    I absolutely love your auto videos, your mustang stuff and and your sons RX7. The way you explain things and also how you have “I don’t know if this is perfect” mentality “but I’ll strive for it.”.It’s awesome to watch. I hope that you make this a regular gig / project…..even though I’m sure you kill it in your career and don’t need anything from RUclips. Guys like me benefit from your content. Cheers

    That's a lot of wiring headaches. Nice to see you got it all figured out. That would have drove me nuts.

    • @some-guys-garage
      @some-guys-garage  8 месяцев назад

      That was definitely an insanity-inducing moment.
      The irony of it all is that I have now removed all of those wires and replaced them as part of an ECU upgrade. Check out that video for more wiring insanity. :)
      Thanks for tuning in!

      LOL. Funny you should mention that. The BAC is disabled. I just started looking into that thing yesterday. More on that in the next vid.

      @@some-guys-garage basically this video showed up while i was watching some video about fd rx7. So i just clicked it. RUclips for some reason now shows me more of underrated videos which are good quality
      but don't have views that they deserve.

    I love your journey so far with this. What book are you using? Do you have any websites you use as your "Go To" for the information. I am going to be purchasing a RX 7 FC soon and would really love to have half the knowledge you seem to poses here.

    • @some-guys-garage
      @some-guys-garage  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks, man. It has been quite a journey.
      The book I'm referencing is the factory service manual. I found it on eBay. I wouldn't say the book is necessary because you can probably find all of the diagrams online, but I will say I have found the book to be worth every penny. I reference it regularly, and sometimes I find things in it that I wouldn't have ever thought to look for.
      For me, the most commonly referenced website is probably www.rx7club.com. But when I search for information I generally search far and wide. I'll take whatever information I can find when I'm trying to solve a problem.
      Good luck with your future project!

      I think you're right. I have been thinking that I want everything to be stable before I introduce brain surgery, but maybe I'm thinking about it wrong.

    • @some-guys-garage

      What do you know about the LINK ecu? Seems to me that the little AtomX would do the job nicely, but I don't want to end up wishing I had something that's not part of the base ecu. AtomX seems to have sufficient inputs and outputs. The open questions in my mind are:
      1) Trailing coils. It looks like these will need to be replaced with independent coils to eliminate the "toggle" signal.
      2) TPS. The range of motion on the stock TPS is less than half of the throttle travel. What's the best way to solve that problem?
      3) BAC. Does the standalone idle control work with the rotary's BAC device? I don't see how to set that up.

    • @TonyRx7
      @TonyRx7 Год назад +1

      @@some-guys-garage I have Mansoon link ecu. Works great. If you staying non turbo then atomx is great choice. It will get rid of most of your stock sensors.

    Iv heard of another jerry rigged car that ran well with low impedence NA inj on a s5 t2 high impedence from the forums for years. All good idle etc. Main thing is I thi k the archaic ecu has its fuel maps and thats it it wont deviate no matter what unless you run the also antiquated chipped Rteks.

    • @stevepeterson4154
      @stevepeterson4154 Год назад +1

      Yes its common to have pressure leaks at those specific spots you mentioned. New gaskets are the best way to solve that problem although at the throttle body I did use silicone like you alongside that small rubber piece.

    • @some-guys-garage

      I would actually like to put it back to the stock color (blue). I don't know if I can even find that color paint anymore, but I saw something that says the blue is one of the rarest colors for the RX7 FC. I generally like white, but there are too many white ones, and white can be a little drab. In the end, that will probably be left up to Bryson.
