Hand up. I read the wrong stat on how many players the SEC had drafted. The point being made that the SEC has dominated recent drafts remains intact. We will watch the tape and learn from this rep.

Yes there is bias but it’s like the Jimmy Johnson quote when he coached the cowboys. Treat everyone the same, differently. Rookie got cut for falling asleep during film but with aikman he just nudge him to get up. In this case the SEC is Troy aikman and everyone else is role players or less

SEC Bias was terrible in the mid to late 2000s with the BCS. The Pete Carroll USC teams got hosed on several occasions near the end of their dominance and would certainly have beat several of those SEC teams that got into the championship games during those years.

Does the SEC get the most national attention? Yes, and they’ve earned it. Look at all sports such as basketball, baseball, track, gymnastics, etc., and the SEC is well represented as well. But when we look at individual schools, the SEC has nothing on Ohio State, Texas, Oregon, and ……….Notre Dame in terms of being fawned over.

Its not bias if we are just better than you. Even teams with great stats in weak conferences get exposed as lesser when playing SEC teams. If other conferences want more coverage then support your conferences and produce people who cover your school and put them on the internet. I don't want to know if Ohio st,psu,Michigan, ect are doing in anything. We in the sec don't care. Produce your own programs and leave the sec alone 😅

💯% real. The SEC is being considered the toughest conference because they have the most National Championships, in the CFP era. But it's only been Georgia and Alabama who have been dominant. And LSU is the only team in the SEC to make the playoffs. Every other team in the SEC has been struggling against all the other conferences. And Alabama and Georgia have been dominant over every team in college football so make it make sense.

@@FredPitre-o4b Anytime you include the BCS - youre gonna take a FAT L. That post season system literally got sued by the US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TWICE for corruption and anti-trust, and yet here you are using it as clear evidence of fair superior competition?
Lets go down the list here:
      - 1998 - Undefeated Tulane didnt play for a title, but one loss FSU did (in fact they magically missed a BCS bowl entirely)
      - 1999 - both teams made it were undefeated, but undefeated Marshall didnt play for a title (in fact they magically missed a BCS bowl entirely)
      - 2000 - FSU literally lost to Miami in the season, Miami finished with the same record, but magically didnt make the championship game.
      - 2001 - HOTTEST OF BS SEASON - Tbh I dont see anyone beating Miami, BUT Nebraska got waxed by #4 CU 62-24 - yet this game magically didnt matter, PLUS #3 Oregon won the PAC, and didnt move over Nebraska, despite Nebraska losing.
      - 2002 - Rare legitimate selection...... (only 2 undefeated teams)
      - 2003 - HOTTEST OF BS SEASON - 1. USC literally outranked both of the teams that played in the championship game. 2. OU got waxed by #10 KSU 35-7 in the B12 title game - yet this game magically didnt matter.
      - 2004 - HOTTEST OF BS SEASON - Imo i think USC wins no matter what, but 6 Teams went undefeated - this is an obvious contestable season.
      - 2005 - Rare legitimate selection (only 2 undefeated teams)
      - 2006 - UF lost a game, Boise State went undefeated but didnt play for a title (also the rankings of SEC teams this year are extremely sus af - like how LSU ranked #3 in the country but finished 4th in the SEC)
      - 2007 - TOTAL CRAPSHOOT - 7 of the top 8 teams finished with the same record. Kansas had the only one loss record besides Ohio State - they didnt even make the top 5. Georgia was the highest ranked SEC team, but LSU made the title game. 5 different teams have legit claims for this season.
      - 2008 - HOTTEST OF BS SEASON -
      1. Of the two teams that actually went undefeated - NEITHER played in the title game. Utah went undefeated with 5 Top 25 wins - this magically wasnt even good enough for the top 5 somehow (meanwhile 11-1 Bama beat 2 Top 25 teams and opponents combined for a 70-79 record and were ranked #3 in the nation somehow); BSU went undefeated for 3rd time in 5 seasons and had higher ranked wins than Bama - they magically didnt even make a BCS Bowl game
      2. Texas beat OU, but due to a round robin in the B12 a coin toss decided selection for the B12 championship game. Also a round robin existed in the Pac10.
      3. SEC rankings as sus af this season - namely in the absolute bs that was Alabama's schedule; and the overrated nonsense of Georgia (literally beat ZERO ranked teams til bowls - yet stayed in the Top 15 the entire year).
      - 2009 - HOTTEST OF BS SEASON - 1. 5 teams went undefeated, like 04 with this many undefeated teams multiple teams have a claim. FFS Boise State went undefeated in BACK TO BACK seasons and the 4th time in 6 years - they were the only other team than Bama to beat 2 Top 10 teams, ranked #1 in offense - and yet magically didnt even make the Top 5.
      2. The P5 vs G5 rankings are total garbage this season - take your pick (TCU beat more ranked teams, higher ranked teams, beat all teams by a higher margin, beat all ranked teams by a higher margin, had a higher SOS, the MWC went 4-2 in OOC vs the B12, had a higher ranked offense and higher ranked defense than Texas - so how tf did UT outrank them?) (Boise State had the same number of ranked wins, much higher ranked wins, much larger MOV on ranked teams, much larger MOV on the season, better offense, better defense, and 2 common opponents with UC - and outscored these opponents 103-24 vs 65-34 - so how tf did UC outrank BSU?) (UF beat ZERO ranked teams til bowls and finsihed 11-1 2nd in the SEC, yet outranked BSU who had more ranked wins, higher ranked wins, higher MOV and better offense)

