’t see the problem, they have the basic model, the larger Air, then the Pro. Thereafter, you spec out your desire in terms of memory, size, cellular, colour, price etc. So I see it as only 3 models to choose from, then individualising your specs, like any typical computing product.
14 or 15 inch ipad aimed at creatores/artist/photo folk, mobile gamers, and students who don't often need an actual computer for notes etc could actually be pretty cool... maybe a little niche but I think they could actually sell them just fine not to mention great for businesses with pos terminals etc
I honestly think that if the iPad pro had an OS that was like macOS and had more mac features, than the majority of people would not even consider buying a mac. So, i do not think apple is going to do that. I'm buying the new iPad pro without a doubt though.
as much as i would love mac OS on the ipad i must say. I don't see apple ruining their own sales of the MacBooks. very exited for this event and i hope that the price is not as high as rumors say
@@lilnilu I have 4 AP exams back to back that week. May 6th is Chemistry, the 7th is Stats, the 8th is CSA, and the 9th is Psych. And then I get a little break as AP language is on the 14th.
I'd love to replace my laptop with an iPad. But since I'm a developer I really doubt I can do that anytime soon, maybe ever. I had a 12.9 pro for a while and it was amazing at almost everything I needed
Please stop for a moment and think about how you will use your new iPad Pro. Yes, the one you are thinking about buying. The one Apple will announce on May 7th. If you are just watching RUclips, streaming movies, and browsing, and chances are, YOU WILL, then you can save yourself a couple hundred bucks and get the non-Pro version. You know I am right.
There’s far too many iPads. They need to get back to basics and have a pro model and a consumer model. The consumer model was always the gold standard of tablets until the awful 10th gen came out.
Got it bang on here. I use an iPad for 3 things... Word processing and spreadsheets when I don't have access to a laptop, displaying sheet music in my lessons, and as a sound module for live performance in conjunction with a midi controller. I don't need a crazy display, but it would be good to have software like MacOS where I could utilise logic and other similar programs just by transferring projects from my Mac to iPad and back again. Without it, the iPad isn't really that useful in 2024. I will be looking to upgrade to (if the rumours are true) the new iPad air 12.9 but as for the pro, well it's too expensive for me. As you said $499 was a good price for an iPad, £1000/$1200 or more represents very poor value for money for what it is capable of doing. Either it needs to be cheaper, or it needs to be more capable. Or both. Otherwise it doesn't pay the rent.
I really don't like the idea of a product being "too good" for its own good. I think the fact that iPad users don't feel the need or desire to upgrade is a testament to the quality products that Apple releases. That is something to be proud of.
It's a testament to being hamstrung by lack of good software. Why spend a thousand dollars or more when your $400 model you bought three years ago does all the same tasks?
I still have the Air 3 (2019), bought it in early 2020. The battery is not as great as it used to be, but still lasts a full day. And it does what I need it to do. I mainly bought it to annotate pdfs (I'm an academic), but it's also a great portable all-in-one solution for a lot of things for when I don't want to carry my laptop with me. I'm looking at upgrading with binoculars right now (meaning at soooooome point in the future, but not veeeeery soon), so the news that the iPad (especially the lower priced casual models) may be coming out of their current awkward phase are great.
I'm on a 6th gen iPad (2018) still and intended to upgrade in 2022 but once revealed, it felt not worth it for the price-bump. So I skipped. Nothing came in 2023 and I do notice sluggish behaviour on my iPad more frequently now. Definitely going to upgrade to an 12.9 inch Air or Pro plus the new pencil, depending on the Pro pricing. I know it's going to be a chunk of money but to me it's worth it.
I’m still rocking the iPhone X from 2017. At these prices, I need more than spec bumps. The iPhone 16 Pro sounds compelling - but then won’t the iPhone 17 Pro be even more compelling?
Real OS on an iPad is an apple version of Half Life 3 for me. To spare my feelings, I learned not to expect the perfect light workstation with every one of these events, but it would get me greatly excited if it ever happens.
