    Thanks for your advise, I just bought Atomic HAWX Prime 120. They fit well out of the box but still I have an option, after some use, to adjust shell for my condition.Thanks again and I am glad i viewed your RUclips clip.Lex

    THANK YOU so much for this information! I haven't had a chance to go skiing for WAY too long (decades)... And when I tried today, the rental shop couldn't get anything that fit the width of both my feet & my calves. The biggest issue is the width... Mine are 110mm wide... More snowshoe-feet than ski feet. ;)
    Finding out about the heat moulding options & such, should make getting boots that will fit a LOT easier! I had NO idea. Like I said, it's been decades. And I really miss skiing.

      Great to hear! Yes if there is nothing in the rental shop, I would recommend having a chat to some local boot fitters if they are available to you. With wide feet and big calves, there is options. :) Let me know if you need any recommendations. Cheers

    To get really epic results with shell heat-molding use the fischer "vacuum" machine with other brand boots.

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  7 лет назад

      Wow, I have not seen that. Sounds like it could be a good idea! Have you been doing that in store Johan?

    • @johanhagg1934
      @johanhagg1934 7 лет назад +1

      Yes, but don't tell the fischer rep. Only thing to be wary of is the shape of buckles on the boot you are pressing, if they protrude alot they can brake the cooling-bags.

    "Hey, check out this super wide boot, it's 104mm!"
    Me: "Okay, but my feet are 114mm wide."

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  2 года назад

      Ah, but it is not all about a mm dimension. :) How long are they?, How much compression can they handle? How well does the boot shape envelope your feet? Is the boot moldable to gain extra space?
      All are big factors in getting boots to fit wide feet.

    • @wiredforstereo
      @wiredforstereo 2 года назад

      @@PatriotFootbeds My point is, how moldable are they? I have custom fit workboots and the soles look damn near like ping pong paddles.

    • @wiredforstereo
      @wiredforstereo 2 года назад

      @@PatriotFootbeds They measure to a 27.5. Doesn't seem like they can handle much compression.
      My point was, for my size, seems like about the only thing available is 102-104mm. And my feet are far beyond that. Can a moldable boot handle this much? What are the limits?
      I literally gave up wearing shoes about 5 years ago because nothing fits. The only thing I have now is custom built work boots. 95% of the time I wear flipflops or minimalist sandals, or just barefoot.

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  2 года назад

      @@wiredforstereo Yeah no worries. What I am trying to explain is that the mm width doesn't necessarily means that your boot needs to be the exact same width as your feet. There are more elements that come in to the equation. Some of the wide lasted moldable boots can go out this wide for sure! (in most but not all circumstances). It can require sometimes that a boot needs to be manually stretched to take them further if your feet do not respond well.
      Volume is also a consideration, but I would look to the higher volume wide lasted boots that are moldable as your best starting point to get them wide enough.

    Great videos, mate. I've got a forefoot outside of the stated last for my Lange RX120s: 102 (left) and 104 (right). Don't know if this classifies me as wide or not? Rest of my foot is medium volume though. So the shell does touch each side of my feet. They get sore after a while along the 5th met side. I'm hoping some custom footbeds and a stretch will resolve it. The heal hold on these boots is great compared with some of the others I've tried on which offer a bit more space off the shelf.

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  6 лет назад

      Thanks mate, yeah start with footbeds and if it still is causing pain along the side get a stretch done.! It should sort it out. Hope the skiings been good!

    25.5 x 105 on both feet. I chose a Nordica Speedmanchine 130 and stretched out the fifth met heads. I cannot ski any wide boots because I cannot get a snug enough heel.

    Hello, I have 260 feet. My width is 113 and height (heel ankle ratio) is 300. I have been battling my whole life with ski boots. I have been using fitter and everything possible help. Finally I did change for snowboard because I just haven't been able to ski without extreme pain in my feet. Any new boots out there with possibility to expand enough to fit in my feet. Both legs have been operated due extensive stress when I was young (skiing..).

    I made the mistake of buying a wide lasted boot (2021 Lange LX 120) even though my foot is only wide in the forefoot area. Unfortunately while my forefoot feels good now, I'm getting too much heel movement. I should have gone with a 100mm lasted boot and had them punched out. I'm now thinking about buying the Patriot Liner Sleeves.

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  3 года назад +1

      Sorry to hear that, yeah you gotta focus on the whole fit and a lot of times, more importantly through the back and then adapt as necessary!

    Hey mate, i have extreme pain in the right "six toe" area, but i have enough last in the boot. where should I give support under my foot to make it better? more support under arch or less? What do you suggest? Thanks

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  7 лет назад

      Hi Drejec, Yeah mate for sure arch support will help keep the pressure of this spot. So a good quality footbed that supports you into as neutral as possible. When you do a shell check, do you see clearance at this spot? Even though the width may look ok, if the footbed doesn't fully alleviate it. Perhaps with the pain level at extreme, it may also require a bit of a grind or punch to get the pressure off. Cheers

      Hi Lex, for best results with a bunion, you should get a boot that fits the rest of your foot really well, then just get a punch to provide relief and space for the bunion.