    • @MattBuild4
      @MattBuild4 3 месяца назад

      - 2010 - THE MOST BS SEASON OF ALL TIME - and its not even close..... Here are just some facts of this season:
      - Boise State entered this season on a 25 game win streak.
      - TCU had gone 23-3 the previous two years and finished in the Top 7 both times
      - Week 1 rankings - #3 Boise State, #4 TCU, #6 Oregon, #21 Auburn
      - Oregon jumped TCU in week 4 - that week Oregon beat ASU 42-31; TCU beat SMU 41-14. TCU already had 1 Top 25 win. - Imagine dropping in the rankings for beating a team by 27, and that the team that is jumping you beat a team of equal strength (SMU went 7-7, ASU went 6-6) by only 11.
      - Oregon jumped Boise State in Week 5 - that week Oregon beat #9 Stanford 52-31 at home; Boise State beat New Mexico State 59-0; BSU already had 2 Top 25 wins. - Imagine dropping the rankings when you beat a team by nearly 60 points, and then imagine that the team that is jumping you is a team you beat in back to back seasons 63-39. (*Also remember this stanford game for later.....)
      - Auburn jumped TCU in week 9 - that week Auburn beat (4-8) Ole Miss 51-31. TCU beat (2-11) UNLV 48-0. Imagine dropping in the rankings because you shutout a team 48-0, and yet have to watch the team that jumped you give up 30+ to a 4-8 team (also TCU never gave up 30 points in any game the entire season).
      - Auburn jumped Boise State in week 10 - that week Auburn beat FCS Chatanooga 62-24. Boise State beat #18 Hawaii 52-7....... THAT IS ONE OF THE MOST NONSENSICAL THINGS IVE EVER SEEN...... Imagine dropping the rankings because an SEC team beating an FCS team is more valuable than a 40 point Top 20 win. Also imagine getting jumped in the rankings after you win 33 CONSECUTIVE GAMES!
      - In week 10, Oregon beat (7-6) Washington 53-16 - that same week TCU beat #6 Utah on the road 47-7. Both Oregon and Auburn remained ranked ahead of TCU........ So not only is an FCS win more valuable than a 40 point Top 20 win - it was also more valuable than a 40 point Top 6 road win. And beating a medicore P5 team by 40 is more valuable than Top 6 40 point road win. TELL ME THE SEASON IS RIGGED WITHOUT TELLING ME!
      - In Week 11, the SEC and B10 Commissioner wrote published letters to the AP and Harris Polls demanding that under no circumstance should Boise State nor TCU be allowed to played for a championship under any circumstance.
      - BSU was jumped BEFORE they ever lost. Prior to BSU losing to Nevada in Week 13 - they won 34 consecutive games, beat 3 Top 25 teams, ranked #1 offense, #2 in defense, and averaged a 42.3 margin of victory per game - no other team in the history of the sport has ever been jumped in the rankings with stats like this EVER.
      - TCU went undefeated in back to back seasons, beat 4 Top 25 teams, ranked #4 in offense, ranked #1 in defense and averaged a 31.4 margin of victory on the season and a 28.8 margin of victory vs Top 25 teams. This team did not make a championship game.
      - Boise State magically didnt even make a BCS bowl despite outranking 5 teams that did, and literally beat one of the teams that did this season. 8-5 UNRANKED UCONN made a BCS bowl over this team.
      - 7 G5 teams finsihed in the Top 25 - 4 of them finished in the Top 15 - 2 of them finished in the Top 10. Only 1 made a BCS bowl.
Believe it or not theres a reason why after this season 12 G5 universities sued the league for fraud and corruption, 4 state governments sued the league for anti-trust, fraud and corruption, the US DOJ opened an anti-trust investigation into the league and the US Senate had an open investigation into the NCAA and BCS for antir-trust, fraud and corruption.

