You know, I am an atheist. I don't want to get contentious here. I will not challenge your beliefs. What I do know is that Takis doing this saves precious lives, and doing so affects thousands of lives positively. Him sharing it gives that experience to tens of thousands of lives. And my hope, which I believe we share, is that seeing things like this allows those tens of thousands to spread their compassion exponentially. And with time, no one will have videos like this to share, because humans won't allow it to happen anymore. He is a great person making meaningful changes in the treatment of animals. That matters to all of us, and I am so happy about that and share that hope with you.

It's because that dog was not aggressive. It was scared. Very few dogs have real aggression. This dog was on the defense. He did not trust humans because humans have harmed him and he was protecting himself... that is, until he was shown that other humans can be trusted :)
I think the thing people don’t want to examine is why people can be abusive. It’s not like we are different from these animals. We can live in bad health, past history of abuse. There’s a bigger issue we need to think about when it comes to these darker parts of society

Yeah, many of the stories made me angry at the owners mistreating their dogs, but placing a paralysed dog on the beach and then waiting for hight tide to kill him is ... I don't even have words. That deserves jail time. Great job, Takis, you are so good with animals and you really love them.
Black is still going strong..bearing in mind the vet didn't give him much of a cgance either..but Takis would not give up..and what a wonderfully happy dog he is..paralysed and a massive facial tumour..but as happy as he could be.. teaches us all a lesson in living your life doesn't it.. i do believe that like Giroula when Black goes over that 🌈 bridge Takis will be inconsolable...

Sometimes its scary for some of the owners. Their pets get hurt and they don't know what to do in this moment of panic and they don't have enough money to cure it. So in a state of panic they make stupid choices like leaving them behind. As for the others, they are the abusive ones.

False. There are dogs who just are aggressive either through disorder, personality and nature. Dog attacks and dog mauling aren't by dogs that are simply scared. There are numerous accounts of dogs that are domesticated that have severely attacked their owners due to their hidden aggression. Of course the majority of dogs are pretty well mannered in the heart but it's naive and blindly ignorant to believe aggression doesn't exist in animals.
Takis is one special human being. I thought I loved animals. Takis transcends love with animals, we are not even playing the same game. All we all can say is thanks for caring.
Phoenix was the one that made me the most emotional, that moment when he was petting him/her and they leaned into his hand, all they wanted was love and affection.
Sometimes people just honestly don’t know what to do. I’ve been in that situation. She was old and declining. We did our best to encourage her and attempt to offer her the best life possible. I made the decision to put her down as I felt in my heart that she had lived the best life possible at 17 years old. Now you translate that to doggy years and do the math. It’s not always a terrible situation.
If that shit was pulled in America I think you could technically be charged with animal abuse/neglect as they allowed an animal to sit and suffer in excruciatingly painful situation that was only worsened by their negligence

Dude, how he gave up and accepted the hand and was kinda happy that the hand was not hurtful and enjoyed it... I still cry, 30 minutes after I saw the single video of pheonix and this video. This dog must have lived through the biggest emotional nightmare possible. This dog just wanted a little bit of affection, not even much, just a tiny little bit. And a stop of the torture. I am glad Takis made it possible. Edit: Don't get me wrong, I cried the whole time during that video. I hate to see animals suffering. But Phoenix touched me to the deepest.

Animals are intelligent and can feel vibes better than we can. Takis is very confident and very caring. at hey can feel that and so are less likely to be mindlessly violent. I mean take phoenix as an example. Definitely could’ve been one of those dogs trying to hurt the other person had he been dealt with someone impatient, scared or controlling.
The way phoenix leaned into Takis's hand and realized what a gentle touch was for the first time in his life broke my heart and made me cry. Like he was relieved.

I have tears running down my face. The fact that people think they have a right to judge this man makes me angry! He's given so very much of himself to the animals. He goes without and works himself to the point that I worry about his vhf health. He gives and gives to help animals that would have died without him. Anyone who insults Takis or maligns him in anyway is just jealous, not only because of the love these fur babies have for him, but because we the animal lovers love him too. Animals seem to just know things. For example, before the Brunner Mine in New Zealand exploded, the ponies refused to enter the mine. Not knowing what was happening, they blindfolded the ponies, turned them around and backed them up to their death. Before earthquakes happen, birds are quiet. There is a recording of a whale crying before an earthquake. Animals are truly amazing. These cats overcome natural prey instincts to help cure their predator.
When I’ve felt terrible despair and crying my cat, the one who is usually very cold and aloof will come sit with me to confort me. He sits on my chest while I cry. Cats are super intuitive.

My precious cat was hit by a car at night and in the morning we found her outside dead 😭 I’m glad that these animals were able to be found and survive 😭 thank you for the hard work so they can find happiness in life ❤️

When I was a kid, there were so many dogs that found their way to our yard, in the middle of nowhere. My Dad always let me take care of them til we found good homes. As an adult, I'm 67 now, I never had to go find a dog. They've always found me, except my current pooch. However, I've had 2 dogs come to my door I found homes for since I got her. I must have an automatic signal for homeless dogs,plus cats, domestic birds, and even lost horses! Come to Maeve's house. She's got your back! (Plus 4 paws, hooves or feathers!)

