this is great. been researching for a while now yet all I needed was this 5min video.
one more thing i would like to add so people don't get confused. the Assyrian and Babylonians are both Akkadians who split into two kingdoms basically same people. Source I'm Assyrian myself Mesopotamian and no we are not Arabs we are way different than them and we are the minority now.
Martin dinkha can u point out what makes u different from the arabs? Im just curious. Not trying to offend someone.
Mar(tin) Dinkha def a good Assyrian name lol
Antiochus III They originated probably from around the Caucuses and moved to Mesopotamia but still have the most right to the land out of peoples alive today. Their religion is Christianity split between an East and West church (I think) and they are a strong and interesting people, completely separate from “Arabs” although that itself is a loose term.
Antiochus III, assyrians are indigenous people and are a whole different ethnic group. They existed before arabs took over. They speak various dialects of syriac/aramaic while arabs speak various dialects of arabic language. Assyrians are christians, while arabs are mostly muslim.

1:18 That isn't really correct; Sumer was united for over 100 years (i.e longer than the Akkadian Empire) by Ur from c. 2100 BCE, and also by Isin for about 70 years from c. 2000 BCE. Also, by the time Hammurabi rose to power, the parts of Sumer outside his control were mostly ruled Larsa.
For one I think he doesn't consider Sumeria as an empire. Maybe it is like a nation.
Yeah.. sumer is a nation of city states... Akkad-babylonia-assyria who conquer and extend their territory farther was truly called EMPIRE...
its too good ....it helped me alot for making my notes for exams ....Really thanks ...its conceptual and Easy
Ancient Iraq '' Mesopotamia' is the first recorded city in the history of humanity in the city of uruk
U forgott that the Assyrians had 3 empires, the old Assyrian empire(2400-1900), the middle Assyrian empire(1400-900) and the neo Assyrian empire(900-600).
Does Assyrians is Akkadian?
I loved it, informative, very fun and enjoyable at the same time, thank you.
Narrator saying "Nehuchadnezzer" Fluently me reapeating after him trying 45 times " anbanazzer
Narrator: well thought out, articulate explanation of the neo babalonians
Me: nEBS AND THE NEO BABS ARE AT IT AGAINNN
Pretty sure Lugal-Zage-Si, last King of Sumer, consolidated the majority of the lands that would encompass the Akkadian Empire and ruled over them for 25-35 years before he lost them to Sargon. Yet he is almost always overlooked.
Ok very good but at least put up another extended video and I would really like an extended one plz.
Thank you, that was awesome
• 2300 anni a.C = Sargon I
• La lingua Sumera ha sostituito la lingua Accadica
• L'impero Accadico è durato appena 200 anni
Your disclaimer is too long for the time it is on the screen. You sound like you are reading your daughters a bed time story but I like it. The sound is really good. Glad the mic helped. I LOVE IT. Cannot wait to see more.

@ 2:55, why would Lamassu, the Assyrian protective deity, be happy about the fall of Assyria?

Why he sound like he plays xbox or ps4?
LMAO
actually, historians say the hanging gardens of Babylon we're actually during Assyria, not Babylon
wow!!
good I like the video I want to see more.
Well done. One note though. Observe how the word "empire" has been defined, but another key subject which needed to be defined was "Mesopotamia". Define Mesopotamia.
Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians Chaldeans, Elamites, Assyrians
Thank you! this will help me on my test!
Michal ._. Me too

@Caleb Carswell woah thats wierd, i could have sworn it said 2..
You forgot the Kassites. Their empire lasted 400 years. Longer than any other Mesopotamian empire.
But the Kasites were immigrants in Mesopotamia, probably this film is about the Mesopotamian Empires that were founded by the people of Mesopotamia (I said probably, because I can't play it. Is blocked). In describe below movie is tells about the Akkadian, Babylonian, Assyrian, and Neo-Babylonian empires. But I would prefer to named it about one Mesopotamian empire from 2334 B.C.E. - 539 B.C.E. - because it was de facto one country, only the capital, and the ruling groups were constantly changing. But they were all citizens of Mesopotamia. The Kassites were not Mesopotamians, the same can be say that the Seleucid Empire was the Persian Empire, because it was in the territory where it was previously the Persian Empire despite was founded by Greek, and they ruled them. No sense.
POV: ur here for school
yea
Yea
Right
Peroid of Ubid is oldest than 7000 bc.....
How about the Empire of Ur?
Klein Fletchers was Ur an empire. I thought it was merely a city state
It wasn't an empire
They're wedged in between the Akkadians and the Babylonians:
"The terms "Third Dynasty of Ur" and "Neo-Sumerian Empire" refer to both a 22nd to 21st century BC (middle chronology) Sumerian ruling dynasty based in the city of Ur and a short-lived territorial-political state which some historians consider to have been a nascent empire. The Third Dynasty of Ur is commonly abbreviated as Ur III by historians studying the period. c. 2112 BC - c. 2004 BC"
They wrote Gilgamesh btw.

hey good job
dont beleive it, you actually thiink that people 3000 years ago wrote down that stuff, they just find two or 3 artifacts and then create some fan fiction based off of it. Reeal history only begins in like 300 ad that's when we were advanced enough to start writing things down in multiple places.
Hey
We are Obara people's
Good job!
Uh am I the only person who’s Assyrian here? :-)
no
Nah we here
In ancient Indian history, they are all called "Mleccha" Kings or Empires. Indian history dates beyond the time of these foreign empires.
Oh and Eber didn't help as others built the tower of Babel so when Allah destroyed it and dispersed many of the people changing their languages that they understood each other no more meaning Eber retained the original language that no one identify today as the true ancient language of civilization and scripture. And it is ancient before Arab languages. As time progressed and many Empires Rose and fell it was lost but we now know it again and can read the writing of the ancient times.
It's crazy we call these great military achievements.. But a bunch of people died. How great is that really?
They only lived to like 45 anyway
I am Akkadian, I was there😔
Why does my texher make me watch these
Its the babylonians the assyriand the neo babylonians, median, its the persain s
Empire!!
Akkadian, Babylonian, Assysrian and Neo-babylonian.
Sargon: don't you like my empire?
me: it's nice, but i've seen bigger
Babylon 2: Electric Boogaloo
That’s my favorite sequel!!
Why iraq is like this today
مجهول الاسم و الهويه because something never change that's why Arab Assyrian are not much different from each other!!!
Well you see iraq is in the center of the old world beside having two rivers as well as having tressures and great economy so others want what they have that is why we live in endless war today we have oil so today war is because of the oil but back then it was because of the water and the farms and warm temperatures
Interesting...... this iz just a story
You might say that is a MESSY po..
No that makes no sense
Goodbye
There were many empires before these they werent found but lore in india and iran says it goes back 20000 years with aryans migrating south and there is some truth to lure so it might be around 17500 years back for first empire beacuse the aryans were peacful until they meet some people migrating north from africa and turks and scythians also had an empire in steps the scythians had turkish and iranian roots and sadly many of that history is lost but the history you guys read has alot of fault and lies in it spracily the greek ones also no mention of sumarines is see beacuse they kinda of had an empire also elmaites and did too and some of your shown borders were extracted also babylonians assryians akidians and so on all the way to anotilia people were ussaly ethir iranian roots or african ones say babylonia it had turkish roots beacuse of sumarines in its empire who were turks and iranians and akidan roots who were semites africans and iranians and there is more history isnt a puzzle there is alot of missing pieces and imaginary filled ones and lie so dont always trust what your told in school
Five minnows
Okay buddy instead of saying Neo-Babylonian empire it’s more like THE CHALDEAN EMPIRE
