This was a breath of fresh air. I don't understand why one would buy Gucci when you could support a smaller local business for a fraction of the cost. Bonus points if the business donates a portion of profits to a charity. Nice things don't always have to come with a label.

I'm extremely late to the Cristine party but honestly seeing this video was what finally got me to buy from Holo Taco. Partially out of appreciation for how honest she seems, and I think she is actually a decent role model compared to many other RUclipsrs who young kids (unfortunately) look up to. Awesome video!

If you’re looking to branch out with collections I would buy a Contra x Simply box set in a HEARTBEAT…just imagine the polishes: blue to electric pink multichrome called Bisexual Mood Lighting. A gunmetal grey with red flecks called Guillotine Grey (the red is the blood of the bourgeoisie). When I was a teen I went shopping for Christmas with my aunt and uncle and I distinctly remember my uncle complaining about companies getting free advertising by putting their logo/company name on their products. Now, whenever I go shopping for clothes I always think about that and make a conscious effort not to buy clothing with brand names on them. So it’s interesting to see that branding is so important and seen as a status symbol.

I work in a preschool that's catered towards rich families and let me tell you, parents actually buy clothes from the Armani, Versace and Gucci etc. Kids collections for them to wear to school. Where we do messy arts and crafts, and play outdoors. It's wild honestly.

Yeah, I remember being a teenager with a household that didn't make a whole lot of cash, and going to school was hell sometimes. i have one chanel nail polish and it's the best one i have. The color last forever, very opaque, very deep color.

I was most suprised Gucci is a so called luxury brand but you can but things right from their website? But the value of Gucci for every item goes down very quick while other luxury brand items gain value over time.
And my personal opinion, most items are super ugly. Like the colors, the logo, especially the collabs all seem super basic and ugly but that's just me 😂

I think it's kinda weird that gaudy old brands are putting the same logo on everything and still trying to sell it today. Like that Mickey t-shirt is... whatever the opposite of high fashion is. It looks like something you'd see at a flea market, but in a bad way. I went back to 13:03 and am staring at the shirt to try to make it look good. If you removed the logo/Mickey/belt thing it would be an okay off-white shirt. Shoulder seam is kinda low so it maybe doesn't fit the model very well?

Excellent point! I like the way, the sensible way Christine approached this and educated about it. At 63, I have used expensive polishes and noticed the same thing. BECAUSE of Christine I’m not getting acrylic nails anymore either. My nails are slowly growing out, I own a farm so I don’t need the length, but feel better about myself.
