I don’t think we want to say “the jist of it”, we are dealing with small errors like diacritical marks, scribal errors and notations, mistaken number.
I understood what you meant by “jist”, as the main ideas are not compromised. But in the grand scheme the Bible is very accurate and unified…EVEN WITH THOSE SMALL ERRORS
Thank God i found my faith in a max security cell block, It's hypocrisy like "every verse was different!" Or how ppl act hateful compared to how they preach, plus all the fighting and hate between denominations and beliefs (like the KJV only people). I was told once "The devil speaks scripture," calling me the devil because I said "Faith in Christ brings you salvation, not denomination." If I didn't find my faith with people who genuinely acted like Christians, who loved each other for being brothers in Christ, and with people I could actually rely on for my survival, then I don't think i would've turned towards Jesus. I'd see all the hypocrisy and be disgusted by religious ppl's behavior. Luckily, I found my faith in a place with ppl who practiced what they preached. Everything happens for a reason I guess

Bingo!
100% 😂
😂 that’s what the data shows
So in a nutshell, another W for Huff.
Huff makes many false claims:
1. Every chapter of the Book Of Mark has a reference to Jesus being God Almighty (false).
2. Mark and Luke were merely “reporters”, not witnesses (false).
3. On the 3rd Day resurrection, Mary and others saw a man whom they didn’t know nor recognize. Wes claims this was Jesus (false).
What's your proof or source?
@@michaelseay9783where did. Wes claim they were eye witnesses and mind you mark and Luke were literally in the same area it’s not like they were in a whole different country
@@michaelseay9783 1. You’re presupposing your interpretation is correct.
2. Huff literally said Luke and Mark were not eye witnesses: So you are either lying, can’t comprehend language, or didn’t watch the whole podcast.
3. You are quite literally wrong. Mary did see Jesus.
@@michaelseay9783 1. It does, but not in the sense of always being called the title ,
but referencing the things he was doing, for example,
healing the sick, casting out demons and the demons acknowledging he was the Son of God, cursing the fig tree, entrance in Jerusalem and being called the one to come in the name of the Lord. All these things which the jews rejected as references to him being God but he was.
2. Don't know where you're getting your sources but Mark and Luke were not firsthand eyewitness accounts, but they did write based off eyewitness testimony due to Paul and Peter, they probably were hearing the miracles, but the consensus among scholars is that they weren't witnesses .
3. Initially Mary magdelene actually didnt recognize Jesus as he thought it was a gardener, and Peter after he had risen from the dead didnt recognize Jesus either in John 21:4, as well as 2 people on the road to Emmaus. This was the context which in Wesley was saying, eventually all of them came to their senses

Once people realize that Mormonism is not only not Christian but actually basically a form of atheism, then Dan’s approach to the Bible makes sense.
How is it a form of atheism? Because according to them, God is someone who began as a man and became exalted...? I'm not an expert on Mormonism by any stretch. Just curious.
@ Here’s maybe the best way I can describe it. Theism is minimally the position that the ultimate cause of everything that contingently exists is an agent cause. God is minimally the ultimate agent cause of everything that contingently exists. Mormons don’t believe any creator of the whole process exists. They only believe there is this infinite regress of finite evolving entities including their Heavenly Father, which is the opposite of theism. Traditional theists believe that all explanations end with a volitional being such as God. Atheists believe that all explanations end in non-volitional causes. Mormon theology is a hybrid belief system that asserts that some explanations end in God and some do not. Because of these beliefs, members of the Mormon church are in a good position to resolve many contentions between atheism and traditional theism.

