Deep breaths of oxygen is to fill your lungs with oxygen before you fall asleep. Air contains 21% oxygen. We want you to breathe 100% oxygen. It provides a buffer in case you temporarily stop breathing and also since your breaths will be more shallow when the bronchoscope is inserted in your lungs and you are under anesthesia. The “nurse” may have been a nurse anesthetist or a physician anesthesiologist. They put you to sleep using IV medication. Giving oxygen is standard during any type of procedure requiring anesthesia. Love your content and wishing you the best! - an M.D. anesthesiologist
Awesome, thank you for clarifying things for me
That is good news. Hopefully next tests will prove to be the same. Sending you positive vibes 🙏🙏🙏
I was given oxygen for a bronchoscopy and for mouth surgery and i dont have cancer. I think it's just standard procedures for some things. It sounds like you have an amazing team behind you,as well as us cheering you on!! Xxx
My husband had a "mass" in his lungs and it turned out to be a bacterial infection.
Jason, glad to hear it was okay. Continuing to root for you. Happy to see you are also continuing to post videos.
Great news. Long shot but could you have a mold problem in your apartment? Probably silly idea but who knows.
There is some mold in my roommates bathroom behind the toilet. We sprayed it with a bleach water combo to kill it. Other than that I haven’t seen any other signs of mold.
The other bronch team is probably oncology specialists who deal with lung cancer cases. This way they can get any specific samples they may need for staging.
Pulmonary is a speciality. Pulmonary oncology is a sub speciality.
Sounds like they are doing everything they should be doing.
(Hugs from the 313)
Waiting is the worst for test results.
@@JasonMazurek mold spores float in the air.... Do a home mold test....
@@JasonMazurekcan’t always see it
@@JasonMazurek I had a mold problem. Bleach DOES NOT kill it. It will come back. Cleaning vinegar is the only thing that made it disappear for good
Great news on the findings. Major relief. Btw….I hate that you have to wait so long for the pet scan. Some things move snail pace. Just keep bugging them.
Probably interventional radiology will repeat the sample so they can see in realtime that they are sampling the mass.
Ask for a warm towel to wrap both elbows and forearms for 15 min prior to labs
Hugs and still praying I wish this be done but you’ll win it
Good news!! You look and sound really good, Jason!! 😊
Thank you
Sounds good. Hopefully the next test will good also.
When I was having my surgery for breast cancer like you they put the large mask and told me it was pure oxygen and to breathe deep. That’s all I remember. 😊
Medication IV was your sleep meds, oxygen is used because your breathing slows down with anesthesia drugs.
Keeps your airway secure and blood oxygen levels up and monitors your breathing. Strange all this happened after placing your port? They need to find out what's happening. If you need, find a second opinion at any point in your care.
Praying for you 🙏✨ One day at a time.
The above is correct. They weren’t yanking your chain.
Propofol will knock you on your backside instantly.
Awesome news! 😊
My dad has lung cancer. Stage 4 non small cell. He had his bronchoscopy done and his lung collapsed. They puntured it. Said it was the worst pain he's ever felt. I am scared bc I go for a bronchoscopy next month 🙄
Yeah they say that was a possibility, luckily it didn’t happen
Goodness you need House. These doctors need to do research and think outside the box
