yknow thinking about it... River Berry must be considered like OLD MONEY. Like she has an ancestor who was a president. Several strings of STEM careers, one random crime lord, an Olympic medallist... in this version of the world, she's on par with the Goths and the Landgraabs. Her style is very preppy and while her mum certainly wasn't, it just gives off the vibe of "I've got an illustrious family history and generational wealth on my side".

Hear me out, a 100 baby monogamy challenge.
You create a main sim that births the baby’s. But they can only have babies with one sim. You must be able to control both sims. We’ll call the other sim sim B. You must be able to get a steady supply of potions of youth because with aging on sim B can age and die while the other sim is pregnant. This means that as a trade off of having two sims to care for all the offspring you must balance completing enough aspirations to get points to get that potion before they age to death. Other sims can’t get the potion and give it to sim B. If the main sim or sim B dies before you have 100 babies you lose. Or you can start with the next generation and a new sim B.
What if she assumed she was the reason they couldn't conceive but after her hookup with Deshawn she gets pregnant? Could be a reason why she wants to adopt later on with Vincent in order to make up for it? She could also maybe convince Vincent Deshawn's child is his child, especially if Vincent isn't fully aware of their (his) fertility issues. Could also be a reason why she throws herself into adopting/her marriage later on
Maybe put rivers hair down to make her look less like a teen

I know the affair is part of the 'blue' stage of the Not So Berry challenge but it also seems plausible with the character you've built for River. She got married very young, so she's reacting to adversity rashly/immaturely due to her age. Looking forward to her redemption arc!

River finding out that Vincent did not feel confident enough to talk about his feelings and his second thoughts but instead went to his parents, and then when they moved in, River feared that he would never be able to talk to her about this stuff, and when she tried he just invited his dad over. So she confide in Deshawn all what she is feeling and one thing led to another
I think it would be adorable for her to have a daughter named Iris, the Greek goddess of the rainbow, to represent all the Berry gens before her

Kelsey, there's a mod called language barriers by frankk. It adds multiple languages based on the ts4 worlds, including Tartosiano (essentially italian). if you wanted to add a little something to your game, I'd highly recommend this one, especially because it fits your current plot. you'd just have to set vincent's family members' native language to tartosiano. and if you really wanted to you could make river learn tartosiano too

The immediate recognition from Vincent's Nonna and his little sister is EVERYTHING! 😍 and that the mother doesn't like her as fast is so funny Oh, it will be heartbreaking when she cheats..

That seems like the right time. Right now River still seems so focused on everything being perfect so revealing her birthmark regularly could still be something she considers a fla.

That would be hilarious, its giving "estaban julio ricardo delarosa montoya ramerez" vibes but I think there's actually a character limit on names. Although, I do think that there's probably a mod to change that.
I mean, it might be too "real", but situations like with River and Vincent leading to infidelity are actually pretty common; both sides of the relationship need to be paying attention to their partner's wants and needs, and it seems like Vincent is happy to think everything is fine and never be bothered, leaving River feeling ignored and gaslit (since she can see obvious problems, and Vincent seems to be acting like those problems don't actually exist), which, combined with poor communication, can easily lead to River looking outside their marriage for someone who will actually listen to her and acknowledge the issues she's having, allowing her to talk through them and resolve them as they need to be. This could very well lead her into a relationship with an old friend who DOES listen to her, which leads them both to developing feelings for each other and sleeping together, but the pregnancy (and actually having someone to talk through her feelings with) leads River to realize the feelings were just due to her feeling unfulfilled at home, and now that she's worked through the feelings, her relationship with the old friend needs to go back to being just friends, and she needs to go back and talk to Vincent and figure things out at home.
There’s a language barriers mod that lets you assign a sim’s native language and learn how to speak other ones! Could be fun for gameplay with a family who mostly speaks another language at home

The fact Vincent doesn't have a problem with the fight actually fits with the her cheating angle. As he doesn't see a problem with anything.

Maybe you should give her kids rainbow names. Since they will be the last ones. Like maybe Prisma (like prism) or Iris (Greek for rainbow) for a girl. And for a boy maybe like Beau (for rainbow).

So I think the best answer is she got pregnant with Deshawn’s baby and just doesn’t tell Vincent. Maybe he assumes because he’s probably sterile, but he won’t care after a few age ups.
I think the challenge rules state they have to adopt. Otherwise I like the idea.

Just a reminder to anyone who hasn't kept up with the rules of this challenge and might just be dropping in at random, it is a requirement of the blue generation to have a one time secret affair and the whole point of this challenge is to play the game differently and not just make Sims who are perfect so it's not about what your own morals are it's just a game so someone having their Sim cheat doesn't mean they are condoning cheating
And the plot thickens! I think this was the best root to go down to make it easier for your sim to what to have a fling.
Lowkey River thinks Vincent may be the reason why she can't get pregnant. She loves him so much but she lives for the idea of having a baby. If Deshawn can give her that baby maybe that's reason enough for a one time woohoo...
when you opened the profile of vincent to see the sentiment it said “super-siblings.” did anyone else see it and is incredibly confused 😂
I definitely love this plot line and adding a family/backstory to Vincent that expands his profile as more than a good bean/jock character.
It also makes sense that these things that River may have not considered before getting married/moving in together can lead to a riff. You initially explained that River is chasing a picture perfect couple asthetic so it tracks that she was so focused on getting a ‘jock’ bf/hubbie that even though they really love each other, she forgot Vincent is a whole person and is reeling from the events unfolding here.
Have you considered aging up her highschool friends and moving them(and potential partners of theirs) into the neighborhood for more drama? I can totally see River being part of (or leading) book clubs, Pilates, and other group activities that lean into the lifestyle she’s trying to emulate and can be great opportunities for more drama.
I actually have no idea how to make snob sims actually like the decor 😭😭

The thing I hate most about blue gen of, Not So Berry is not that they cheat but that they never tell anyone about it. I don't know maybe it is my own moral compass (as Kelesey said) but I feel like the best way to start to redeem yourself is admit to the mistake in the first place BUT aside from her not telling Vinicent the truth I am living for the drama!

You can cheat Vincent’s relationship with his family if you download the UI cheats mod. Super helpful for LP’s with extended family.

When I played with my blue gen, my storyline was that she met a random guy while working and to have her maybe get pregnant. Then right after she came home, she woohooed her husband and it was a lottery who actually got her pregnant. After the birth it was not the husband’s baby but the thing was the unknown guy was actually half brother to him… And so technically the child still had the same genes in family😅😅
Now that River has hit rock bottom, I think that she should get her mark back and that Vincent will be sad that she didn’t share that she had a scar.
Snob is such an annoying trait because they never like the decor unless it’s really expensive.

does anyone else feel like the storyline and particularly this episode are being quite rushed? idk, i just feel like this episode and the conflict was really forced, it would've been nice to have a bit more natural progression and them settling into their jobs, marriage, etc rather than jumping into the affair straight away.
Not really, the challange has been going on for quite a long time, she might be afraid that it becomes too boring/repetitive otherwise.
