"Why do you ask people why they don't want kids instead of asking people why they DO want to have kids?" *I present to you all, Ben with a watermelon strapped on his belly*
Personally I have never wanted to have kids. I remember years ago having a conversation with a like-minded person and she gave the best answer to the "why don't you want kids" question. She said "There are too many selfish moms and dads in the world, I like being selfish but not at a kid's expense." With that in mind, I found the right person for me. Due to our ages at the time (I was mid-30s, he was mid-40s), he did ask me early on because he knew many my age rushing into marriage and kids due to biological clock ticking. I had no interest in that. Marriage is on the table because we're in the US and I have the government job with the health insurance while he pays out of pocket but there's no other reason to rush the process.
It took ten years to find a doctor who didn't just condescendingly pat me on the head and turn me away. Gotta say, there was a ten second moment after all the sedation wore off that I was like, 'omg I can never undo this!' followed immediately by 'right, and that was the point. This is awesome!'
Christine: *talking about troom troom/woohoo/pregnancy hacks 2 secs later Christine: *talking about kids being forced to make youtube videos* boi that escalated-
I love the serious reflection from simply mum and dad at the end. I'm at an age where people tend to ask me the question "so when will you have kids", it's never "do you want kids".. and it's just sad that there is an expectation for every woman to want kids. Plus, Ben's comment about the current state of the world is exactly my dilemma
same. I work as a nursery school teacher and honestly, kids are great. I love working with them, but at the moment I just can't imagine having one myself. There is so much responsibility, things that can go wrong, what about the overpopulation, what about the money... I could go on forever. And I think that's ok. It's great if you want to have kids but no drama if you don't, too.
Omg that was what I was thinking too. Like I know it's serious but I couldn't stop laughing. It's like when you shouldn't laugh but you laugh because you shouldn't laugh.
I was driving home from school and some guy rolled down his window and yelled “IM GONNA BE A FATHER TODAY” and drove to the hospital. That was the most adorable thing ever to happen
So true my boyfriend wants more kids and was so excited when we had our first and asks me regularly if I want to have more because he's ready whenever I'm case I didn't already know lol
I knew I didn't want kids when I was a kid. People would always say I'd change my mind. I'm 25 now and still no urge. In fact I want kids less than ever. Don't let anyone pressure you into doing something you don't want to do.
Oh man, I relate to the question: "when are you gonna have kids?" And to the statement, "oh, you'll change your mind," when you say you don't want them. smh.
I went to my gynecologist today and she was asking what I like to do for fun. I told her I like to do my nails and her response was "oh, like simply nailogical?". I about died.
I am a woman who wanted to get married and have children, i have always wanted that but i respect the hell out of people who don't want that! I love Cristine and Ben for being open about their opinions because people need to see Marriage isn't for everyone. Children most certainly aren't for everyone. Every day i see parents that should never have had children and it's clear they actually regret doing so.
The struggle and/or loss due to infertility or miscarriages are reason enough for people to mind their own business and be respectful by not asking those leading questions. I hope there will be a day when that's commonly understood.
People shouldn’t even ask, why would anyone need to know when someone is or isn’t having kids? Literally no one needs to know and they’ll know if/when you do decide to have children. People are so crass and thoughtless.
Currently going through this! I feel you 100%. I still love Cristine though & I love the fact that she doesnt bash women for wanting them either as well as not wanting them. I wish more adults understood the whole "dont ask" issue. Especially when they ask "Do you have any" and when you reply no they said "good dont!" But you only say no because you have fertility issues. 🤦🏻♀️
If I had $1.00 every time I heard “you’ll change your mind” I could afford to move to my own secluded island where I wouldn’t have to hear it anymore!!
I’ve never understood why people even say that anyways. Imagine if everyone really did want and have kids? We would have waaaaaay more people on earth. At least if people don’t want kids then it balances out a bit with the people who want them or have a whole bunch.
Ikr. “You’ll like kids when you’re older” “I used to not like kids either” “But kids like you so much” Like, f*ck off boomer relatives. Just because you thought it was important to have a kid doesn’t mean everyone wants a kid. I appreciate that they accept I’m a lesbian, but they just can’t get a grasp of the thought that I don’t like kids unless 1) They are my cousins on my mom’s side or 2) They’ve been in school long enough and have learned some basic knowledge about stuff. I don’t care if they didn’t like kids when they were younger, not everyone has to change their mind because they did. I don’t care that little kids for some reason really like me and gravitate towards me, doesn’t mean I have to like them. Sorry this became a mini rant about some of my boomer relatives, but I’ve been wanting to just let it out somewhere at some point.

