The final verse was a tribute to Jack whose parents who were in the audience that night. So was the Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The story goes that behind the scenes he was told not to do it, or that it wouldn't be appropriate as Boris was there. Apparently Dave said, Idgaf. So, ofcourse they tried to silence him. However, he was there to receive the album of the year award for Psychodrama and do his set. It would've been more controversial if he hadn't done it and publicised that he was censured. The Brits had gotten a lot of flack for not honouring black artists.

Dave is a Global superstar, America are the only ones, not to embrace him because of an ignorant view of British Rappers and the accent, However he is finally starting to make waves across the pond....
Recently done a track with Jack Harlow which I absolutely loved but my Favourite is Clash ft Stormzy another UK superstar that become only the 3rd black Rapper in history to headline Glastonbury after Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Glastonbury is the biggest Music Festival in the world. It's the daddy of festivals.
I hope this opens the door for you on Dave and the likes of Stormzy