Another Mormon facet that is fascinating.... is the Joseph Smith translation of Isaiah is actually completely refuted by the great Isaiah scroll... And the age also undermines a common belief thrown out that the Christians tainted the old testament to make it line up to their view of things.
Thats right. As a former Mormon now Christian, I was reading through the Joseph Smith translation when I found out about the great Isaiah scroll. haha also Dan should explain the geography of the wars between the Nephites and Lamanites and if theres any archeological evidence of these wars and the precise location of Nephi, Bountiful etc
Dan is the go to “scholar” for those who hate the Christian faith and are looking for an “expert” to confirm their hatred. His whole shtick could be summarised as “in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king”.
This is exactly right. The amount of atheist and agnostics who follow him is astounding. He’s also a mentor to the false TikTok teacher Brandan Robertson.
Ruslan, my prayers are with you. I lost my mom unexpectedly on December 14th. I've now lost my father, mother, and sister. I've been in this weird grief thing before. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. I'm sorry to hear about your niece. I can't imagine how anyone goes through losing someone without having Jesus in their life. I'm writing you on this video because your comments are off. I wanted to let you know one of your listeners and brothers in Christ is going through the same weird, painful mourning.
The biggest error I caught was when he stated 400 of the brethren were appeared to by Christ after the disciples, when it was actually 500.
400 or 500 , I think what matters most is there are more than 12 people who saw the resurrection..
@pabloiskobar777 Exactly. As this video is pointing out, all the skeptics are able to do with their rebuttals to Wes is nitpick about spelling differences or other nonsense irrelevant to the perfectly preserved theology of the Word. Because Wes' claims are all solid where it matters.
I noticed that and also Wes said a donkey falls into a ditch not a sheep, but we all make slip of the tongues when we speak in real time and not verbatim from a piece of paper. At my church all the sermons are typed word for word and read out not freestyle, I prefer freestyle personally because it is inspired more and shows that the preacher is preaching from heart knowledge and revelation not just reading off a sheet.
@JasonNapalm72 Yes, the memory can play tricks sometimes. He was probably blending together with this verse where Jesus was essentially making the same point:
Luke 13:15 Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it?
for me it was "Peter of Cana"
Actually you hear Wes say "well almost" under his breath near the end of that part. You can tell he got a bit excited but still knew it was close
It cracked me up that every time Joe Rogan would say something Wes disagreed with, Wes would make a non-committal "mmmm" sound.
Had to expect this, they probably feel attacked since both Joe and Wes openly talk negatively about Mormonism. Thankfully Mormonism is so far from the truth we dont have to worry too much.
Is Dan Mormon?
Funny that while "mainstream Christians" continue to hemorrhage membership, Christ's true Church continues to grow as it should
Wait a sec... is this channel?
Dr. Richard Elliot Friedman, my fav. OT scholar and one of the most important modern ones, back when he was teaching would say, "Isaiah B is word-for-word the same," regularly. So far as I know, he was never lynched for this.

I bet Dan went over the 3 hours podcast with a fine toothcomb looking for something to nitpick over.
That’s exactly what he did
Word for word is never gonna be always translated, but the message is always the same! Jesus!
Yes Wes Huff made a mistake, he said Paul said it was 400 people when it was 500, but we aint all perfect could it be mind blank or slip of the tongue maybe.
Being on Joe Rogan I think he did a good job. In three hours conversation I would have likely done worst.
Also 400 is part of 500 so it's inaccurate but not deceptive. If he'd said 5000 that would an issue.
I caught that when he said it, but I knew it wasn’t that big a deal.
I thought about this some more and the chance that it was exactly 500 is basically zero. It was more than likely give or take ten or twenty on either side of that.
I noticed that he makes a lot of silly mistakes like that when he speaks. He even did it during the Billy Carson debate, he kept saying masculine plural when he meant to say masculine singular pronoun, but he corrected himself after doing it several times. I've noticed that sometimes he corrects himself and sometimes he doesn't, probably because he doesn't realize he did it. I think this might be a side effect of just trying to cram so much knowledge into your brain. Where you suddenly just start to sort of jump over the simple details in your mind.
Dan is an LDS "scholar" and shouldn't be taken seriously. Hope this helps
I feel like LDS and scholar don't fit into the same sentence
He denies Jesus divinity therefore he is an anti-christ (Christ denier)
He is a biblical scholar. That’s what he studied…probably knows more then you.

I would LOVE to see Wes debate Dan. Dan has to be one of the most dishonest scholars of all time. The reason he gets people is he mostly presents the data accurately, but interprets the data through the lens and with the same presuppositions as a liberal, atheistic, strict materialist scholar would. And the craziest part is he’s a Mormon! One thing is for sure he will never bring an ounce of the scrutiny he brings for the Christian texts to the Book of Mormon or the claims of Joseph Smith.
I've watched a lot of Dan out of fascination because he's a highly qualified scholar who uses his training to argue that new testament is meaningless. 90% of his content is about how most Christians believe in falsehoods about the bible, while he holds a materialist position that truth is...more or less socially constructed. Conveniently, this leads to the conclusion that bible either aligns with every cultural development in the last 10 years, or has no guidance on any specific moral issue at all. Watching him jump through mental hoops is a great reminder of how intelligence doesn't always make you right, but it does makes you better at rationalizing your way to an existing conclusion.
I dealt with Dan many times on TIKTOK, as have other people. I don't have a PHd but I have a masters in Biblical studies and research heavily. He consistently twists the text, I have caught him straight lying about the Greek and language in multiple places. When people even in a non-confrontational way demonstrate Dan is incorrect multiple times he blocks them.