Day one iPad owner. Have had had 4 daily drivers since 2010. The original, iPad 4, original Air, iPad Pro 11” 2018. The iPad 4 was the one that was replaced the fastest, that Air was evolutionary at the time. My current iPad still rocks so replacing it will take something super special.
The thing is for the type of applications most people are using iPads for, browsing, watching videos, playing games, they function perfectly for years and years on end and do not need replacing for models with new features. The only reason to upgrade is for more storage or because it's broken. Basically they're TOO good. Unless the OS can be changed to allow them to do more Mac type stuff.
Yes im one of those 2018 iPad Pro people. 12.9 inch. Battery and cpu are still amazing. No game or app runs with any frame rate or glitches with 60 or 120fps. The iPad IS too good. They need to make more compelling apps and games that actually take advantage of iPads latest hardware. Or, add more features and accessories. Maybe time to start playing with the design and form factor more as well
I still have my 1st gen iPad Air (2013) laying around somewhere. It’s completely useless and dead for years by now. But I’m not missing it. Really don’t need an iPad at all these days.
Been using my iPad Mini 6 since it came out in 2021 and very happy with it. Got it over the Air at the time because it came with A15 instead of the A14 in the Air. I don’t see any need for a new iPad for me for several years.
I am in love with my M2 iPad Air. I’m also in love with my M1 MacBook Pro. I love that the Magic Keyboard works for the Air. And it’s really convenient for when I need to grab something for on the go work. What I hate? My heavy ass iPhone 13 Pro Max. I used to upgrade this each year, but this phone is just so heavy I was really disappointed. I’m leaning towards upgrading the phone to just the Pro and then buying an iPad Mini to use for the times I want to “scroll”, or use around home. I’d get a bigger screen for that stuff, and then the phone is still great, just smaller and easier to deal with. I say that as a big guy with big hands. Anyway. I have been looking at buying an iPad Pro, so who knows. Money doesn’t grow on trees, so I need my tech to work for me and make money for me.
Honestly the last time the iPad had anything that moved the needle for me was with the 2018 pro - I use it a ton, for a very broad spectrum of things from 3D modelling to animation to music. It's kind of like an Apple watch for me in that I don't really need to upgrade. It'll take something pretty special from a design point or some amazing OS update that only works on that model for me to upgrade
Original M1 iPad Pro user here. After my TV this is my main device for consuming media either books or videos as well as doing a fair amount of productive work on it as well, it’s well fast enough to do everything I want and I see no reason to buy a new iPad unless there is a very convincing reason to spend the money that does something totally over and above what my vulnerable iPad can do
My iPad Air 3 still delivers solid performance for what I need, just basic stuff to check email, chat and youtube. Unfortunately, the battery has degraded a lot. As you mentioned iPads are lasting longer than 5+ years.
My 4th Generation 12.9 inch iPad Pro is my daily use device. I fully intend to keep it until it’s not supported anymore, and if the Air is going to get a 12.9 inch, that will be my replacement, not another pro.
Hoping for a new iPad Mini. I run a Mini 5 and Mini 6. The only issue I have with the 6 is the lack of a charging stand with USB C. This is why I still run a mini 5, as charging stands were available. The phone ones I've tried are too small to properly support the mini 6. The iPad mini is the perfect size for what I want it to do, and I'm usually disappointed that Apple does not update as often as the other iPads. I did have a 11 inch iPad Pro, but never used it. Add Mag safe charging and a proper charging station and I'll but a couple straight away.
Watching this on my 12.9” iPad Pro from 2018. It’s still excellent, the battery is still at about 90 percent. I use it daily, several hours a day. The only thing that is showing its age is the keyboard. The trackpad is a bit small, the plastic wrapping is starting to split at the edges. But a new one is just too expensive, especially if it’s basically going to be the same device
I am in no way a power user of iPads, but I just traded in my old Gen 5 iPad on a new Gen 10 iPad and USB C pencil. Enjoying it very much. I use it more than my Mac Book Pro.
