Christopher Wood Yes, the steamer heats up the materials to make them more pliable and easier to manipulate throughout the installation. There are times that you may need to build the foam back up to the original shape if it is damaged, but in that case, we would suggest a professional installer. We strongly recommend steam for every installation as it helps rejuvenate the seat foam and makes the upholstery more pliable and easier to install. Greg & Melba James Unfortunately we do not have a pattern for the Grand Sport. You might check with a local automotive upholstery shop though, most of the time smaller shops are tooled up to produce more one-off kits tailored to your seats specifically.
