They let violent offenders go all the time. It seems like the more dangerous the faster the justice system sets them free. Excluding murder. Everything building up to it though is fair game for going free. Midwest safety has a video of a guy that has a woman locked in his hotel bathroom with bruises from the beating she got. 2 months he was out. Missed court and got arrested again on a warrant for missing court for that but was out again in 2 more months.

I've owned firearms for 8 years and I've been licensed in MA for 6 years. I went to renew my LTC and was denied for a "mistake" all my 15 firearms were seized that cost me over $20,000. I'm all set with firearm licensing and most gun laws restricting magazines and specific firearms. I worked like a dog doing over 85 hours a week and earned myself $158,000 2 years ago. I quit my job to learn how to defend myself in court and how to get my rights back for being "told" i was a juvenal delinquent.... I'm turning 31 years old this November and I wont return to work to pay another tag to this government. This country is lost I pray we all have a future without being taxed, surveilled, and indoctrinated. I can say with 110% certainty that the police are completely incompetent to handle determining your rights with a license and with respect to the constitution. Good Luck and God Bless.

@@brucecook502 Correct. The real issue i have is I was "found not delinquent" and showed this documentation to this police department. This is a threat to the safety and freedom of our country. All people in states with the "LTC" will feel the wrath of the police departments in the near future with unruly acts of mistakes and aggressive situations of saying if your don't surrender your firearms to them you will be criminally charged. I have proof for everything and if you don't have someone to claim your firearms after 120-180 days they will be auctioned off and funds surrendered to the state. They will systematically take the firearms of people one by one and not like everyone thinks by taking them all at once.

The government has its purpose as do We The People. We don't need to have our hand held by the government. Instead let's become more responsible and accountable of our actions and inactions. Here's my two cents: First of all, do not divulge the shooter's name! Don't make them famous. At Columbine the press plastered the names all over and other kids followed suit to be famous too. So,
1- No names to the press,
2- Armed staff or security (No shootings in Ohio since it was made known that the teachers are now armed),
3- One million dollars to the family of any victims.
This will definitely discourage any thoughts of malice and wrongdoing.

Gun free zones, the only people who don't bring a gun are the people who care about consequences and their future. They don't want to lose their right and freedom. Most people intent on murder do not have those concerns. They are already committing a much worse crime than an unlawful possession charge, that measly charge means nothing to them. If there is an area where you must disarm before entering, your safety should be 100% guaranteed by the people prohibiting you from carrying a defensive weapon. But we have seen they cannot do that. In many cases, they have no interest in doing it either. Entering a gun free zone is akin to joining a flock of 100 sheep with one guard dog guarding one particular "special" sheep and a dozen circling wolves.

Regarding Red Flag Laws--a mere search warrant can turn into a zero dark thirty death warrant even though there was not sufficient Probable Cause for a judge to issue a search warrant. The Red Flag Law removes the need for Probable Cause. A SWAT raid can kill multiple victims (including those a block away) based on an unattributed rumor, not even Reasonable Articulate Suspicion.

Even a complete gun confiscation will not fix the issue do to the government not having the resources to pull it off, not to mention the legality.

No singular law can fix this. Red Flag laws could help with somethings but depending how they're designed will come with externalities, Universal Background checks can help somewhat but depending how collate the records will affect especially since different states may vary in how they define something. Government records only have what is deemed pertinent but like statistics don't come with contextual info like if the problem was resolved or if there was extenuating circumstances. This is social issue at the root so new gun control laws can solve it, maybe mitigate it at best but that's it.

There is one law that would work, at least 99% of the time. It's God's law. When we started to ignore, to violate his law, started us down this road we find ourselves on now. Law abiding is rooted in morals, ethics, knowing what is right and what is wrong. Instilling that in our children. Any law that government passes has that all over it. So if everyone fully believes in and practices good morals, ethics, there is no need for government to continually pass more and more laws. There are 10 laws that cover just about everything. If we abide by those, there is not a problem of people wanting to harm others.

BS. Colorado has recently instituted a 3 day waiting period. It's just another pain in the ass for law-abiding firearms owners.

Would a 30 day waiting period help for the woman who is leaving an abusive relationship and the guy constantly violates the restraining order and the police do nothing about it?