I have an M2 11-inch Pro and use mine all the time for Zoom meetings, SalesForce works stuff, web browsing, gaming, and watching movies. I am planning to upgrade when the new cone comes out in May. Still, the only limitation is the OS. Just wish Apple would upgrade to MacOS but keep the apps for iPhone/iPad available.
My use case for my iPad is to take Notes, play occasionally games, browse food delivery, read eBooks and watch my edited photo & video work on a consumer screen, since most use phones & iPads. My issue is, my iPad mini is only LCD. And that‘s HORRIBLE. Also the limited amount of storage, these are my main concerns why I use it so rarely
Most of the folks in the tech rumors space like this haven't gotten to the age where the iPad's screen size and form factor make sense from a vision perspective. For the crowd finding a steady increase in their minimum distance from eyeball to resolve screen focus, holding a larger screen further from your face is a godsend. In my case that means an iPad before phone workflow. I wish I could just take calls on my iPad and be done with a phone honestly-- they already forced us to abandon wired headsets in favor of AirPods, so not holding it to my face anyway.
I’m still using in iPad Air 2. Have replaced the battery twice and the screen once. Still chugging along but will probably get a refurb M1 iPad one of these days
As an Artist the M2 on the iPad was great for us especially with hover support. An already powerful iPad with an M3 chip in it is useless. I won't be upgrading unless the pros go up in screen size at a minimum of !5 inches
I'm still happy with my 4th gen iPad since I only use it for RUclips. The gap between Phones, Tablets and Laptops is closing faster every time Samsung or Apple release a newer phone or tablet and include more RAM or a bigger display. Even the keyboard on the iPad can be seen as a sign that there is no need for a Tablet and Laptop. Building on top of that, some Windows Laptops are even equipped with SIM cards, so who needs an iPad when your laptop can be used as a netbook and a computer. I think its clear to say that with the battery life improvements on most laptops, and the larger screens that we get on phones like the iPhone 15 or phablets like the S24 Ultra are a clear sign that the days of tablets are over. Not to mention that if you need a tablet and a laptop, just get a folding 2 in 1. That's just my take on the situation. The only portable computer I will be purchasing in the near future at all will probably be a handheld like a steam deck. My iPad 4, LG VELVET and ASUS ZenBook 14 OLED serve all the purposes I need.
Still using my iPad Pro 12.9inch from 2017 although I’m having issues with the battery. So definitely replacing this year but might choose the iPad Air over the Pro, it depends on specifications & cost.
for the pro user the real problem with ipad is the lack of professional software available on mac. They started M-transition with mentioning a few times that now it will much easier to port M-ready software from mac to iPadOS. And no one does this. I am doing design which involves 3D work and 3D market is huge for iPads because they are as powerful as generic laptop and more useful in a long run.
I bought an M1 iPad Air and even when I play games on it at highest settings, it rarely sweats and for the design stuff it is way too OP. Unless then do something really ground breaking, I don't see myself parting way with my current one.
I have a 2019 MacBook Pro that I use for creative work, and have never needed an iPad up until now - but I’ve recently been thinking about getting one. Being a brand new iPad customer is so unnecessarily complicated with just how much overlap there is with the specs and *how* you use the devices. I really hope Apple streamlines the lineup
I use an iPad pro M1 for animation work and it's very possible to find pro apps for the drawing side. The post production goes across to Mac but a decent compositing app and a better sound app would mean id stay iPad for 90% of the time. The file system is still a bit of a pain but I could live with it, but if there was a new level of 'pro' that ran Mac os I'd but a new machine.
It’s a long shot but I hope they update the mini. Upgrades wishlist: better display, M1, same or better battery life, stronger magnets for their folio cases and Face ID. I’m buying the next update, it’s the best iPad imo
My 2 Ipads are broken and one needs repair. One got bent when it fell & hit my clothing rack. It will cost $185 to replace the glass on the first one. Its almost cheaper to buy a new one and throw the old one away. When I pay off my bills next year I will buy a new Ipad for the first time since 2014. My Ipads were sent to me. I cannot see the tiny serial number on the back but one is a 2017 Ipad. I use my Ipads constantly so I am not a casual user.