My story was kittens! Momma brought them to live under my dads lawn mower in the shed and my dad started the mower and a kitten flew out. He tossed the mower into the air to lift the blades and found I think 6 more kittens down in a hole. We wrapped up the cut one because she wasn't moving and we laid her in the woods and I cried for about an hour telling my dad I needed to go back, I knew something was wrong and I needed to get her, so he went out and came back in with her bundled up in his hands with her making little squeaks. My next door neighbor was our crazy cat lady and the mother of our Vet. My 110 pound dog just laid around the kittens keeping them warm until our neighbor called and woke up her son. He went to his office and got formula and everything we would need to get them through the night until his office was open and he could call people in to help. He checked all the babies and glued up the hurt one, all it did was cut the skin somehow, it just knocked her out and looked worse than it was. A few days later kitties came back from the vet and we tried to get mom to go to them but she wouldn't take them so we brought them across the street to our neighbors and a stray momma took them in, she had babies but animal control got them but couldn't catch her and she wasnt eating anymore until she adopted the kittens. So these tiny blonde and white stripey kitties got a grey and brown spotted momma and got taken to our vet's house and they all lived with his family members in the area ♡ Now theres animals everywhere. I've taken in 4 stray dogs, rescued 2 from abusers, adopted one from a rescue bus, and now I have a cat that came with my house apparently. She shows up every day around the same time and waits for dinner. She used to have a brother but he vanished one day before we moved here. She used to stay about 20 feet away from us at all times. But Now we open the front door and this glossy fluffy black cat with florescent green eyes and a hot pink tongue poking out is just STARING at us from the top step lol. Ir if we dont see her we call GOOBER! And she just suddenly appears. I never see her walk, she just shows up lol. She wont walk if theres light on her, she sneaks through the dark. She looks like Toothless from how to train your dragon and she's really good friends with..... a skunk. We call him Steven. We think he thinks hes a cat.. lol

I opened the sliding door and pretended to be afraid. The skunk came in as I backed away telling everyone to be quiet, and my daughter panicked, jumping on the sofa, yelling til i laughed and told her it was a kitty. We had her, or my Mom had her. Cats loved her. Never have I seen such a connection. Miss Emerald was still around when my daughter was 25. Mom passed in '13, and a close friend adopted her. Thanks for my memory. I have a long list of medical conditions including a chronic heart condition, breathing difficulties, and a compromised immune system. I live with my fiance and I had to quit my job at the start of the year and stay home while he works overtime to keep up on our necessities. Luckily he works in a plant that has converted over to making soap and sanitizer so his work environment is sanitary. Other than my fiance the only people I've seen in almost 200 days has been my mother and father who stop by to bring my medications and some groceries so that neither my boyfriend or I have to try to go into a store and risk me getting sick. So I'm kind of losing my mind and going stir crazy, but at the same time I'm very very lucky to be able to be so protected right now. I can't even count the amount of times my fiance comes home and has to ask me where everything in the kitchen is because I've reorganized the cabinets AGAIN out of boredom lol.

I got rheumatoid arthritis on top of everything. Life doesn't always play fair. I'm with you on the friends ,but I've been bad, breaking our stay at home laws. Sounds like you have a wonderful fiance. Hoe he coos as wll a he takes car of you. Besides, I hate junk food and going out to eat. But,that's me. At least he's still working. At the age of 61 I applied for and immediately received disability. I don't get alot per month, but my medical is covered 100%. My prescription cost is $1.30 per. I feel very fortunate to live in this wonderful country. I hope it doesn't change. Stay safe, wear a mask (tho in my opinion it's a panacea from the Gov't). If nothing else, it prevents you from touching your face. Cao

Sometimes people just honestly don’t know what to do. I’ve been in that situation. She was old and declining. We did our best to encourage her and attempt to offer her the best life possible. I made the decision to put her down as I felt in my heart that she had lived the best life possible at 17 years old. Now you translate that to doggy years and do the math. It’s not always a terrible situation.
If that shit was pulled in America I think you could technically be charged with animal abuse/neglect as they allowed an animal to sit and suffer in excruciatingly painful situation that was only worsened by their negligence

Dude, how he gave up and accepted the hand and was kinda happy that the hand was not hurtful and enjoyed it... I still cry, 30 minutes after I saw the single video of pheonix and this video. This dog must have lived through the biggest emotional nightmare possible. This dog just wanted a little bit of affection, not even much, just a tiny little bit. And a stop of the torture. I am glad Takis made it possible.