No, the middle of the field SEC teams do not get favoritism over the top other p5 teams unless they played a weak schedule. This issue is the SEC will have a minimum of 4+ teams with great records with mild to tough schedules vs the other conferences with only 2 top teams that are far better than the rest of their own conference and not playing the same level of strength of schedules.

SEC has had more but there definitely is bias. This year 8 of the top 10 teams players were drafted from were not in the SEC. The SEC has had several advantages including larger number of teams many of those years in their conference, McDonald’s bags, and others. Those advantages are over. The BIG alone has several teams that have had over 400 players drafted from their schools alone.

And you even explained why there is no bias yourself:

Of the new USC Oregon Washington and UCLA only really Oregon is worth a damn going into next year and even then I don't trust it
The B1G unironically is still a more shallow confrence even after cutting off and adding 3 top 4 Pac 12 teams(Utah was the other one)
The consensus top 10 looks something like:
      1. UGA (SEC)
      2. Ohio State (B1G)
      3. Texas (SEC)
      4 Oregon (B1G)

      9. Florida state (ACC)
      10 Utah (Big 12)
      5/10 are SEC
Hold on because it gets worse

      11. Penn St (B1G)
      12. Ohklahoma(SEC)
      13. LSU(SEC)
      14. Miami(ACC)
      15. Tenessee(SEC)
      8/15 are SEC
The bottom 10 of these are generally a toss up but at most the B1G has Wisconsin and Iowa and the SEC has generally Kentucky A&M and Ive seen a Florida or two even if I dont agree with that in the slightest

Instead of trying to finish the season undefeated and make a statement against UGA, and claim a title like UCF did. They allowed their teammates to be humiliated in a New Years 6 bowl game. And had the nerve to make rings claiming undefeated. That's a weak decision, on top of a weak decision followed by a weak decision.
They were tasked to find the 4 best teams, and they did. I know it stings, but FSU fans are acting just like the players did... weak AF!

SEC bias? I don't know. I know Alabama is good; 13 national championships since 1960. 10 out of 16 teams (including Texas and OU) have won a national championship since 1960. Until the top dog is dethroned, we will have to deal with it. I look forward to seeing how Texas and OU fare in the league. I expect they will humble most of the middling SEC teams that thrive on the success of the top brands. We shall see.