Sea Breeze every year the sims get more realistic once all of them escape they all start making youtube channels that’s y there are so many channels like troom troom and woo hoo
I love how the woohoo/troom troom people wrote that title like every woman has been pregnant, wants to get pregnant, and/or *can* get pregnant (i.e.: trans women, infertile women, non-binary amab people)

30 yr old woman just had my first baby. I'll be the first to tell u the questions dont stop even if u do have kids. Dont be afraid to hold ur ground and tell them it's none of their business. I do all the time. Now its "when are u guys getting married?" Haha. No. It's ok to not want kids or to get married or any of that. Do what makes u happy.
everyone has their own life, just because someone's ideal life has kids in it,doesn't mean you have to too, if you aren't ready to have one or want one,it not only affects your life but the kids lives,so screw all those people,I am 26 and had a kid earlier, but not like I wanted one right away....I always tell my friends to enjoy their lives because unless you reaaallllyy one one, it will change your life,I hate when people talk on having kids like is a easy thing, they take a lot of work, is your own life don't let people dictate how you live.
I'm 22 and I'm starting to get those questions! Our fertility and whether or not we want to use it is NOBODY'S business. People really need to start to mind their own business.
I hear ya! I get it from extended family more than other people. I was always 'if i met a guy and he wanted a family i'd be open to it' but that didn't happen and i'm fine with that too. I feel the most for women who want families and can't have them for what ever reason. Questions like that must hurt.
I was listening to BTS (weird I know) before watching this and while I waited for the video to load I just heard BTS playing in my head in a troom troom voice
Loved the "reflections" part. Husband and I are both early 30s and been married 8 years. Neither of us have or want kids and its definitely irritating getting all those "oh, you still have time to change your mind" comments. You guys are happy and have cats that love you enough to let you try and put diapers on them. That's a great life.
Danielle Baldridge people need to stop asking women when they are going to have children. I’ve told my kids that if they don’t bring home grandchildren, I’m fine. But...if they don’t bring home grandpuppies? I’m going to disown them. 😂😂
Kind of scary how these "not troom troom" videos reinforce the fact that the future dad is not looking forward to being a dad at all and the future mom is absolutely static with it all.
I will add to this in a different perspective. I don't like the idea that if the dad is unhappy, he feels obligated to stick around. Sure, you made a baby, but if you're that unhappy about it, just leave and tell the mom you'll give child support. OR, don't stay with the mom if you don't like her, just do split custody like amicable adults 🤷♀️ my expectations for reality are too high lol
When I was pregnant I picked up crap off the floor all the time. I did yoga at least a couple of times a week, lived on the 3rd floor of an apartment building with no elevator and a dog that had to go out a few times while my husband was at work, and I could flip a mattress. Unless you have some complication, you should be able to do many (if not all) of the things you do before.
Ben is such a good sport. Also They’re just the sort of people who would be great parents, but let’s think about that, it SEEMS like they’d be great because they have a supportive and open healthy dynamic. The mere fact Ben checked in with Cristine to ask if watching this elicited any maternal inklings was 👌🏻 👌🏻 👌🏻 That said, and all things considered the best people in the world will be AWFUL parents if they didn’t want to be parents. Remember that when you meet amazing people who you think “should” be parents. Oh, they just said the same thing... Well, I concur!
I really appreciate the Simplymomlogical and Dad moments. You're right - not all women WANT to get or be pregnant. Not all women can get pregnant. What happens in their bodies is literally no one's business but their own. But can we also talk about the ridiculous stereotypes for the fathers out there? I'm a married mom of 3 and am constantly asked "who is watching the kids while you're working/out with friends/traveling for school/insert-something-that-takes-me-out-of-the-home here?" Um, their dad? Their dad/my husband is being a FATHER and caring for his children. This Troom Troom/Woo Hoo video makes men look like they're constantly checked out and looking to escape. That's unfair and demeaning in itself!
I totally agree. They really portray the men as being these lazy people that dont care. My Uncle has a small child and he is like the best, most involved father ever. There are some great dads out there, and there are dads that dont get to be great, because the stereotypes are pushed down on them. I saw to guys (Looked like a pair of straight men like friends, but idk) walk together with a stroller talking today. I thought that was cute as hell. Ill stop ranting now :P

