Scared? Past tense? This intro still manages to leave me feeling like something terrifying is gonna happen but I can't look away because it is full of awe and wonder in the most biblical sense.
What makes both the Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits so scary is that the stories are often drawn from urban legends which tend to have a slight crumb of truth to them. They say truth is stranger than fiction, so weird shit COULD happen… that’s the kernel of consideration that keeps us up at night with the lights on and holding a baseball bat!
I miss The Outer Limits, it had quite an impact on me. The three that struck a chord the most with me were: Quality of Mercy, The Voyage Home, and Dead Man's Switch.
Observation: The later Outer Limits shows were far more creepier than those of the original. Contemplative: If only there was one long version of the intro that could be made combining the list of everything "they" control without it sounding broken up. That would be awesome.

When I saw this, I thought they were going for a modern "Twilight Zone" clone. This came out around the same time. It's creator was Robert Bloch, who did "Psycho." It's heartbreaking (and speaks loud, deafening volumes) about us that this one was only appriciated long after it's time. What's wrong with us?

Agreement: No. But it was almost as good. It didn't focus on bringing out points or lessons about meatbag human nature/interaction like Twilight Zone did; but more on just being spooky. At least that's what I recall about the Outer Limits.

I think this was the version of the opening titles used when the show moved from Showtime to Sci-Fi (SyFy) for the final two seasons.

Quality of mercy had a massive plot hole in the sense that he was stupid to say the plan out loud in an alien prison anyways.
