I'm old enough to remember much better rosters than 2017 and 2019 but got to start somewhere.
I clearly remember this optimism pre-season last year.
We predicted them to go 7-5. Let's not get too crazy here.
Don't be trolling. If you're an AU fan and you don't see the improvement to the roster, then maybe you should become a table-tennis fan or something. If you're NOT an AU fan, then you are obsessing much.... you should try to find a link to the bammer page. I'm sure Karen Dubose will do a fine job for you guys.... NOT! LOL!
We are on the cusp of May and you guys are Boogin' at level 8 already. Okay, I'm all in on the Boog! I have stated Auburn is a 9 win team, and those 9 wins aide in bringing in a Top 5 recruiting class.
I think this team is setup enough, at this point, to be competitive. I think the season will come down to two things: 1-can this receiver room create space to be open for receptions and 2-can the QB room deliver the ball to them for completions!
BINGO!
The 2019 team had a damn good roster, I'm not sure this year's roster will be better than that one
2019 was probably better overall, but that Oline was so garbage that it brings it below 2024
@@DonovanGG__ Offensive line didn't really get bad until 2020. 2019 offensive line was very experienced, almost all being seniors
@@BradenINSANE bro you are not being serious right now
Zack, give a little love to Malcolm Simmons. Don't be distracted by the star ratings. He is the real deal.
On thing most people overlook with P T. That in a R P O offense Pt can run the ball very well. Look at the A day game P T ran the ball very good. Last year in the wining games his running was the difference.
Man stfu it's practice dude
It's ridiculous to rely on PT running the football, we have the best RB room in the SEC;
he needs to make better decisions much faster and his judgement needs to improve,
when he does throw the ball, he needs to do it with much better pace and accuracy, if he can't and we lose in conference he needs to sit ASAP.
@auallday5762Peyton knows how to read blocks and get north and south. Robby didn’t . Robby loved the sidelines. He ran east and west until he got out of bounds. I think being last in the conference in passing is on the table again this year. I can easily see Thorne being 14-16 in the conference in passing yards per game and I also expect several games where we don’t have 100 yards passing again.
Also be reminded that Peyton appears to run well in the A-Day game but of course there was no threat he was gonna get hit..-Just sayin.
@@jakepadgett5569 conveniently forgetting a record setting rushing effort against Saban that will never be broken in T Town in 22.
147 yards from scrimmage right through them not around them "straight to the sidelines" what load of unmitigated bull manure 😂
Also against UGA last season scored the only touchdown of the second half running straight through them
Perhaps tell the truth instead of spit balling garbage, nah, just lie like a rug. These are only 2 examples but there are many more, but go ahead and rug it out.
Ppl are completely asleep on Perry. I’m a huge Coleman fan but Perry’s blocking along with his pass catching ability he will play & for the future of auburn let’s hope he plays a lot or we will find out why freeze was cautious about using the portal. We cannot let the freshman wr transfer.
I agree. Love Cam, but it seems people forget about Perry. Maybe because he isn’t there yet? I promise I’m wide awake on the Perry train!
My thinking on Perry and Malcolm and Brice is similar to yours. I think there's a little bit of 'out of sight, out of mind' going on. I'm sure Hugh and Derrick Nix aren't sure yet the degree to which they might want to develop/play those guys and redshirt. Those will be individual decisions, of course. But however they start off, these receivers need to be fed the ball or tjey could transfer. I DO think they will be waiting for Walker White to get out there and they probably want to play with Hank Brown too.
He just isn’t on campus yet, people haven’t completely forgotten
Word Perry was a top 5 receiver in this class once right?
Why you talking about blocking. He is a wr not a te
The defense would have to take a huge step forward to be better than the 2019 version. The offense has a chance to be better than 2017, but we all know Auburn needs better quarterback play in order to be seriously compared to Auburn’s 2017 SEC West Championship team.
This roster can be great. Still a long way to go. I think we go 8 - 4 and then a good bowl game
Lots of sunshine pumping today, guys.
Looking nice on paper is not the same as playing the game. The 2019 team had multiple weapons and a great QB. Zack, you might want to check that.
One can't compare Derrick Brown too any other player. He is a generational player
The higher the hype, the more a 5-7 season hurts.
get james' little finger out yer ass, waddle on over to the bammer channel & chat with your mom, and ya'll can talk about how you HOPE bammer can get LUCKY again in 2024 like they did against AU in 2023.... you know... when Coach Freeze had a brian harsin roster and a thrown together staff in his VERY FIRST year at AU. Heheee.... ya'll just THOUGHT Tubs & Gus was bammers worst nightmare. Just wait till the FREEZE warning reaches full effect.
Let’s wait and see the wins this season on a much easier schedule than previous years
You would have to take our QB room this year over freshman Bo and Cord Sandberg right? DL, LB, DB are the position groups 2019 had over this squad.
Wait till perry gets there
Charlie goof day.
Peyton just needs to make the ROUTINE plays and we will have a good offense.
