- In the first episode of the series, Max McMurdo gives a guided tour of the old Mercedes Sprinter ambulance he’s bought to convert into a fully functional camper van. Will this project be the ultimate test for the design and upcycling fanatic?
He paid only £1,500 for the ambulance and has some big ideas, including solar panels, full sized double bed, quadrant shower and modular cabinets. Max plans to create a contemporary and eco-friendly camper that meets all his needs using the skills he learnt building his floating home.
This self build series will follow Max as he converts this 20 year old Sprinter into the ultimate off grid camper. Perfect for paddle boarding, surfing, hiking and that instagram van life. Join Max as he gives you a quick van tour before he gets into the real hard work.

What did u do with the ambulance sirens and light bar?
Do vans converted to ambulances have lower geared diffs for better acceleration but less economy?
