- IMPORTANT INFO: Crank Pulley Bolt Torque error in video. I only torqued the bolt to 48 lbs/ft in the video. The service manual says to tighten the bolt an additional 60 degrees. (Lubricate the bolt threads with new engine oil before installation).

Hey Duy, you will be good for another 100k miles now! I don’t know yet when I will be replacing mine, but it will be in the next few weeks for sure. Great video again and thanks for sharing 👍🏼 P.s. don’t forget replacing your radiator cap 😁 Danny
lol, thanks for the reminder Danny. Yeah, the new radiator cap and reservoir cap has arrived. I will add a new radiator cap installation video soon. Let me know if you run into any issues with your timing belt change. Take your time to mark the TDC perfectly on your belt and cam gears before removing the timing belt. The cam gears can spin very easily. If it does spin, you can use a ratchet to turn the cam gear back to TDC so it lines up with the marks on your timing belt. Thanks for watching the video and commenting.
I will have to watch again your procedure to align and mark everything as shown in your video. I’ve watched MDX’s timing belt replacement and it is the first time I see someone marking the timing belt itself. I also didn’t know there was holes in the cam gear’s covers to make sure everything is in the right position and I haven’t seen that in MDX’s timing belt replacement videos either. Your video is well detailed, I should be good! Thanks Duy
Hey Duy, are you sure 48fp torque for the crank shaft pulley bolt is enough? When I look at the MDX with the same engine, there’s 2 possible torque spec, 181fp or, 47fp plus 60 degres… Danny
@@Danny-pk9ht Hey Danny, thanks for pointing that out. I missed that part of the torque. You are correct, the service manual says to tighten the bolt an additional 60 degrees. (The mark on the bolt head lines up with the mark on the crank pulley.). We just drove over a thousand miles at 48 lbs/ft. I will need to tighten our crank pulley bolt today. I will also add this information to the video description so other viewers are aware of the error.
I am glad I can say I have contributed with something lol. You’re helping me a lot with my ZDX with all your content 👍🏼😊
How long have you had your ZDX? I’ve always wanted one! Do they hold up pretty well?
Hi, We have had our Acura ZDX since 2011. It has been a great vehicle and we still love it. It gets more compliments now than it did when it was new. People used to think it was ugly and weird looking. The ZDX is relatively easy to fix when things go wrong. Most of the engine and mechanical parts are interchangeable with the more common 2007-2013 Acura MDX. Over the past 13 years, we have gone through 3 alternator replacements, 1 starter, 1 A/C compressor, and 3 batteries. That’s pretty much it for repairs over the past 13 years. The rest was normal maintenance that all internal combustion vehicles need. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching and commenting.
How much will the dealership charge for this type of work?
This will cost well over $1500 at the local dealership in our area. Here is everything that was replaced in this video. Timing belt, water pump. Oil pump O-ring leak repair, oil filter housing gasket, oil change, coolant change, accessory drive belt replacement, and J-pipe header nuts replaced. That’s just what was done in this video. I also had to replace radiator cap and coolant reservoir cap when I found it leaking a little during this video. We spent around $300 for the parts.
Only for the timing belt replacement (not even considering replacing the water pump) my Acura dealership charges $1,795 CAD + taxe
@@DIYwithDUYthank you for the valuable info I appreciate it 👍
