here's the supposedly final version of my voodoo VIP remake. with most of the sounds ripped and this already having been worked on for a few years the goal was to make it sound as close to the original as possible.
sounds ripped from: pendulum @ pirate station 2017, winterfest 2009, stereoplaza 2010, pirate station 5, wmf 2007, the original mix and of course some were made from scratch. i absolutely could not have done this without the pirate station 2017 set rip (theres a 320 of it) !
also the bacteria patch used in this tune's been released through kilohearts phaseplant as one of the presets made by swire himself, under the bass hard category. maybe you should have a look !

This remix is basically pendulum finding an early prodigy song and deciding to make it better, prompting prodigy to find it and do a wicked music vid for it

Voodoo People is probably my favourite remixed song by Pendulum just because of the fact that 1. The original is great as fuck, and by one of the best bands of our current generation, 2. Drum N Bass fit Voodoo People so well. So when I found out this existed, you *know* I starting fucking bumpn'

What is happening in the bridges(?) at 1:42/2:26/4:05/4:49. The hats seem more muted for ~4 secs. I guess the different clips caused an amplification difference but I looked at Audacity plot spectrum and could not see a difference in any freqs. Maybe I'm old...?

Small question to the new version: Are the short noise sounds in the breakdown/build intentional?
initially i thought that those were watermarks but all of its playouts contain the sound so i'm pretty sure it's feedback from one of the synths he's used

@@notrobswire I don't know about him but now that you mention it, I'm struggling to work out what exactly this is, could you explain? Is it your own remix or another version Pendulum did but only played at sets? (cos either way it's different from the Pendulum mix that I know of)

full explanation for anyone wondering: this song is rob swire (the songwriter and producer of pendulum) changing the voodoo people remix into something different to surprise the crowd at a dj set. the idea is that when played out the crowd expects the original mix and gets a big vibe off the surprise of it being different. VIP in its title is an abbrevation of "Variation In Production". it's quite rare for a VIP mix to be released. sometimes the VIP mix is an upgraded (or unchanged) version of an earlier iteration of a track instead of being made after the final. In this case it has been made after the final (2005) in 2006.

Can't wait to play this out tomorrow night, I love how because Rob absolutely loved the build and sudden drop to silence in x-ray, he pretty much made an identical version of that for this VIP - so of course I'll be double dropping this with x-ray for full effect! (Shh)