Greek here and a Christian.
Word for word means exactly that.
When people ask me to help them with the translation of verses of the New Testament to english, I have to do it, word for word. And since Greek is such a deep, multi-leveled language (Hebrew is also like that), with certain words having 2,3,4 different meanings, I have to give all of them.
That's what "word for word" means.
I think that Wes made a mistake, due to his enthusiasm.
Peace.
But mispelling doesn’t take away from it being word for word. Especially if the word means the same in the context… it would’ve been inaccurate if he said letter for letter.
@@tiffanydaniel8996did you miss the part where there’s 19 words missing?
I know very little about all of this but the question at 6:45 is the right one. From what I've been hearing, there were 20 total copies of Isaiah in the same discovered collection of Dead Sea scrolls and the various copies have some or all of those "missing" verses in them. So, same cave, the same collection of the scrolls. So, the document the guy is showing on the screen is only one of those 20 copies.
"word for word" was a bad phrase for Wes to use. Still proud of him though.

Wes Huff COOKED Billy Carson 🔥
Thanks for checking this dude bro. I'm tired of him
It’s the definition of “I don’t know why you’re hating from outside of the club, you can’t even get in”.
In terms of preservation of a manuscript, how is complete words missing not considered a significant difference? The objective of the preservation of manuscripts is to ensure that what we have today is literally what was written by the gospel writers. The argument of: eh it’s fine if words are missing it’s no big deal; as long as the message is the same it’s okay, works if you concede that the text isn’t completely preserved but the claim that was made by Huff was that it is completely preserved. To say well he didn’t mean completely preserved as in literal complete preservation opens the door to question everything else Huff claimed in the podcast. I think that’s the point these guys are missing here.
Thank you. Finally a reasonable comment. Saying something is “word for word identical” when there are 19 words missing is simply false.
I am a Christian but Wes saying that it's Word for Word identical just isn't true. Even though the differences don't change the message, it's not word for it identical.

