The "strong" telepath leader of the resistance in Matheson's flashback was supposed to be another character, one so powerful that she would not have needed any device, but the actress was unavailable at the time (three guesses who). A certain minbari ex-ranger in a mission of redemption would also have made a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance. The box is a mystery that was set up in "previous" episodes you'll watch later, get some background to here, and play a big role in some episodes that were never filmed but for which you can find details online (or in the books that contain the Crusade scripts and behind the scenes info).
The airing order is completely whack, but thanks to TNT interference there's no good order, so sticking to this one and being aware you'll find inconsistencies is probably the best approach. There will be even more blatant inconsistencies. When the tieme comes, just know grey was shot before black. You'll find the family comment, and other setups there
We don't know where the message to Galen originated. It could have easily just been random noise, or more likely, a manipulation by the empathetic being. The being's purpose was to get people to forgive themselves and that could have been an attempt to help Galen. He just has too far to go to be easily helped that way.
Did you consider that, it might have been the creature in the bubble that sent the message after reading telepathically are the reaction? It was definitely galen's thinking, according to my read of the episode. It would also be consistent with JMS's critique of agnostic atheism

JMS' preferred order is the best way to watch the series i feel rather than the aired order.
The captured telepath lady was originally supposed to be Lyta.
Gideon did not rise from Ensign to Captain that fast. That flashback had to have been pre-Clark.
Does your shirt say "TAX THE RICH"? LOVE IT! #EatTheRich
24:04 Ah I see it now! I also see the AOC at the bottom. Is that from her merch store? I want one!
