.338 Lapua Magnum Recoil - 300 Grain Lapua Scenar OTM

The recoil of the .338 Lapua Magnum. The recoil is very manageable with this rifle due to its weight (14.6 lbs. complete with bipod) and muzzle brake. The .338 Lapua was the round that American Sniper Chris Kyle used to make the 2,100 yard shot that he is famous for.

Thought about building either a 300 win mag or a 338 lapua. I’ve shot 300wm’s before but never a 338 lapua. Is the recoil uncomfortable?

This set up recoil remarkably little for the caliber with the mizzle brake and all. I have a Ruger American Go Wild 300 Win Mag and it recoils like a .308 with the factory muzzle brake.
