    Ever since the Rodgers trade I am fascinated at the people who cover and root for the Jets. It's like Groundhog Year. Tigo is going all in. The only problem is: does a new GM going to want to hamstring his future teams? Wouldn't Fanning be redundant with your WR pick? He's not much of a blocker and if there was ever a line that needs a TE that can chip an Edge it the Jets.

    • @TalkingJetsWithTigo
      @TalkingJetsWithTigo  День назад +1

      Again this is the first of many rebuilds and the best QB available for the Jets is Rodgers. Lets not act like he was horrible last year. Also this Oline was actually a pretty good oline We ranked 17th in passblock and 12th in run block last year according to pff (so take that with a grain of salt). Also WR and TE are not the same thing and are not redundant picks ever. Fannin is an exceptional pass catcher absolutely but to say he isn't much of a blocker is absurd. He was and is quite good in the Run block and pretty average in pass pro. So like you said he is more than capable of chipping off the line and going and getting the ball. Also thats why i signed Ertz. He can be the inline TE while Fannin develops that part of his game. Remember this is a team sport not going to ask one guy to do it all. Just do your job.

    • @mitchstaff8281
      @mitchstaff8281 День назад

      @@TalkingJetsWithTigo I agree on the Rodgers thing. He's the only chance of you winning. The Oline play IMO was atrocious. Olu needs to be kicked inside IMO as he gets dominated by speed. Now maybe he can improve his footwork IDK. I just don't like the fit for some of the players like Hall. I think the Jets need more of a ball control offense with discipline to not have silly penalties and mental lapses.

    The odds of ARod playing for the Jets are extremely slim. Hard to imagine Glenn wanting him here & equally hard to imagine Rodgers wanting to play here under the new regime. I think it makes sense to eat the dead cap this year instead of next and go from there… So perhaps another video should be in the works ?

    • @BillySBC
      @BillySBC День назад +1

      I disagree, if you're a new HC you don't want to fight a 2-front-war on defense and offense if you don't have to. You roll back the offense and add a RT, then go 100% defense and try to make the playoffs in Year One. That is your best chance for success.

    • @charlesm7646
      @charlesm7646 День назад

      @ AG is trying to install a new culture here and I just don’t see it happening. It’s just too much baggage with Rodgers for an 8-9 win season at best. His offense is one dimensional and he’s a statue back there. Based on this season, there’s no reason to expect anything better from him next year being a year older. He’s also bound to get hurt again. I would be shocked if he came back.

    • @TalkingJetsWithTigo
      @TalkingJetsWithTigo  День назад +3

      AG has already come out and said he wants Aaron back. Aaron gives AG the best chance to win right now. We all heard his press confrence he wants to win and i dont understand why people think Aaron is a Culture destroyer? Are we going to act like the locker room would have been all peach and roses if we had Zack or Mike White known "good dudes"? Of course not winning cures most culture problems

    • @BillySBC
      @BillySBC День назад +1

      @ I think you're glossing over a lot of things that were not Aaron Rodgers related, like the offensive line being in flux and not playing well for about 65% of the season, and the Kicking game was awful, and the defense was getting run on at will most of the time and choking games away. If you add up the 3 or 4 games the Kickers cost us and the 3 or 4 games the defense choked away the Jets are at least 10-7 to 12-5 this season. You can't pin all-around dysfunction on one player. Plus the coaching was bad too. The good news is the Offense is in tact and at least a Top 12 to 15 offense minimum just by running it back and adding a Right Tackle. Than combine that with a much improved defense under Glenn and you should be able to make the playoffs in Year One. That's your best option here, to win now, which is what you want right now.

    • @BillySBC
      @BillySBC День назад +1

      Also I just wanna add, once you make the playoffs statistically you want a QB who has been there before and isn't in awe of the spotlight. Aaron Rodgers is that, he's been there many times before and is ready for it if it happens. You want that if you make the playoffs.