1Jn 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Do you not believe what the Bible says?
@@LibertyinChrist01 Yes, you’re free from the penalty which is death. But to act like you don’t do these things would be a lie.
@LibertyinChrist01 I believe the entire Bible. I also believe you to be drowning in delusional self-righteousness.
What you're really saying is that your life - every word, thought, action, behavior, intention and desire - is as pure and holy as Christ's.
Can some link to where Wes corrects himself?
Thank you for exposing this man
The message has been saved to it truth nothing changed
So they guy is in the mormon cult
“Unresolved issues with their fundamentalist parents…” Ain’t that the absolute truth…
Listen, I am a Christian, I was praying and rooting for Wes, but the minute that Wes said, “word for word” I knew that was a mistake. The problem with that is Joe is going to repeat over and over again for 1000 episodes that “Isiah is the same word for word” and then someone is going to go to Joe and say, “that Christian lied to you!”
This is exactly how our memory works which is why Dan had to eat humble pie as he did the exact same thing in a 8 minute video that he excused Wes of doing. Unless you have a photographic memory you don't remember things in the past exactly as they are like a computer would. As Dan admits it's very possible Wes was not being dishonest since he did the same thing.
When I go back and play some games I loved as a teen I soon realize they weren't as good and fun as I remembered them to be.
Here's a question for you Ruslan- Did YOU look up what the significant differences are? I mean, If you are going to take the time and do an entire podcast about this subject could you not take the time to educate yourself? Such Christian apologist arrogance (and willful ignorance) is par for the course.
Lots of Dan’s opinions make more sense when you realize that he’s Mormon
I could make a book report on things I like and still spell a bunch of things wrong
So it sounds like your concern can be boiled down to the fact that when I said "significant differences," you thought that I meant *theologically* significant differences, rather than textually significant differences. That seems clear to me from your characterization of "significant differences" as "it changes the nature of God or it changes the nature of this orthodox view." As a textual critic, though, I'm very clearly talking about textually significant differences, and yes, the omission of entire verses is textually very significant. I would have imagined you would have realized I wasn't talking about theologically significant differences towards the end of my video when I referred to the inevitable apologetic moving the goalposts to the question of whether or not they affect doctrine, but that didn't seem to register, because all you did was blithely affirm that they didn't instead of realizing that should have been a clue to you that my commentary was about textually significant differences and not theologically significant ones.
I'm happy to extend an olive branch, though. I'm not interested in debates, but I'd be happy to join you on a livestream to discuss my position on this issue so we can both get some clarification, because I think you're operating under some misapprehensions about me, and I'd like some clarity on some of the things you've stated here that I imagine are going to get diluted in a comments section.
If you're not willing to defend your position in a formal setting it's safe to say you're not confident in it.
But they aren’t concerned with textual differences if/when they don’t affect the truth of the Gospel. If your argument is that it DOES, then it would have behooved you to explain that in the video.
So you can make a charge that they overlooked your point, but your textual differences point doesn’t hold any theological water, so it was dismissed out of hand.
Thanks Dan. Yes when I heard “significant differences” I was expecting something like the “suffering servant” Jesus prophecies to be missing (as some of my Jewish friends have alluded to Christian’s adding into Isaiah) I appreciate the olive branch and will reach out on IG
Honestly, I watched the Wes Huff episode of Joe Rogan yesterday, when he said the texts matched word for word, I didn’t even consider he might me using a figure of speech, but I assumed because of his knowledge and expertise that he literally meant “word for word”
I have the mindset of the message, and was like yeah I get what he's saying.
But I can very easily understand the opposite viewpoint.
Yeah that’s what any reasonable person would assume. I totally disagree with Ruslan here. Wes made a false claim by saying they were word for word identical.
@ Rogan even immediately asked, “Word for word?” And Wes said, “Word for word.”
@@joelcampos8795 Rogan even immediately asked, “Word for word?” And Wes said, “Word for word.”
@PastorTed I took it as the message didn't change.
Same thing when you buy electronics, you get instructions, on one side is written English on the other side Spanish or Chinese or Indian, it's word for word the same and also the same message about what to do not to do or handle the device
A Mormon scholar? 😂
Dan went from difference on ALMOST everysingle verse
To : well 90% accurate
Also his MENTOR which he worked with on the deadseascroll also agree the similarity of the scroll and the masoretic text.
If Wes Huff was just some young pastor who took a couple of theological classes, letting his "word for word" comment can be expected to slip out.
But the dude is a textual critic, it's a dough head moment in his training that hopefully he'll never slip up again. The young man still needs a few years.
With that other dude criticizing Wes, I'm having to repent a lot at this moment because I keep on imagining the words, "sucker punch".
I had a fun " debating" Dan on X over his claim that Mosaic sexual law was all about power. In other words, the laws were made so men could justify their power over others. I took the position that it was made to reflect natural law. In the end, he told me to read a bunch of books that agree with him..
Hes doing satans dirty work
I think Dan wants to get a shot at "The Joe Rogan Experience"....but he doesn't convince me with any overwhelming evidence
Dan , ruslan and Billy Carson need to start a new Channel! It would be like the View of RUclips theology Channels 😂😂😂
Dan: "There are significant differences in Isaiah."
Everyone else: "Cool. Can you show us one that are significant and not a few punctuations missing, but actual differences that change the text and meaning?"
Dan: "Trust me bro."
Its called haterism
“I’m gonna debate you because I’m mad at my mom.” 😂
If the KJV was good enough for the apostle Paul it’s good enough for me
The KJV didn't exist in the first century AD.
@josemuniz_ what xD brutha i hate to tell u this, but King James Bible is over a thousand years after Paul died. He wrote part of the New Testament lol
😂😂😂
@@timothytakang5407it was a joke?
The KJV was published in 1611. We actually have older texts now than we did in 1611 like the dead sea scrolls, so the translations we have now are using older manuscripts. The KJV is good, but so are many of the modern translations. Modern translations are also easier to understand because they use modern language. Many words have completely changed meaning in the past 400 years, so the NKJV is probably better for general reading.
If Wes made a claim that wasn't true, he should absolutely be called out. We shouldn't ever be exaggerating things because it ultimatley makes us look bad when someone corrects us.
Shocking news flash. As Christians we're not attempting to claim what Muslims pretend to claim, in that there's 100% accuracy. When Wes Huff said "they're the same" I immediately knew he meant "they're very similar".
God Logic podcasts clears up all the Islamic issues doesn’t it?
Wes huff is clearly anointed. Don't mess with him.
IP sent dan running too
lol, it’s because when you’re arguing with somebody that thinks the world is flat you kind of just give up because they don’t play by the same rules on facts. I love a lot of IP’s content, but he’s no scholar for sure. But he doesn’t have to be he’s not operating in the critical scholar atmosphere.
@z8urducks lol if you think dan won that, I don't know what to tell you. Good luck with that.
@@Deckardcutspace “Won” you don’t see the problem with that thinking. 🤦♂️
Yo, maybe Dan was rocking out to School House Rock “Conjunction junction what’s your function!”
