There are other cons: negative impact on one's physical and mental health for example. There are a lot of hidden costs that no-one will tell nurses/NAs/HCAs about. Long hours...you are turning into a zombie...you just sleep, eat and work...plus you are exposed to other people's negative vibes/unresolved, internal conflicts etc, which further damages - irrevocably - your health. Working unsocial hours - another con...you will have to work on NY eve, Xmas, bank hols. Irregular shift patterns further destabilize your circadian rhythm, which leads to a whole set of other physical issues, including and not limited to cancer. Do your own research. Remember that there are hidden costs that not everyone will want to share with you. My recommendation is this: if you want to do this for money, DON'T. If it's not your calling, move on.
Thanks for sharing.
Please could u do video on working as agency nurse as top up /full time pros & cons your opinion
Great suggestion! I've spoken with a lot of my colleges about this!
Hi Maria, first of all I'd like to thank you for serving as a guide and advisor for aspiring nurses not only here in the UK, but all around the world. I had watched plenty of your content and took on what you have recommended in regards to interview tips and your views and opinions of the role. I'm happy to say that I shall start as Student Nursing Associate this April!
I just wanted to ask if you could elaborate on what you mentioned in this video about RNs who took the nursing associate path that once a RN, they may not be able to specialize. Does this mean that they can only practice in a specific role? I hope you can expand on this.
Thank you for this comment. I think it means that they are registered with the NMC as general nurses, rather than adult/child/mental health/ld. As I said in the video, I am not 100% sure and I urge you to look into this. Once I have more information I'll update this comment.
Hi Maria, could you please help me which text book is useful for drug calculations and adult nursing? Especially anatomy and physiology ? I would be very grateful if you could guide me. Thank you
Is emotional burnout equivalente to compassion fatigue?
I think they're very similar. Main trigger for compassion fatigue is constant experince or exposure to trauma? Whereas burnout is more related to organisational factors such as workload, culture and all of that stuff. They can go hand in hand. What do you think?
Can you think of anymore?
Travel nurses
Any guides for international students? 🥴
Yes, I have plenty of videos!
I have a question about nursing courses in the UK.
can anyone who a healthcare degree could get into nursing in the UK?
Yes.