I don't think I'll ever buy an iPad until they can give me one with an OLED screen for the $500 price range. My ideal use case would be watching videos and maybe playing games but I don't need or want the extra power or operating system features or accessories to take it into the $1000+ price range.
I have an iPad Pro 2020 and would be willing to upgrade for the oled screen but I won’t because of the price increase. My point is their strategy may prevent people that want to upgrade from doing so. As mentioned in the video it’s already hard to justify buying an iPad as it is so they decide “let’s go ahead and raise the price a few hundred dollars” WTH! How does this make sense when iPad sales have fallen off a cliff. All more and more people will look to buy used or refurbished which won’t create sales for them either.
knows that 50%+ of folks don't really care about an iPad upgrade, so explains why so long. As you say, the current iPad hw platform is so over-the-top that most users would not need to get anything new/er. My money is on new Mx chip and maybe OLED versions. I currently use 11inch M2 and its glorious and no need to consider upgrade at the moment.
I still use a iPad Pro 1st gen 12.9 inch ever since my dad gave it to me. Soon I got a Apple Pencil and had been drawing for a while now. It’s still a good drawing tablet even now. Would recommend
The iPad mini in my region is €669, insane when you think about it. Macs and iphones have significantly dropped in price and constantly getting better and better unlike the unfortunate iPad.
I am ready to upgrade. My current iPad Pro got dropped and has a couple of small screen issues. It's only 4 years old but I use it a lot and besides the better screen I'd like to get more storage than I have now. I use my iPad more than my phone because it has a larger screen. Plus if I get at least 1TB I'll get more memory if it's the same as the previous generation. I hate when my apps have to reload even when I only have 3 or 4 open.
I think it will only be a new sized 12.9 inch iPad Air. An iPad targeted at artists, but without the Pro’s features like XDR screen and M3 chip. Probably priced around the entry level 11” Pro.
Only reason why I’d see an iPad launch before WWDC is an iOS 18 specific feature that actually requires new hardware. Still unlikely since the current gen iPhone would have to ship with the same feature 🤷🏻♂️
I use a 12.9 M1 iPad Pro at work because it's far more convenient than carrying my MacBook when I don't need to. Working tickets or managing our JAMF infrastructure works just fine on there with no keyboard. The laptop can stay at the desk at this point.
I use my ipad as my TV it's a very specific use that neither my mac or phone occupies. I also use it heavily for video conference. So now I realize I use it mostly as passive device which I rarely hold or touch.
I want to update my iPad mini six generation. The reason is I am hoping that they chip that gets placed into that device has the hardware retracing so that I can play games that are AAA on the device using my Galileo G8 modified. If the seventh generation retains the same form factor, some make shift keyboards that I have purchased will work perfectly for the iPad mini seventh generation. I feel that this is the best iPad for my usage.
6:52 I’m sorry you know that the iPad lineup does start at $449? $329 if you don’t mind missing some features. The price of an iPad has not gone anywhere. The same as how the price of a Mac has not gone anywhere. They’ve just made a new highest tier in the same way that there is a very expensive Mac you can buy if you have the money for it.
iPads are a luxury item for most people. Play a few games, watch RUclips, check mail, etc. Not a lot of power users out there that need to upgrade every year. My iPad is several years old and still works fine. That's the same reason people are holding on to their phones longer.

I'm golden so long as Apple continues to support my 2018 iPad Pro
Shhhh.... Don't say that too loud ;)
Mine is about to give up

Same. I don’t need a m series chip. I need a big high quality screen.
I wish iPads always took 2-3 years between releases now. That way it’s more innovative and not just to please shareholders and keep their sales up.
That’s capitalism tho… 😂
If they put Mac OS on the iPad, the upgrade would be worth it.
I’m an architect, I make illustrations in the iPad, the new sketch up app is also nice, and AutoCAD is serviceable.