      I see what your saying but you dont force a pick you go best player a available. Also Glenn and Wilks build their defenses Back to front they would be more than okay with the Dline we have now + one FA and loading up the back 7

    • @TalkingJetsWithTigo
      @TalkingJetsWithTigo  День назад +1

      Just to explain why i didn't go IDL early and high was because of the history and philosophy that Wilks and Glenn believe in on Defense. The go back to front not front to back like JD and Saleh believed. They will prioritize Safeties Corners and LBs before Dline players. They want Coverage Sacks. Thats why when i worked this out i looked at the Dline and thought that Glenn would be more than okay with the guys we have on the dline (2 pro bowlers and a double digit sack guy) While focusing on making sure the Offense can score and the back seven can cover well. Hope that helps explain some of the thought process

    • @EjStew06
      @EjStew06 15 часов назад

      @TalkingJetsWithTigo I would agree with you except AG had Hutchinson... They took high.. he's just been injured ... They quietly had dogs on the D Line... And Wilks had D Line in San Fran. In Cleveland Wilks had 2019 Garrett and Sheldon Rich. They both value D line they just didn't have to build it imo you gotta revisit that take

    • @TalkingJetsWithTigo
      @TalkingJetsWithTigo  2 часа назад

      Yes they took Hutch but that was a BPA pick not a scheme/philosophy specific pick. If you look at the teams Glenn and Wilks had they always put more assets and value into the DBs and LBS over the line. In the 4 years Glenn was in Detroit he took 7 Dlineman in the draft and signed 8 FA lineman compared to 10 DBs and LBs in the draft and 18 in FAs in the same time frame. Thats almost double the asset allocation and all the big swings or big time signing? They where DBs none of them where on the line.

    If you're telling us that Aaron Glenn builds his teams from the back to the front. Then why the hell would we pass on Will Johnsohn? Tet McWilliams is 6'5, 215 lbs, and runs a 4.5 forty.
    What makes more sense is to draft CB Will Johnsohn at #7, and in the 2nd round take TCU WR Sqvion Williams. 6'5 230lbs runs a 4.45 forty. Played X, Y, and Wildcst QB for TCU. Ex- HS QB

    • @TalkingJetsWithTigo

    • @AStewSr
      @AStewSr 14 часов назад

      @ sorry missed that.. I still wouldn’t take WR-Tet McMillian at #7. He is not a generational talent. He isn’t better than Garrett Wilson.
      I still say a better option would be to trade down, to late teens, get an extra 2nd or third round pick.
      With our first round pick we should take RT-Josh Simmons, Safety-Malachi Starks, or TE-Tyler Warren.
      Unless WR-Savion Williams moves up draft boards to 1st round status, he or the best DT available in 2nd round should be the target. If we have another second round pick We should look for the BPA at a position of need for us.

    • @TalkingJetsWithTigo
      @TalkingJetsWithTigo  2 часа назад

      This version was no trades or anything i have plans for trade ups trade backs etc... Also just because a guy isn't generational doesn't mean he isnt a blue chip prospect. We aren't looking for someone better than Garret but someone who can play WITH garret for years to come and McMillan is exactly that at an incredibly high level. We could create our own Chase Higgins one two punch. Thats a very enticing prospect especialy when you think beyond this year ionto 2026 when you have a rookie QB. Loading up on weapons is never a bad idea. Also Don't feel all that comfortable taking another Olineman in round 1. Especially when this class isnt all that talented in Olineman up top. The value for Lineman is rounds 3 and beyond. We have used 4 day 1 and 2 picks on the oline in 5 years. No other team us using that many picks to build their oline. Every other team is finding players in later rounds we need to do the same. Dont love S at 7 and even though Starks is a stud Tet is the better player and value. This is one of the deepest TE drafts in a long time no need to rush a TE pick at 7 when we can get a really good player in round 2 3 or even 4

      Think we hold off on a Quincy extension for another year. This year he looked kind of "lost" without CJ and i want to make sure that he wasnt a CJ dependent player and his "down" year was more a result of the dysfunction of the coaching staff. I hope that makes sense lol