I would say this is the best roster since 2020. The 2020 team wasn’t horrible just a long SEC Covid season.
we seem better than last year but our ol didnt look good in the A day game...could have been our defense
I dk why the comparison with Gus bus teams? We were never dominate in any fashion of the game except occasionally on defense. I LOVED those defenses but they never were consistently game changers for us. (I know our offense didn’t ever truly let them be the best version of themselves because they were continually on the field.)
I’m excited about potentially being a complete team under Freeze.
I don’t want anymore gimmick coaching like we had under Gus.
We don’t have to have a Famous Jamies qb year. A McElroy Management year will get the win total to 9.
Agree. Plenty of teams have success with a competent QB.
Bo was 2019 in his freshman year
When will perry along with the few other guys in our class that arent here yet get on campus
I can see Cam Riley playing defensive end or Buck
He is in the transfer portal
Idk haven’t seen nothing but spring game but on paper I say 2019
If this team had a good QB it could be a top 4 SEC team but until I see something different from Thorne I still think 5-7 is on the table if things go poorly.
7 and 5
Give me the 5 Ls cause I’m going 8-4 as the floor and 10-2 as the ceiling
yo Charlie back up and running let's gooo
Let’s see some on field production before we make that comparison. Paper predictions don’t win games or championships!!
I think your wrong about 2019 the only position on the field we are better is oline which is worth a lot but there isn’t as much proven talent anywhere else. I get it it’s your job to be positive and talk up this season but I think this is still a rebuild we might win 8 games. I think 7 is more realistic with maybe a bowl game dub but good lord we lay an egg every year in the post season. 7 is progress tho and next year if we can hold on too the young guys and get them some experience we might make a run.
Gus teams always were elite offensively and could run the ball he also had good D hire a DC and stay out there way.I don’t think he ever had a season with less than 9 wins not to shabby.
Is this real?
Yes he did. He got like 6 wins in his final season. Maybe 7
We need to shoot for better than the 8th best in the SEC. This is Auburn. Top 5 at worst should be the goal
5-7 this year and i'm not joking. that offense looked awful at A-day
Lol😂 if don’t all come together on field Im not buying it I’m looking for on field results as a fan
Bo left became a Heisman contender and 1st round draft pick. We were problem. Not him. Haven’t had a good QB since him
2019 roster was better imo
Great offensive line??? I’ve got to see that on the field first. We haven’t fielded a great offensive line in a decade !
Pump the brakes. Nobody right now on the team comes close to guys like Derrick brown, Jeff holland, Marlon Davidson, Jamel dean, Tre Williams or kJ britt. When stidham came to auburn he was way ahead of what what Thorne was and I like our rb group but nobody right now can carry the workload like kerryon did. The only thing 2024 has the edge in is WR just because of Cam Coleman and maybe the o-line is deeper other than that it is not close.
Offense is better than 2019 but not the defense. We had studs on defense that yr and quite a few went to the NFL.
How and u haven't seen them play
@@davidrutledge9126 OL, RB, WR, TE, and QB are all better
@@ryand4940 you saying those rooms were better in 2019? Cause nah.
@@datdude_mp123 which ones aren’t?
Bottom two QB room in the league, and we are gonna compare this team to 2017 or 2019 stop it, this is grade a level barning at its finest. Let’s win 7 games first before we have this kinda discussion
Bottom 2? That's quite a stretch especially since Thorne is getting better receivers and a ton of time to develop over the off-season
@@marafty3776 only teams worse than auburn from a QB room perspective are Vandy and MSST. Bottom two or bottom three doesn’t matter, banking on freshman to elevate a forth year starter is asking a lot. Honestly it should be the other way around but it’s not, once you get a get a top tier QB on this roster then you can have a rational conversation about doing something. 25 or 26 is when I expect to legitimately believe to have a shot at doing something like competing for a championship.
@@Knightmare1989 when you said league did you mean sec?
New Mexico State QB transferred to Vandy. The head coach Kill 😔 went to Vandy as well
In 2023 auburn had the 15th most talented roster in the country. You just gotta fire the coach and get rid of the loser qb.
15th best roster in the country? This is a joke right?
@@pickesc in terms of blue chip ratio they were.
@@lucio989 In order for that to be accurate you have to actually still have the players you recruited on roster. By the time 2023 came around Auburn was missing an entire recruiting class except for one player. Jarquez Hunter. Check it out. It's the truth. No way they were that high in reality in 2023 based on attrition.
@@pickesc all teams lose players. The point is auburn had the 15th most talented roster. It’s called a fact
Hahaha wishful thinking, this team and coaches is a joke 😂😂😂
Y'all always talk about Auburn personail but every year they disappoint just stop it
They have to get the clicks.
Man just root for another team or don't watch it is that simple
Ole Piss needs fans
Since the roster is at least part of every show I can't imagine why you're even here. You've already decided Auburn will suck, so here's a tip. Don't watch any games either.
@@gamingdreams2142 Got yours.
