I didn't even realize I was listening to a song about the Wing until the chorus hit. And I was really digging the song too. A+ for lyricism and smooth vocals.
This desk is better in almost every single way than the second digital desk I worked on. That was a 48 channel Neve Capricorn that reputedly cost £500,000 and needed a second air-conditioned room to house the i/os and processors. Mental how things have moved on in 25 years.
@@dougalex It refers to the channels on the surface, x32/m32 dosent have that capability. For example, having a DCA on the leftmost fader for example then having a mic then a bus on the next 2, so basically each channels are independent of the inputs, having much more options with the wing rather than the x32.
What strikes me is that the Behringer Wing is not even connected. only the power is connected. but it is a nice mixer for the studio. everything you need is in this mixer. I hope that Behringer also comes with a compact version, especially for the small home studio.
Thanks for your video. Using the Behringer WING 48 channel console may I use the analog gear Neve 8816, Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor, UA 4-710D, Portico II buss processor and the Apollo x8p. I want the best of both worlds. Digital & analog gear.
Was this just an overview of the console? No stage boxes, no stage snake ? How do you connect your analog band xlr to the console and were. Can you still connect to back of console? Explain hooking inputs and outputs. Can you use the s32 snake box with this? Is anything interchangeable with the X32?
Thanks for doing this video. I just purchased this unit new and I gotta say... I'm extremely concerned with the lack of explanation about DAW integration (Logic for me) and the fact that there is NO USERS MANUAL or PHONE SUPPORT. Thanks guys, it is a fun video. When can we expect an owner's manual?
So help me understand please. I use a Yamaha MGP32 analog mixer and all my 32 inputs are busy as I have many keyboards, effects and drum machines connected. If this is a 48 channel mixer, where are the input connections on the back? Does is come with a separate digital box which then connects to the mixer? I just don't see enough inputs on the back of it. Thank you for explaining.
Jack makes yer sick ... Obviously he plays keyboards ... and I`ve seen/heard him play guitar ... and now we discover that the bugger can sing as well !
Wait, are you saying that the M/X 32 didn't have the feature to be able to individually assign the patchbay/routing? I have an old Roland M400 and it can do it.
I think my only issue with this is that you have to get external expansion if you want to record more than 8 mic channels at one time. Which I do. Bass drum, Snare top and bottom, hihats, three toms, two overheads. Then bass guitar, guitar and keyboards. Not enough physical inputs. Or am I missing something? Entirely possible.
We've got this recently for our church. I've understood almost everything. BUT, I can't understand what's the difference between Matrixes and Mixes? What is best for mixing the output for our broadcast streaming, if I want to have separate effects and group compressors for each section such as vocals, instruments, drums, etc..
The comment section is on another level here... Everyone thinks this is a studio mixer. It's a live mixer, built for use with AES-50 stageboxes. It's not an Audient ASP, it's not an SSL, it's not a hybrid desk. It's. Made. For. Live. Sound. The fact that you can multitrack with it is mostly for virtual soundcheck and live tracking. That's why it's FX section looks like this, that's why the sources/inputs paradigm exists. I know it's a hard pill to swallow, but not every piece of audio gear is made for the studio.
@@Kynect2Hymn ofc every mixer can be used in the studio, with different degrees of success. But when everyone and their mother comments about "daw integration" you kinda get the picture. And I'm not gatekeeping anything, how could I? By all means, use it in the kitchen too, just don't be surprised it doesn't do great at chopping onions.
Behringer has the ideas but is always missing full DAW intergration on their consoles. It's 2020! The idea of not understanding the need for a live to studio hybrid mixer in 2020 blows my mind. Also it only has 8 pres, which means less than the x32 which makes no sense. I get it's expandable but if you're saying it's a live console then you have to provide at least enough stock pres for micing drums, bass, guitar, keys, and vocalist, an maybe backgrounds. This is standard. Even for FOH it falls short. Any expansions should be beyond that but at minimum this is what we've always gotten. So this is both not quite a sufficient live mixer and also not integrated with Daws enough to be appropriate for studio use. Behringer has to get it together because they've got great ideas but seems not to understand where mixing is headed since 2015. It makes you wish another company that understood better cloned Behirngers products with what engineers need which is ironic. lol

Almost 200 inputs... Better to think of it as it lets you choose the mic pres you want to use instead of putting loads on the back that most of the users wouldn't use anyway