Animals seem to just know things. For example, before the Brunner Mine in New Zealand exploded, the ponies refused to enter the mine. Not knowing what was happening, they blindfolded the ponies, turned them around and backed them up to their death. Before earthquakes happen, birds are quiet. There is a recording of a whale crying before an earthquake. Animals are truly amazing. These cats overcome natural prey instincts to help cure their predator.
When I’ve felt terrible despair and crying my cat, the one who is usually very cold and aloof will come sit with me to confort me. He sits on my chest while I cry. Cats are super intuitive.
My cats have come to my rescue many times. When I can’t sleep, when I’m crying....even during sex a couple times! Hahahahha

When I was a kid, there were so many dogs that found their way to our yard, in the middle of nowhere. My Dad always let me take care of them til we found good homes. As an adult, I'm 67 now, I never had to go find a dog. They've always found me, except my current pooch. However, I've had 2 dogs come to my door I found homes for since I got her. I must have an automatic signal for homeless dogs,plus cats, domestic birds, and even lost horses! Come to Maeve's house. She's got your back! (Plus 4 paws, hooves or feathers!)

My story was kittens! Momma brought them to live under my dads lawn mower in the shed and my dad started the mower and a kitten flew out. He tossed the mower into the air to lift the blades and found I think 6 more kittens down in a hole. We wrapped up the cut one because she wasn't moving and we laid her in the woods and I cried for about an hour telling my dad I needed to go back, I knew something was wrong and I needed to get her, so he went out and came back in with her bundled up in his hands with her making little squeaks. My next door neighbor was our crazy cat lady and the mother of our Vet. My 110 pound dog just laid around the kittens keeping them warm until our neighbor called and woke up her son. He went to his office and got formula and everything we would need to get them through the night until his office was open and he could call people in to help. He checked all the babies and glued up the hurt one, all it did was cut the skin somehow, it just knocked her out and looked worse than it was. A few days later kitties came back from the vet and we tried to get mom to go to them but she wouldn't take them so we brought them across the street to our neighbors and a stray momma took them in, she had babies but animal control got them but couldn't catch her and she wasnt eating anymore until she adopted the kittens. So these tiny blonde and white stripey kitties got a grey and brown spotted momma and got taken to our vet's house and they all lived with his family members in the area ♡ Now theres animals everywhere. I've taken in 4 stray dogs, rescued 2 from abusers, adopted one from a rescue bus, and now I have a cat that came with my house apparently. She shows up every day around the same time and waits for dinner. She used to have a brother but he vanished one day before we moved here. She used to stay about 20 feet away from us at all times. But Now we open the front door and this glossy fluffy black cat with florescent green eyes and a hot pink tongue poking out is just STARING at us from the top step lol. Ir if we dont see her we call GOOBER! And she just suddenly appears. I never see her walk, she just shows up lol. She wont walk if theres light on her, she sneaks through the dark. She looks like Toothless from how to train your dragon and she's really good friends with..... a skunk. We call him Steven. We think he thinks hes a cat.. lol

I opened the sliding door and pretended to be afraid. The skunk came in as I backed away telling everyone to be quiet, and my daughter panicked, jumping on the sofa, yelling til i laughed and told her it was a kitty. We had her, or my Mom had her. Cats loved her. Never have I seen such a connection. Miss Emerald was still around when my daughter was 25. Mom passed in '13, and a close friend adopted her. Thanks for my memory. That was an old kitty! Stay safe, Ms. D.D. I'm in northern California surrounded by smoke & fire, but safe. Not like the rest of the states.

I have a long list of medical conditions including a chronic heart condition, breathing difficulties, and a compromised immune system. I live with my fiance and I had to quit my job at the start of the year and stay home while he works overtime to keep up on our necessities. Luckily he works in a plant that has converted over to making soap and sanitizer so his work environment is sanitary. Other than my fiance the only people I've seen in almost 200 days has been my mother and father who stop by to bring my medications and some groceries so that neither my boyfriend or I have to try to go into a store and risk me getting sick. So I'm kind of losing my mind and going stir crazy, but at the same time I'm very very lucky to be able to be so protected right now. I can't even count the amount of times my fiance comes home and has to ask me where everything in the kitchen is because I've reorganized the cabinets AGAIN out of boredom lol.

I was a firefighter and fell on a fire 21 years ago and damaged my spine & broke the last 2 bones of my cocyx off. By 2011, I could barely walk, was laid off from my medical job and that was that. I got rheumatoid arthritis on top of everything. Life doesn't always play fair. I'm with you on the friends ,but I've been bad, breaking our stay at home laws.
Sounds like you have a wonderful fiance. Hoe he coos as wll a he takes car of you. Besides, I hate junk food and going out to eat. But,that's me. At least he's still working. At the age of 61 I applied for and immediately received disability. I don't get alot per month, but my medical is covered 100%. My prescription cost is $1.30 per. I feel very fortunate to live in this wonderful country. I hope it doesn't change. Stay safe, wear a mask (tho in my opinion it's a panacea from the Gov't).
