From the beginning, the tone has no guts, no flesh and no balls. Not quite a Mess tone. Did you record DI, in pre EQ setting? I love the tone of the amp, he has the genes of the old M - series, the Walkabout - and the Prodigy and Strategy heads. The WD 800 is able to mimic the tone of all this amps.
Ok, that head has some good features in a compact package for a fairly reasonable Mesa price. But....the tone is nothing special. I was expecting that warm Tone Hammer sound or that SWR sizzle. Leave it up to a guitar amp company to make bass amps and look at the sound you get. It doesn't sound any better than the tiny Trace Elliot Elf or the low-end Ampeg heads.
LOL this bass amp is a beast....I toured SVT and DB 751 for years and this head plus mesa 4x10 subway is it.....this guy did not even do the different settings......I may do a proper demo...
@@flyjohnson711 Well I think that Rose should have left the big blue diamond to the granddaughter instead of throwing it in the ocean and wasting money.
I hate trying to watch amp reviews when the guy plays with a pick or does slappity poppity the whole time and doesn’t show what it sounds like with regular pizzicato like 90% play most of the time.
I really have to wonder what the cross-section of viewers that are both interested in a Mesa amp and also exclusively play fingerstyle... I'm fairly certain your expectations are skewed toward the unrealistic.
DI was set to pre-EQ for the recording... no change in tone was heard the entire video.
It sounds like the entire video went through the DI in pre-EQ, the switch was even in the pre position on the shot you used.
That explains why I heard no change in tone throughout the entire video XD
Makes ya wonder why this video is still up years later
Awesome! Thanks for the vid!
Guitar player demoing a bass amp would be my guess.
That's a beautiful fucking bass man!
I like this guy and his reviews are great :-)
suhr makes basses? where have i been?

Dude...this head rules...it is just a crappy demo
Wich cabinet?
Mesa_Boogie Ultralight 4x10. He mentions it at about 1:29.

Why would you demo a bass amp only by playing almost entirely with pick?
maybe he's a pick player?

Another guitar store salesman in a dickies mechanics shirt pretending to be a musician. These reviews need to be bass only with no talking.