You said iPads were going to be a disappointment. Now you're saying it’s going to be important. Which is it?
He’s in the middle; iPads are important but they’ll be a disappointment
@@LuisAngelSantos I want to hear it from Luke himself
It's important as a thing to talk about now and then later to keep making money of which a lack would be disappointing. I'm sure you know that.
i thought he said the ipad was dying
It's like eating hamburger is disappointing but it is important
I think what we should be asking about the iPad, indeed all of the Apple products, is “what needs updating?”
Do we really need a physical upgrade or redesign? What problems or limitations would be overcome by changes?

Major sidecar upgrade with near realtime latency would be a great feature for artists! New pencil tech could be cool
It’s already there, at least it is for me in ZBrush if connected via USB-C cable instead of wifi…
It's been the same problem for over 6 years now: amazing hardware, limited software. I have the m1 air and even then I only use it for note taking and the occasional 2nd display.
That m1 power is being maxed out. Lol
I feel like my MacBook and my iMac do everything that I need and more than the iPad, especially given how expensive they’ve gotten. In the past, I’ve had iPads and I felt like I haven’t really used them compared to my MacBook.

The iPad is basically just a mini TV/ larger phone.
It’s there to offer a larger screen at a compact portable size. That’s all it is. That’s why it’s popular.
"There have not been any updates to any iPads since October 2022."
I am a bit nostalgic for those days when you could buy a 48K ZX Spectrum or a Commodore 64 in 1982 and use it all the way till 1989 or 1990...
Must be that I am growing old...
I'm still using a 2015 MacBook Air as my daily computer so it can still happen
I have an IBM ThinkPad T60 from '06 that I still use and it works fine
I think it’s crazy that iPads cost so much and you can’t use one as your regular phone.
The reason nobody wants to upgrade is because the OS is basically a scaled up iOS. Give it a real OS and it might be worth upgrading.
Yes! Even the 2020 iPad Pro could run macOS comfortably, in the form of the DTK with 16 GB RAM
it doesnt need macOS. its more than powerful as it is
14 or 15 inch ipad aimed at creatores/artist/photo folk, mobile gamers, and students who don't often need an actual computer for notes etc could actually be pretty cool... maybe a little niche but I think they could actually sell them just fine not to mention great for businesses with pos terminals etc
I want Mac OS on iPad.
just get mac bruh
I honestly think that if the iPad pro had an OS that was like macOS and had more mac features, than the majority of people would not even consider buying a mac. So, i do not think apple is going to do that. I'm buying the new iPad pro without a doubt though.
Agreed and I'm buying the I pad
im gonna get my hands on that fresh new iPad Pro fr. what iPad do you own btw?
as much as i would love mac OS on the ipad i must say. I don't see apple ruining their own sales of the MacBooks. very exited for this event and i hope that the price is not as high as rumors say
i am going to upgrade my 2018 iPad pro to the one they will announce. but i am hoping it will not be more expensive than an MacBook Air M2/M3
i just hope iPadOS will be able to give the world most powerful tablet a real purpose. and i will buy the new iPad pro if the prices are not too high
It has to land on my birthday and during AP exams lmao
lol I have my state exams
Taurus gang haha it’s on my birthday too 😅
which AP exams? I have APCSA literally the next day lol
@@lilnilu I have 4 AP exams back to back that week. May 6th is Chemistry, the 7th is Stats, the 8th is CSA, and the 9th is Psych. And then I get a little break as AP language is on the 14th.
and on a tuesday :(
I'd love to replace my laptop with an iPad.
I want a better aspect ratio for viewing content
I’m an orchestral horn player and a band director. iPads are what I use every single day.
Think of how long it's been since a new mini iPad was released.
Just aim at iPhone XX, then in another then years for iPhone XXX
Maybe time to start playing with the design and form factor more as well
Keep up the good work ❤
I still have my 1st gen iPad Air (2013) laying around somewhere.