@@peaceforworld2011 Bitch she didn't say she's 16. She says she didn't change her mind in 16 years. Learn to read. She can be 38 and not want children for 16 years. That doesn't mean she is 16.
@@peaceforworld2011 Yes, OP may be 16, but theres also the possibility that OP won't change her mind either. I’m pretty sure I’ve said those exact words
I have as well. Then the kid did a number in his diaper. The mom (an ex-sister-in-law) wanted me to change him!!! Nope. (Jan Griffiths).
I've held a kid once.. and i hated it
I've held my baby sister multiple times. It was against my will.
Yes. I held my cousin once when she was a toddler. Now I want to facewall myself instead of facepalm. 😑
Yea, me too. I held my (at the time) baby cousin and she pissed on my pants
Personally I have never wanted to have kids. I remember years ago having a conversation with a like-minded person and she gave the best answer to the "why don't you want kids" question. She said "There are too many selfish moms and dads in the world, I like being selfish but not at a kid's expense."
With that in mind, I found the right person for me.
Yes that is such a good reason. Thank you for sharing
Now I have the best answer, thank you very much, can't wait to leave someone speechless with that response
THIS. I like being selfish too. I'm just not selfless enough to be a good parent.

You do you. If you want one great, if not that’s fine too. There nothing wrong with not having kids.
Im in a sort of inner turmoil over it. My sister is having one and i have to watch her kid, my mom says "it'll be good practice"
I work at a grocery store, and someone asked me if I have kids....
Its a persons choice to have a child or not. Nobody should be shamed into having one.

I knew I didn't want kids when I was a kid. People would always say I'd change my mind. I'm 25 now and still no urge. In fact I want kids less than ever. Don't let anyone pressure you into doing something you don't want to do.

Every day i see parents that should never have had children and it's clear they actually regret doing so.
My only question is will you ever have more fluffy children?
I read that wrong
Infertility is also an issue when people ask things like “when are you having kids?” Some people can’t and it’s a really tender and painful issue.

I don’t care if they didn’t like kids when they were younger, not everyone has to change their mind because they did.

Just grab a coat hanger!
Grab a knife, cut it, and then eat it.
_Because it's a watermelon..._

Welcome to Part 555,874 of Why Christine and Ben are never having children
Ahaha
Never say never
Tbh I know the feeling of having to explain why you don't have children yet, even if you are 20 people say 'oh you should have popped out like 6 by now'. The pressure to have children is ridiculous. I do want kids, but I want to do it in my own time, not as soon as I start having periods. Let me live my life, have a career etc. Stop asking people why they don't have kids yet / at all.
I mean... They already have menchi and Zyler.. Why add a 3rd child into the mix?
Childfree FTW
I love it so effing much when these two have down to earth, serious conversations. Its so nice to listen to these cuz i rarely find stuff like these nowadays on youtube. "Just because something is a possibility doesn't mean you have to do it" *Cristine 2020*
"Do you have an unwanted pregnancy? It's not a problem anymore!!"