I’m still using a 12.9 inch iPad Pro gen3. No point changing as it still works and looks great.
The iPad is in place that’s as good as it needs to be. At this point updates are just for the sake of updates.
I think it is interesting they are moving the time to 7am. Now viewers in east Asia don't have to be up into midnight to watch these!
Add Mag safe charging and a proper charging station and I'll but a couple straight away.
iPAD MINI 7 BABY!!!!
I HOPE that Apple is doing all of this now is because of WWDC... WWDC might unveil some interesting stuff for the iPad.
I am in no way a power user of iPads, but I just traded in my old Gen 5 iPad on a new Gen 10 iPad and USB C pencil. Enjoying it very much. I use it more than my Mac Book Pro.
I’m still rocking my Gen 5. It is my primary device.
My 2017 2nd gen iPad Pro will be replaced this yet so I hope these new iPads are good. The one thing I know is I don’t need a OLED screen.
I’m still using in iPad Air 2. Have replaced the battery twice and the screen once. Still chugging along but will probably get a refurb M1 iPad one of these days
I'm still on a 2018 iPad Standard, I only use it as a control surface to my mixer rack.
I don't see a need to upgrade from my 12.9" M1 iPad Pro, but I've been waiting for an updated iPad Mini with more than 256GB storage.
As an Artist the M2 on the iPad was great for us especially with hover support. An already powerful iPad with an M3 chip in it is useless. I won't be upgrading unless the pros go up in screen size at a minimum of !5 inches
Vector in procreate…💯💯
Only way I’m upgrading my iPad is if it’s a 13 inch with that Magic Keyboard that changes the OS to MacOS
The only use for my ipad after the apple silicon mac is to sit by the guitar amp to play backing tracks!
It's going to use the back to scan colors
6:19 for reference the 1st iPad now cost about $60 on eBay!
that's way too much money for that junk, I got the iPad 2 for 40 years ago and today it's even too much
@@_Digitalguy it wasn't junk back then. It was revolutionary!
@@savagepro9060 absolutely but it is now with nothing running on it, not even a browser with 256MB RAM
love my ipad 2017, it just for the internet but at 12.9 it is perfect, am looking for another soon so this could be perfect
I bought an M1 iPad Air and even when I play games on it at highest settings, it rarely sweats and for the design stuff it is way too OP. Unless then do something really ground breaking, I don't see myself parting way with my current one.
All I need is battery life and a really good large screen. I don’t need a M series processor in my iPad. It’s for pdfs and watching videos
I have a 2020 12.9" iPad Pro, and it's still awesome now...and for the foreseeable future, at least...I think.
if they bring out an iPad mini with 120hz, ill buy
I am still using my 2018 iPad Pro - sure i need an upgrade but I’ve waited this
long. This might be the necessary inducement.
I don't think I'll ever buy an iPad until they can give me one with an OLED screen for the $500 price range. My ideal use case would be watching videos and maybe playing games but I don't need or want the extra power or operating system features or accessories to take it into the $1000+ price range.
Mini all the way. Pro version please.
2018 iPad Pro 11 256gb Cellular user here. Possibly would upgrade for OLED but only if the 128gb Cellular model is around $800
Isn't a big iphone a small ipad?
The OS has barely changed since the original iPad Air. If they do nothing about that, they’ll struggle to sell them.
MacOS dualboot on iPad is the only thing I want.
Need that iPad mini pro with pro motion. Idc about M series chip in it.
2017 iPad Pro is still good, though slowing down and battery life sucks….if I upgrade, I will still find use for my 2017 model.
Watching this on my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9“. No need to upgrade at all. Would buy it again today.
I'm looking for a new tablet but I think once these get launched I'll wait for used prices to tank and get one then
6:52 I’m sorry you know that the iPad lineup does start at $449? $329 if you don’t mind missing some features. The price of an iPad has not gone anywhere. The same as how the price of a Mac has not gone anywhere. They’ve just made a new highest tier in the same way that there is a very expensive Mac you can buy if you have the money for it.
